  1. Have never been to one, but often choose itineraries and ships that do not appeal to families.
Have been to Canary Islands with Azamara - only one baby on the ship.

Went with Regent with some teens, but neither Regent nor Azamara have “kids’ stuff”

I have thought about trying Virgin, but the itenararies are short and seems to be repeated trips…When I have made searched.

lets hope for more options for adults only in the future

  2. I hope all cruiseships will cancel Skt.Petersburg and find alternative destinations in The Baltics. I do realize that many cruisers would like to go to than Russian port, but probably not in these days. Having been there on our Very first cruise ever, I say, have it on a later bucket list, but for now, enjoy all the other beautiful ports in the Baltic.

speaking for myself; I cannot wait to go to the Baltics again, but have not really wanted any of the cruises that spend 2-3 days in Skt. petersburg…..so for me, Iam looking forward to seeing What the ships new itenaries will be for this summer….and am ready to book a Baltic cruise.

  3. I am a great fan of Azamara. Have been on two cruises, which we we loved. And thus had two more booked. Unfortunately, due to Covid 19, we cancelled our Black Sea Cruise this coming May....and of course, we had to pay the $ 75 pp.,

better for us to lose the small amount, than go on an “uncertain cruise”.

And now I see many frustrating people writing here on this board about the future for Azamara.

One thing is the small perks....loyalty points....which is nice, but honestly, not the reason for booking a cruise.

But If all bookings are cancelled ( we still have a Japan intensive cruise 2022 booked ) of course they will have problems ....why not try to be positive....I cannot believe they would buy this fleet unless they wanted it to be a succes and have passengers that are content and happy and thus return for yet another cruise.

It might be their plan to resell within 5-10 years....but that is called business....and that is what makes the World go around.......

no matter who owns Azamara, my wish is that they will stay in business and have safe journeys!

If you look at the Azamara board - people are cancelling like crazy as they fear the new owners.

    Time will tell!

How do you know that people are cancelling ?

I do hope that Azamara is still a Good choice, as we have a Japan itinerary /spring 22 planned ( was April this year )

we have done two Azamara cruises, which we truely enjoyed.

if new owners do not perform, of course they will loose business...

I guess they bought the fleet with hopes of a Good business, and that means having people buy their cruises, so it should be in their Best interest to have happy and content cruisers on board!

    love the size.....and itineraries.....port intensive ....

  5. Iahore 👏🏻👏🏻agreed!
Nice to dream...as of now ( never happened before ) we have 3 cruises booked.

I am not sure , though, that I will go forward with final payment on the first to come, which is due in a month. I have asked the travelbureau ( in this case an American one )

if they ( Azamara ) can promise me, from their point, not destinations, that we are allowed our own shore excursions.....still waiting to hear from them.

this cruise is “The Black Sea” in May 21.

susiesan, wonder If you are going on Oceania? We are one the cruise just before you, will arrive in Copenhagen aug 29 th.....and I agree, I am not interested in the 7 Day cruise in the Baltics either.....Crossing fingers....

this cruise is more likely to Take place than the one I have booked in May 🤞🏼🤞🏼

I still doubt the ship will ask for mandatory vaccine before boarding, as there, obviously will not be enough vaccine in such a short time.....

I am still not planning to be first in Line for it....it has been made so fast, compared to usual time for making a reliable vaccine, but everyone may do What they feel for.

lets all cross fingers for a happy new year without Alot of restrictions!

  6. It is ALWAYS Good news When a useful vaccine is found.
So let us hope for succes, for the companies that have worked hard.

Having said that, I am not going to run for a shot, but that is good news for all of those who do want it. Because it is going to Take years before there will be enough material to vaccinate most of the world’s population.

Regarding mandatory shot before cruising, I doubt that cruiselines would Take that step.

Like the flu....If you yourself has taken the shot, why worry If your next door neighbor has not...because you wont get it ( If it works ) right?

if they do ask you to have this shot, I would reconcider my cruising future....as of now have 3 cruises booked in the coming two years.

Living in Denmark, I think we will all ( in due time ) be offered the vaccine, but no one Can tell you that you have to. It might be recommended, like flu, for people over 65 , but never pulled Down on you ( If that is an American expression )

Crossing fingers for the Pandemic to be over with within 2021.

  7. Thx Robandlil.

This is indeed the news that I wanted!

But of course, we do know, that everything may change....

Being able to cancel with that short notice, I feel confident about the Oceania Cruise, I have booked  for August 21 from Stockholm to Copenhagen...a great Baltic cruise, which I really look forward to!

Before that I have a May cruise with Azamara....I doubt they have the same great standard
    Do anyone know for sure?

  8. A lot of comments to the topic: future ships’ tours in this thread are not really comments that belong here,  in my opinion.

it started with questions, whether Oceania would allow individual tours, or only mandatory cruise ship bubble tours......and now people write about trips to different places in the US or to getting a vaccine.

Have a nice weekend everyone....and lets cross fingers for individual tours also allowed in the future.

    kind regards from Denmark

( I too love land trips in the US and other places, by the way 👌🏻)

I think this is a huge question. You signed up for a specific thing. And once/if it starts up, you gotta know it's not going to be the same. So I think the refund question is going to be a big one.

As of now, this is also a concern for me. I have no idea how things work after final payment.

we have never cancelled a cruise before. We have 3 cruises booked,  2 in 2021 and one in 2022. First cruise is May1 and final payment is Dec 30th. It is a lot of money, so.?...
If the cruise line cancel, I know I will probably get a future cruise credit instead....BUT what if I want to cancel??

  10. Like many other cruisers, we like to do things on our own while in ports.

It would be a NO Thank you from us, If forced to go on ships’ tours.

Having said that, we already have a booked ( first for us, on Oceania) May 2021 in the Baltic.
I have looked at the offered tours, and agree with people saying Oceania needs to up their game, but to make it easy on ourselves, we will book Oceania tours while in St. Petersburg, to avoid the hazzle of getting visas ourselves.
If people still do the basic things to avoid Covid 19, I think it will be safe to do independent tours. Also, now doctors know how to better cope with the disease...so an individual being sick could undergo treatment right away....hopefully, without the whole ship being banned from further ports.

Testing people before boarding is not even a sure Way to detect If someone is sick.

some tests are positive negative and visa versa......and here in Europe there is now proof that some have been hit by Covid 19 for the second time within 6 months!

This virus will probably mutate over and over, like other vira do, and we will have to Cope with it for years to come!

This should not stop us from living, but be responsible and follow government requirements.
