  1. Seafood Tower ($19 upcharge) 3.5 out of 5 Forks. Lobster Tail was perfect, Stone Crab and Shrimp were ok to good, we skipped the mussels and Clams that were supposed to come with it.

But you guys were Star Class, it was included right? I read somewhere else that this replaced the upgrade to the dry aged steak, which last time we sailed Star Class that upgrade was included. sailing Star again next year and wanted to make sure this was included

  2. So I can't compare to the ship excursions because we only did private (we would rather work on our own schedule with three kids). We were very happy with our tours.

On St. Thomas, we used lion in da sun (http://www.lionindasun.com). It was wonderful. It was around 400-450 for half day. He took us to three snorkeling spots and we stopped at the coolest bar/restaurant that was really had to take a boat to get to. The captain (I can't remember his name) worked with our 8 year old on how to snorkel which was priceless.

On St. Kitts, we hired a driver/tour guide. He took us around the island, to the batik company, to the fortress and then to a snorkeling spot/beach restaurant. It was so cool at the snorkeling spot, there were wild monkeys. I thought the kids would never leave! We used Thenford Grey (http://www.thenfordgreytours.com/home.html). Cost was $365 including admission to the above stops.

We were in 8730 so same size as yours. Just incredible. The deck is just amazing. You can also ask your Genie if there are any onboard tours you would like. We were able to go on a galley tour (amazing how big the kitchen is) and a bridge tour.

The cost of private tours is really island dependent. We are going to St. Maarten this summer and it is more than double.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

This is fantastic information, thank you so much for taking the time to detail this for us!!

Did you book all of these on your own, or through your Genie once you go on the boat?

Oh and what was your Genie's name. We just got contacted by ours, Allan Fajardo. We are so excited to meet him

  3. We were on the 8th floor last August. 2 Adults and 3 kids. It was our first cruise and it was amazing. You will have a ton of space. Would highly recommend doing at least one dinner and one breakfast on the deck. Your genie will take care of everything. Just have an idea of where you would like to eat and he will arrange everything about 2 weeks out. We (my husband and I) never ate in the mdr, but the kids did once. We really enjoyed the signature restaurants.

I would recommend getting on the ship early. We were on the ship with luggage in our room and sitting down at giovanni's by noon. Please send any questions.

Our stops were St. Kitts and St. Thomas. We did private tours there (not from the cruise planner). If you are interested, I can get you that info too.

Can you tell me in comparison to the regular excursions/tours you can do through the cruise planner, is the cost for private ones a lot more. We were waiting to book excursions so we can do this with our Genie, thinking he will have good insight on what to do and what not to do. Thought about private ones, but was afraid the price may be crazy high.

Also, which room were you in? Was this Oasis. We are in 8330 at the end of May. First time with Star Class, and we have several first time cruisers coming with us. So excited about all of the extra perks included!!

  4. Just returned yesterday, we stayed in the Aquatheater Suite 9330 on the Allure. Our Genie was Susan, and she was amazing! The entire Star Class experience was top-notch and we will definitely do again.

First, embarkation was a breeze. Susan met us at the Star Class check-in promptly at 11:00 am as I requested via Loop with Susan the day before. She escorted us through check-in, which is separate from other guests. We then were taken to the Suite waiting area in the terminal. The wait here was approximately 15 minutes, just until the ship was cleared for boarding. A Genie came and escorted all the suite guests in a group up to the Suite lounge on Deck 17, where we were then greeted again by Susan. She walked us to our suite. The entire process from cab to cabin was 25 minutes!

The room was amazing and Susan had Champagne, and white wine chilling along with chocolate covered strawberries and fresh horde''vors. Susan prepared an agenda for the week and had it ready for us to review as soon as we got to our suite. We made a few minor adjustments and the week was set.

Dinner, Shows, Entertainment and Special Celebrations: Susan did everything for us! Nothing was booked in advance. Completely worry free. We utilized the email link and Loop ap prior to sailing to relay any special requests we had. We let the schedule up to Susan and she was able to change, cancel and adjust as needed throughout the week as plans changed.

We were celebrating an anniversary and birthdays this week and Susan arranged cakes and gifts to be delivered to our stateroom as well!

We ate at a specialty restaurant every night. We also did the Hibachi grill and Sabor for lunch. We had (4) teenage boys traveling with us, and they ate at Johnny Rockets every single day, sometimes twice a day. Not a single charge to your account.

The shows were a breeze as well, Susan had seats reserved for us. She scheduled the shows and times according our dinner reservations.

Flow Rider: Our teenage boys "lived" at the flowrider, never wanting to stop. The staff insisted they go in the star class line. On busy days, the staff had 3 surfers ride per 1 Star class rider. The last night is a FlowRide Best-of-the-Best competition. It was a lot of fun and Jake from our group won and was able to sign the board of champions!

Laundry and Press: This was a special treat. We sent laundry out twice and it was returned the same day. This amenity made unpacking at home a breeze.

Debarkation: During the cruise, in St. Thomas, we had a private boat charter that was scheduled to meet us as soon as the boat docked, and Susan our Genie was very helpful in organizing a quick disembarkation from the ship so we were not late meeting our driver. We planned this with Susan a week prior to the cruise. The last day of the cruise, we had a 10am flight and Susan greeted us in our cabin and escorted us off the ship. Total time from cabin to cab was 15minutes.

Please feel free to ask any specific questions about the room. We had (4) adults and (4) teens in the cabin. It was so spacious and the balcony is indescribable!! We spent the majority of our time on our balcony. We did not want to leave and explore the ship.

    Hope you enjoy your cruise!

I have a goofy question about the laundry service. I am pretty picky about how my clothes are washed and dried. I use scented detergent and fabric softener, and hang dry many things in order to prevent shrinking. Can you give me your feedback on the laundry piece? I know most places such as hotels use scent free in order to decrease possible skin irritations, which for me means no yummy fresh scent smells:) I hate to waste their time and have them wash all of our clothes, to then turn around and rewash them all when we get home.

  5. I just read the review to which you were most likely referring. While it seems that the service they received was not quite up to standards (the nut allergy), I do think maybe they didn't quite understand the offering in general. I've had four different Genies, as I mentioned in another post. Rarely do they show up with something "special." Their job isn't to show up with unexpected treats or invite you to special things out of thin air. It's to help make your every wish come true. They are basically a personal concierge who will do their best to make your cruise what you want it to be.

Also, I think that poster is also using a very out of date description of Genie services. Frankly I'd be humiliated to ask any of my Genies to unpack for me or shine my shoes. It's just not their job. One of those things that, in practice, turned out to be different than maybe it was on paper. They are not butlers, but rather really connected VIP hosts.

Importantly, I've had some Genies who proactively will try to help you with your day, while others require a bit more "management." Either way, you need to be forthcoming with your Genie about your expectations and stay in contact on a regular basis. Don't email them. Call their phone extension. It's the best way.

Here are some of the things where they've been helpful:

    - Arranging special/unique room service deliveries from speciality dining venues

    - Reserving seats at the shows, bars and nightclubs

    - Booking/managing dinner reservations as needed

    - On-board activities (Flowrider, etc)

    - Last minute requests to ensure your wait time is minimal (i.e. want to eat at Sabor in 20 minutes? Call the Genie, they'll have a table ready)

    - Assistance planning unique Shore Excursions (both private and public)

    - Guest Services assistance (expediting the queue should you need to visit GS, resolving account inquiries, etc)

    - Escorting you off the ship at your designated time

    - Party planning

One of my biggest concerns is the perks that were originally listed when we booked, that have disappeared. Some of the big ones for us was access to the Thermal Suite in the spa and Starbucks. Do you think it would put the Genie in an awkward position if I asked to have these perks for our group. I know there is fine print in the program that says the perks are subject to change, but wasn't sure if the Genie could pull some strings.

  6. Regular Customer Service person was a bit worthless, so I called Club Royale. Megan was extremely helpful. It is true that amenities have changed due to lack of interests and no they will not automatically grandfather them in based on the time of booking. However, she stressed that when your Genie reaches out to you to express your hopes of a particular amenity that you would have liked that is no longer listed, and ask if they can make it happen. For example, when we booked the Thermal Room was included for the whole week. This was huge in my boat, and especially for my mother as an extra surprise to her for her 70th and first cruise ever. Spoil her while you can right:) Megan felt like this should be an easy enough request for our Genie to make happen for us. Fingers crossed:)

  7. Does anyone have a recent copy of the Cruise Compass for the 7 night Eastern Caribbean Oasis of the Seas cruise that can be printed. I have found several links out there, but they are either uploaded using a site that will not allow printing, or they are in a PDF one page at a time. If possible it would be nice to print all 44 or so pages in one shot rather than one page at a time.

    Thank you!
