  1. Thank you for your advice. We are booked on the very same Capri tour you mentioned...not interested in the Grotto..would rather spend the time tasting the cuisines, wines and sampling that olive oil. We will look into the olive oil tour sounds like it might be fun. Definitely will do the climb as well. Can't wait...only a few more weeks...never wanted summer to be over so fast before 😎

  2. Thank you for your response. The barbecue night is wonderful! Maybe on the new ships we won't need to bring the fancy clothes. We were on the Surf from Barcelona to Rome and the last evening the crew put on a show in the main lounge. Very talented CrewI might add. It was fun and lots of dancing after the show. But people were dressed up. Might just be something they do on the Surf.

  3. Hi

We will be on the Breeze in September for the classic Italy and Dalmation Coast...very excited to visit these ports and to be on the new Breeze!

Any tips for ports would be welcomed.....

A question about the new ships....do they have a last night party as they do on the Surf? If so what is the typical dress code? I know there is no code per se,however when we were on the Surf most people were dressed in cocktail dresses and jackets ...this may have been a result of Monte Carlo being on that trip and people had those clothes with them. I would like to know your experience with this if you have been on The Classic Italy trip??

None of the recent reviews..though few..have mentioned this party...at which the crew is the entertainment...maybe they do not do this on the new ships???

The last evening party on the Surf was so much fun...the talented crew were amazing, lots of dancing...wish they did it more nights!

  4. Thank you for your review! We will be taking the same cruise in September and can't wait! This will be our second Windstar Cruise -- the first on Wind Surf from Barcelona to Rome which was amazing!! We couldn't find fault with anything... which is why we are cruising again with Windstar.

On that cruise, there was an end of cruise party with the entire crew providing entertainment -- many, many talented people onboard -- lots of dancing and lots of fun. Most passengers were dressed up -- cocktail party dresses -- even some gowns -- men in jackets. Did you experience this on your cruise? Or was this more casual? Our first cruise included Monte Carlo, so that may be the reason why so many people had more formal clothes... your input would be appreciated, so that we bring the proper clothing.

Perhaps the crew will be too new to do this?? That may also explain the service you experienced -- new crew trying to get the kinks out?? We found the staff most attentive on our last trip, obviously more experienced than you found. But I'm sure that will come with time on the newer ships.

We are older -- just a tad -- and enjoy not having the Vegas atmosphere offered on most larger ships -- we go to Vegas twice a year for that. Port-intensive itinerary and laid back romantic evenings are perfect for us, so the light music entertainment and a cocktail is a very enjoyable way to end a busy day.

Do you have any tips for the ports?? Places to see -- cheaper on-shore tours -- places to eat?
