  1. I've said I would post an example of the daily live music schedule:

It's long ( I wish I knew how to screen shot the "Today" - it would be so much easier) so here goes.

This is JUST the live music starting before dinner-ish and it's a port day:

4:45 - 5:30 Island Music with Michael Redden (solo guitarist) poolside

5:30 - 6:15 Four Elements Dance Band Grand Foyer

    6:15 - 7:45 DJ Mace Martini Bar

    7:00 - 7:45 Performer in Eclipse Theater

    7:15 - 9:00 Ballroom Music Sky Lounge

7:45 - 8:30 Decameron Strings Classical Duo Ensemble Lounge

7:45 - 8:45 Back Before Sunset House Band Foyer

    8:45 - 9:30 Michael Redden Ensemble

    9:00 - 9:45 Performer in eclipse Theater

9:45- 10:30 Passion Duo (they're REALLY good!!!) Acoustic Duo in Ensemble

9:45 - 10:30 Dance Band in the Foyer

10:00 Silent Disco Deck Party Poolside

    10:00 -11:00 DJ in Quasar

10:00 -10:45 House Band in Sky Lounge

    10:15 Comedian in Eclipse

10:45 - Late (Midnight-ish) Passion Duo in Ensemble

10:45 - Late Four Elements Dance BAnd in Foyer

11:00 -Late Back Before Sunset House Band in Sky

11:45 - Late DJ in Quasar

Last night and many other nights we've had live performances from the various duos and bands on board in Celebrity Central at 10:15.

It's an innovation Eddie the CD and Roman the band director have come up with and it's a WONDERFUL addition and has been packed each time.

There is also a Hot Glass show from 9:00 - 11:00 tonight (and almost every night)

On past cruises there has been almost nothing to do past 10pm but on this cruise there is so much going on that I have to choose between several things.

It's such a wonderful feeling of "life" and fun!

4 Elements were a favorite music hang for our 2 week cruise last month

  2. After dinner last night we walked by Martini Bar and it was packed so it was a good excuse to go to World Class Bar and see Vasil and Toni at the bar. If you’re on the Eclipse soon be sure to say hello to them. The world Class bar was also crowded with most of the tables full. Most of the drinks there take a while to make so they were definitely working hard.

This morning we had a bridge tour arranged by Sara. I started with a drink by the pool bar and gave a thank you card to Dhinesh though I realized I spelled his name horribly wrong in the card.

I had my drink and Edward came to meet me and we walked to Deck 10 forward elevators and met for the tour. You had to show photo ID to security and sign in plus get wanded by security.

The bridge tour was given by the captain. He gave a quick education on the mechanics of the ship and opened it up to questions. It was definitely very interesting and it was nice being able to ask any question.

The group was small. Maybe 16 people?

  3. No don’t reconsider at all. It was just an off night I think but either way I’ll comment to the proper people on board so it’s noted. Our food was fantastic and our waiter was pretty good. Just seems like a few things were off but the restaurant was very crowded that night so people were enjoying it. In total of our 20+ Murano dinners they’ve been amazing. You’ll enjoy it.

Thanks so much for all your wonderful feedback..

If you got the Murano menu from last night could you post it?

  4. Last night our dinner was in Murano. We had this booked specifically for the steak Diane. As long as you give them a days notice it can be arranged for you and is absolutely delicious. Our waiter told us that it was on the very original menu but pulled off and is now used as a “secret” item.

Overall I was a little disappointed in my Murano experience last night. We’ve eaten in Murano around 25 times in our sails with Celebrity and I’ve always felt from a service aspect that Murano rivaled the best of the best restaurants. Last night it felt like I was in any half way decent restaurant. Our waiter was good (and cooked a great steak Diane) but service elsewhere seemed lacking. For example we ordered a white wine to start (Sancerre on the by the glass menu which they’re out of but had a similar substitute). At the same time told our waiter we wanted two glasses of the Freemark Abbey Cabernet with our steak. Our sommelier didn’t know about this but more importantly he didn’t seem to care. When the steak was about to arrive we were informed they were out of the freemark abbey and offered Decoy or Kendall Jackson. Neither of which are comparable substitutes. Just as a point of reference the freemark is an additional $8 per glass over premium. So clearly we didn’t care about price. When I pushed the sommelier for a better option he just kind of stood there. Edward then made a comment about a wine Victor (sommelier from Luminae) gave us and the sommeliers attitude changed. He brought out an excellent blend that had beautiful flavor. I know this may sound like a petty complaint but it was irritating that he couldn’t show some enthusiasm about his job from the start. The purpose of the sommelier is to be there to help you have a wonderful wine. If they’re not going to do that then they are just a beverage waiter. Our experience with our sommelier in Luminae and the sommelier in Tuscan has been amazing. I hope he was just having a bad night.

In all of my times eating in Murano the Maitri D has always gone around to the tables and checked on the guests. They have also ALWAYS opened the door for you upon exiting the restaurant and we’re very gracious when you left after dinner. None of this happened.

While we’ve eaten in Murano dozens of times many people do not. They go for a special evening and an incredible experience. This is the draw of Murano. This needs to be consistent across the board regardless of your cabin type or what kind of wine you order.

So that is the end of my rant. Thank you for letting me vent. I will mention this to our staff in Luminae just so they can hopefully improve. Again this could be a simple one off but it should be noted either way.

On the other end of the spectrum our food was fantastic. We started with the cheese plate and I had the salmon and crab parfait which my favorite. Edward had the lobster bisque. Then we had the steak Diane. The steak was cooked absolutely perfect, truly perfect. And the sauce was amazing. Plus it is always fun to watch them do this table side.

I booked a specialty dining 5 pack for our upcoming cruise..my intention is to arrange with the concierge, once on board, for all those meals to be at Murano on sea days ..

I mainly want to do this cause we have never been in Murano and have dined at Tuscan & Qzine on several occasions.. also there were several different entries on the Murano menu that I wanna try..

Based on your overall experience would you suggest I consider otherwise ?02d4da039b160a544bfc5c9ceec025af.jpg

  5. We disembarked the Equinox earlier this week. Our friends were in 2155 and we were in corner aft 9299. Even though our cabin was a corner and had the side porthole window I preferred 2155. I liked that when you walked in to the cabin you could see the ocean while in 9299 the sliding glass door wall was angled and didn't afford the same view and generally felt smaller.

2155 did have a deep overhang which was nice on this cruise as the 9299 veranda had no (or very, very little) overhang so was to hot to enjoy.

2155 also had more storage than 9299. 9299 had only one closet for hanging clothes and 2155 had two. Our friends were not bothered by noise.

    Thanks Your feedback is appreciated

  6. We're booked on Equinox All That Jazz-11 Day Jazz Fest Cruise(first time as elite after 5 Mclass X cruises) in aft sky suite 2155 .. though I do have concerns about the overhang completely blocking sun (to say nothing of chair dragging noise from sunset bar above).

  7. We had 1130 on the Summit and loved it. There's plenty of shade and people from below have to really look hard to see you on your balcony. There is a canopy that hangs over most of the bar so it's not like someone can be right below you and see you easily. It's my understanding that there's now no smoking allowed at the Oceanview Bar on some ships but I don't know if it's fleet-wide. If that's the case, I might be more inclined to take 1133 as I think they've added a stairway up to Deck 12 to the movies on the side by 1130.

Just got off Summit.. smoking has been eliminated at sunset bar and that stairway (actually 2 one port & one starboard) has been there since the Aqua refit 4 years ago

Sorry (misunderstood) those are stairs from 10 to 11

There is a new staircase to 12 is on the port side forward of the Aqua cabins) and the one on starboard is aft nearby 1133

  8. I just upgraded from a C3 to A1 in 1133. We've never had an aft balcony and are really looking forward to it with some trepidation. My husband can get queasy but I'm hoping that a seaband, Bonine, and calm Southern Caribbean seas should prevent any issues. We sail on Summit 11/19/2016 and will post a review of this cabin post-cruise.

Just 40 days till we board the Celebrity Summit, under the able command of Master Mariner, Captain Kate McCue!, for our 14 day suite -class cruise to New England & Canada... Photo%20Aug%2007%2C%2012%2029%2028%20PM.jpg?dl=0

  10. Well I hope to see you on the ship! And Congrats! I have 2 agents watching for another AFT to open. I would love 1140 or 1141, they both look cool. Ive read that link you posted http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1629443

Was reading that months ago cause I was curios how the deck 11 cabins looked and it is so hard to find pics of them. That was a great post for anyone looking to stay on deck 11. Have a great day!

Can't wait to hang my travel hammock on those two posts across 1138 mid balcony:D

  11. AVID- So Jealous! Was trying forever to get one of the Aft Aft Deck 11 cabins (1133, 1141, 1140, 1138, 1130) for that cruise. How early and were did you book? I did get a Starboard side cabin on that cruise but am going to try for an Aft Aft next year.

I know how you feel..as i was similarly envious of those in Aft during our last Summit cruise in late May/ early June..Actually, I couldn't get it when I booked originally booked the apr 27 2013 REPO cruise in June and had to settle for 1136:mad: but I asked to be wait listed for any one of the 5 aft cabins...then one day during the summer LOVESMIST on our roll call emailed me to let me know that one of our fellow roll call members was releasing her booking on 1138 :)so I called X and got it swapped...just a stroke of luck..and a benefit of being connected to the roll call..I guess..I am so looking forward to it..::D

  12. I'm most concerned about the privacy issue. Can people from the bar see you from below? Supposedly there's a staircase right next to the room - is it an outdoor staircase? I'm thinking that since this is above everything it should be ok, but after reading other posts about the changes on other M-class ships getting kind of nervous. If anyone has any info, please share!!!

I booked 1138 for my next summit cruise ( was in 1128 on the last one and spent most of my time in the great Aft bar as pictured below...so looking forward to spending time above it:rolleyes: )

  13. Yes, the balconies were great, on the 3 in the middle- and the cabins are quite compact, and i think they did a very poor design in the storage dept.... so, if you book one of these- keep that in mind--- tiny drawers,, no desk drawer,, minimal shelf space.

Hate to disagree with a future fellow traveler ..but as a self acknowledged "rat packer" I took more stuff than I could ever use..not just clothing but camera and entertainment equipment, travel hammock, inflatable foot rests ( plus lots of wound care supplies as I was nursing a nasty dog bite at the time:eek:).

We came on board with two LARGE suitcases, a large rolling duffel bag and a carry-on roller board ( easy to do when no flights are involved) and I found a place for everything out of sight by the time I hosted a cabin crawl for a couple of fellow revelors during the sail away held just below at the Aft bar...just sayin...
