  1. Just back from June 9th cruise on Riviera where we sailed with 4 couples. In the past we have chosen the House Select wine and beer package but decided to try the new 7 bottle wine purchase. The selections were not great but well enough to enjoy with our meals. The biggest complaint we all had, was the confusion on finding our purchased bottle. I took 35 minutes one evening to get our wine poured. We are of the opinion, a "Drink Order" first, then we will give our food order. If you didn't finish your bottle and wanted it saved for another meal, they had to go down below and find your cabin number on the saved bottle. As with the other beverage packages, preference seems to be given to those who are ordering off the wine list and I'm sure purchasing more expensive wines. The service in this department is very poor!

  2. We sailed on the Thanksgiving Insignia cruise and this was our 7th cruise with Oceania and our 49th total. We were very disappointed with this sailing. We had the beer/wine package for dinning room only and it was almost impossible to get a glass refilled. They would rather serve the tables where they were buying expensive bottles. The dress code was more like Pizza Party than Country Club Casual. Be prepared if you have to visit the ships doctor. My husband's bill was $940.00 for an office visit and one antibiotic. We are sailing again over New Year's and have picked another line.

  3. Just got off Insigna yesterday and while I know it was a Holiday Cruise with many families, I have to say how disappointed we were with the casualness of the attire worn in the Grand Dinning room. More people look like they were going out for pizza than having dinner at a fine restaurant. And if they have a "No Jeans" rule, it was not enforced! One of the reasons we have also sailed on Oceania, along with Regent and Crystal, was the upscale feeling you had about your fellow guests. The pictures in the brochures looking nothing like the real world in cruising today. If you are worried about bringing a sport coat, don't, it isn't about comfort, it's about taste.
