  1. I am trying to book excursions for our family Carnival Vista cruise in March. But whenever I try to book through the Carnival website, for my 3 year old it will say "not available for purchase". He met the age requirement, it's not free for his age, nor do I see any other restriction. What could be going on? Do I need to Contact Carnival directly?

  2. I am trying to convince a friend to go on our cruise with me next year. Does anyone have Carnival Vista Funtimes (Roatan, Belize, Cozumel), Penguin's activity schedule, and MDR dining menus? we found some stuff but she wants to see exact (even though I told her it could change or be the same who knows... lol)

Sorry it took so long to get back with you, I had a chance to look around and through our pictures.  Unfortunately, we didn't keep or take a picture of the bloomin schedule.  They do vary depending on the length of cruise you take and what ports.  They usually have some sort of party everyday and every evening.  They do movies, arts and crafts, and so forth.  They will usually have 1 to 2 build a bear workshops towards the end of the cruise.  Nana spoiled the Boises and took them to both 😁.

Thanks for checking! 🙂 I hope my kids like it enough to give mom and dad some time. ha ha!

  4. Thanks for your review! Husband, sister and I are taking my 5-year-old daughter and 3-year-old son next February on a similar itinerary (your original) SO I am definitely looking forward to your feedback.

    Excited to read more!

PS-if you happen to have the Camp Ocean Penguins activity schedule, I would love to take a look at it 🙂

As others have said, Mahogany Bay is a Carnival section of Roatan.  Of course, you can venture out.  If you take any private excursions here, you have to hoof it to the gate at the end of Carnival land to meet them (if I remember right).  Other lines dock at the port near Thicket.

Belize is a tender port - and the tender is a 20+ minute ride from the ship to the port.  Some excursions leave from the ship instead of port.  From what I understand, there isn't really much of a public beach area, but could be wrong.

    Cozumel is a shared port.

At Roatan we did the Carnival Clear Kayak, Snorkeling & Gumbalimba Park (which included the monkey encounter).  Good tour guide.  Not the most exciting snorkeling, but not bad.  Gumbalimba park was neat.

At Belize we did the Carnival Xunatunich Mayan ruins.  This involves a two hour bus ride to the location (and eventually back!).   There is a stop for lunch on the way back which is included IIRC.  This was an amazing excursion...though there is a chance you could get there and if it's too wet due to rain, not be able to go on the ruins for safety.  Our guide realized it looked like something was coming and got us up on the big ruin first and then did the walk around guided tour.

At Cozumel, we did our own thing, wanting a simple cheap beach day.  We went to Paradise Beach.  Ended up being cheaper than all four of us on a Carnival excursion, but still more than expected...but loads of fun.  We found it on twitter I think, since only internet we had was the social feed!

I will have a 3 and a 5-year-old, so I really want to do Gumbalimba park. but if it's a carnival developed beach, will it be much less crowded than say, Cozumel? cause that might be nice.

  6. They must have had more open for our Cruise. I was more than a few hours out after I saw the announcement on here, and went to buy it for my cruise and it was still available. They also open more slots as time goes on, so keep watch on it even after it is sold out.

Also--since I have a Family Harbor Suite--I might cancel mine because the only added benefit is having our rooms ready when we get on. So there might be people like me.

  7. We actually booked two balconies and then went down to an FH Suite. We have 3 adults and a 3 and 5 year olds. We think we'll be fine cause we've shared one bathroom before LOL. but I wouldn't do it with kids older. though. We go on our cruise in February, so we can tell you if it sucked or not.

Each person in room gets a liter of water each. If you have kids under 10 I believe they get a free night owls stay and a free meal at one of the specialty restaurants. So nothing major really assuming this is still the same. We were in a suite on Oct 2017.

Thank you for your response! Did you board with the other Suites?

  9. My family and I are going on the Carnival Vista next February and booked a Family Harbor Suite. I know you have the Family Harbor perks, but does the room have similar perks as other Suites? Other than getting the room early, are there any other benefits to getting FTTF if we have suite benefits with the room? Thanks 🙂

  10. In a cove balcony--do you feel your view is obstructed? I have been in an upper balcony before and loved being able to see through the see-through wall. But I feel like in a cove your view is more obstructed. But we have a family harbor suite so it's a cove. I am super excited regardless, but just curious.

  11. We went with the two balconies. 11277 and 11281 connecting balconies where you can open up the divider :D so excited!

2 balconies. In addition to what everyone else pointed out, what are the chances there is not another child or man in your group by 2020?

You are funny :P Definitely no kids and my sister won't bring a man on board on this cruise --unless someone wins a million dollars.

  12. Hello! I don't think I have very many posts on CC, but I am a frequent lurker. I love cruising, but not able to do it much. I have sailed twice, Once for my honeymoon on the Carnival Splendor in Dec 2010. Then my sister and my 7-month-old went on RCCL's Freedom of the Seas Feb 2015.

Finally, we are booking a cruise on Carnival Vista Feb 2020. It will be me (36), DH (42), my sister (28), DD (5), DS (3 and a half). We are torn about what rooms to book.

Family Harbour Suite-- Cheaper option. Nice to be in one room together, plus all the FH perks. But I am reading a lot about noise complaints because these are just below the Galley. If we use Sound machines to sleep, will it still be pretty bad? We don't need complete silence by any means, but no sleep would make for a lousy vacation.

I am also concerned about the Cove Balcony. On Freedom, we had a deck seven regular balcony, and I LOVED it. I feel like the cove balcony would provide obstructed views when sitting and it would ruin the experience. Am I wrong? Do Coves still offer fantastic views?

Two balconies--No noise and would still have fantastic balcony views. About 700 dollars more expensive. We would lose out on the FH benefits. Also would need to get two separate FTTF. But if we decide to get cheers, My husband could dip out (he doesn't drink much and wouldn't be worth it for him) and stay in the one room with DS, and my sister and I can partake.

So we as a family are stumped. We want to get the Suites but don't want to feel like we got a poor deal for paying 700 less (which is a lot of money, but not much considering cruise vacation). Any help would be appreciated.
