On a cruise out of Houston last year, I remembered during our layover in Atlanta that my insulin was at home in the fridge. We got to Houston late - after the pharmacies were closed. The next morning (the day of the cruise) we were at a Sam's Club when the doors opened. They transferred my prescription to that store, refilled it, and we left there and still made it to the port by noon. Lesson learned! There's entirely too many carbs on the boat ride to not have any insulin. :)

We checked our luggage with a place right beside the marketplace and bought Big Bus Miami tickets. It is hop-on hop-off service and there are multiple routes to choose from. It was a great way to see all of Miami. We then Uber'd to MIA. Good times.

Just to confuse things - a few years ago when the Spirit was sailing out of NOLA, the ship's time never changed. They made announcements that the port time was not the same as ships time, and be careful to remember that. Maybe they don't do that anymore? I can see too many people have a few too many cocktails, watching the bar clock!

We're flying into LGA the day before our cruise, and have booked the Kimpton 48 Hotel which is literally 1 block from the port. (11th Ave at 48th) What is the best way to get from the airport? Taxi? Uber? Private car service (and any recommendations)? Thanks!

We stayed at the Kimpton Ink 48. If you look online, it is literally a 1 block walk from the cruise terminal. Very nice hotel, in the $250 range. Once onboard, I took photos of the hotel from the ship.
