  1. We had cabin #6459 and loved it (extra long balcony, aft), but we were on the wrong side of the ship. The even numbered cabins are the way to go on this trip. Fortunetly our friends had the cabin next to us #6461, an aft wrap, so we opened up our balcony divider and were able to enjoy the great aft views.

That's good to know! We'll be in an 8D Balcony cabin, #8324 this Sunday! I can't believe it's already here! We were in a balcony the last time we were on the Victory though it was #6232, so I've never been on the other side :) Gosh I'm excited!

  2. 7 days to go for me. You could say I am "on deck." :D

The ports of call section is indeed filled with invaluable info. I am not sure what interests you, but based upon what I have read these are popular tours and ones I have actually done:

    St. Lucia- Cosol's Tour

Barbados- Silver Moon Catamaran snorkle with the turtles (there are a few companies that do this tour

St. Thomas-Airforce 1 (Papa Bear)- island tour and Coki Beach (you actually get your choice of beach)

Antigua- Eli's Circumnav Tour (they also have an Eco Tour which is popular)

    Dominica- Bumping Tour

All of these you will find in the ports of call section and if you do a google or yahoo search, you should find their actually websites.

    Happy Cruising

We'll be on Silver Moon exactly a week after you :) Have a great time!! My MIL and FIL have done this and recommended it to us, so we're hoping it'll be nice and relaxing :) After Dominica, and our crazy adventurous day with Bumpiing Tours, we'll need the relaxation I think :)

  3. Can anyone tell me if the Victory has a Serenity Deck? Or adults only deck?

Also, on this itinerary, is there any DON'T MISS things to do in the ports?

    Thanks!

I don't remember them having one in 2005, but don't hold me to that. There's the "adults only" pool, which I put in quotes because even though it's adults only, there are still some children. Plus it's where the pizza is and two ice cream machines, so there will be kids running around in there either way (though I will say the lack of kids walking along the side of the pool splashing their feet is better :))

  4. I was sitting with no work to do because they'd made this decisions months ago. They were just waiting until the end of the month.

Had to work me like the proverbial dog during tax season with those 70 hours weeks, then toss me to the curb when they decided they could pay someone else less because they have less experience.

But thanks for the sympathy/empathy. :(

Now to update the resume and send it out, then I'll start working on my review.

Gosh I'm sorry to hear about that. The economy is picking up a bit, so hopefully something will pop up very soon for you. I hope you got some sort of severance package (and that it was considered a lay off and not a firing so you can collect unemployment). Good luck!

    Good GRIEF!

Don't you people have Labor Laws in your country?!

    .

LOL -- yes, but that's not unheard of -- in fact that's pretty much the norm during tax season for some people.

  5. aplmac, I love the pictures you post!! Keep 'em coming, it gets me excited about my vacation :) 4 weeks from today we'll have checked in and be exploring more of San Juan, wahoo!

Also, how do they determine dining rooms? We had the Atlantic dining room last time...I'd kind of like Pacific this time :p

  6. Thank you to both. It's one bottle per person, correct? We were hoping to bring the Dom P and a bottle of red. When we did supper club on the Valor they charged the corkage fee, so I was anticipating that.

Any idea from anyone on the formal night attire in the Supper Club on formal night -- is it consistent with everything else?

  7. I have a couple questions. My DH and I have sailed on the Conquest before, but it was almost five years ago and we were definitely more party mode than we are now (even two years ago prior to marriage we were, LOL -- amazing how that happens, isn't it?) I was curious from anyone who has done the supper club on Carnival. Anyhow, our first wedding anniversary is formal night on our cruise, and we were just talking about doing this. We did it on the Valor in 2006 and it was good, but I do want to hear from someone who has done this on the Conquest.

Secondly, since it is formal night, we aren't going to look silly if I'm in my long formal dress and he is in a tuxedo, correct? Same rules apply or no? I love getting dressed up for formal night, and I thought it would be really nice for us to get a photo that night all dolled up :)

I love the Conquest, it's hands down my favorite ship (including port intinerary), so I can't even explain how excited I am that we have booked (finished booking about a half hour ago) this and will be on it for our first anniversary :)

edit: We have a bottle of Dom that we got as a wedding gift and we want to use it on this night (it is a very special night, after all), and my next question is -- can we give that to them in advance so it will be chilled for us and ready to go at the supper club?
