  1. Hello! Thanks for your wonderful review and beautiful pictures!

Cafe Promenade - Is the coffee, pastries and sandwiches all complimentary? I'm assuming that Ben and Jerry's is not? And is the cafe open 24 hrs?

Victoria - How far is downtown from the port, and is it easily walkable? Did you have to book the castle tour ahead of time? We're just going downtown with really no plans in mind...just walking and hanging around ;-)

    Thanks :-)

Its a shame but luckily its only 25 DKK extra per card if you order it online.

We may have to order the card online. But if for some reason we don't get one online, I'm assuming there are ticket kiosks in the station since the office will be closed when we arrive? BTW, will there limited trains since it's after 11pm? Also, my concern is safety at night ... our hotel is supposed to be 5-10 mins walk from the Central Station.

Thanks for sharing your wealth of information :-)

  3. There is never a shortage of taxis at CPH, and the lines are divided by normal taxis and big taxis.

But the train takes you directly from the airport to the central station and is alot cheaper.

Its a little bit more expensive to order the card but if you are planning on using public transportation on arrival you have to do it because DSB's ticket office closes at 22:00 and the airports info center closes at 23:00 so you don't have the time to get the card.

Thanks for the info. Too bad we're arriving late ...:(

  4. Convenience versus most economical?? Much might depend on how much luggage you have. We took a cab from airport. Very quick, easy, simple, right to the door of our hotel. BUT, it could be a little cheap to use public transportation as the Danish viking can detail and explain. More time and work with this public transit option. After our long, long flights and limited sleep, it was nice for us to just walk out of the Copenhagen air terminal (very nice buildings), grab a cab and be there at our hotel direct and quick. We were leaving on a 15-day cruise and had more than just one small bag per person. Your choice!!

    THANKS! Enjoy! Terry in Ohio

    Thanks, Terry in Ohio!

Taking a cab and getting to the hotel quickly does sound good after a long flight :-) Are cabs readily available, especially that late at night? Or should I book one ahead of time?

  5. Hello! We plan to stay at Ron Jon Resort after our cruise in August. My husband thinks that renting a car right after the cruise and driving to the hotel is a waste of money since we'll most likely stay put and have the kids enjoy the pools and beach at the hotel. The van will just "sit" at the parking lot. However, we will have a rental van for our drive back to the airport after our stay at Ron Jon's.

I heard that there are no other restaurants or grocery stores that are walking distance from the hotel. Will that be a problem not having any transportation? Is the hotel close to a bus stop, at least?

    Please advise.

    Thanks :-)

  6. From the Auckland airport ,to the cruise terminal,

(without traffic hassles) you are looking at about 20/30 minutes , direct taxi ride.

My suggestion for anyone arriving in Auckland in the morning and heading to the cruise terminal is to grab a taxi, and negotiate with the driver to take you there via Cornwall Park.

Its on the way, and will give you a great intro to NZ ,

with sheep and cattle grazing in the fields, and a drive up to the summit of (what was once) One Tree Hill, offers amazing views.

There is no shortage of taxis lined up at the airport, , but I would recommend looking out for the Co-op Taxis, as they are owner drivers.

Thanks for your suggestion. How can we tell a co-op taxi vs. a non co-op one? Is a co-op taxi a better choice?

  7. I've read from the past posts that you can get a taxi, and for $20 (1/2 day) you can get a tour of the city. Has anyone taken a taxi tour in Huatulco recently? Where did you go, did you feel safe, etc? Thanks for any info.
