  1. Looking for hotel recommendations near the port of Miami. A little about what we need, we are a bigger group so will need multiple rooms. We do have kids with us so a hotel with a pool or close to the beach/things to do would be great. We are planning to arrive a few days before we embark on our cruise.  Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Out of curiosity, how much did you pay for the Beach Club cabana (land), and which month are you sailing?

And please, please post a review of how you will have found doing it with a baby! It sounds like a smart thing to do.

I ended up paying $1049, which is crazy expensive however, not only will I have the baby but I am also pregnant and my father in law is coming with us and he just finished Chemo so he needs to be out of the sun so for us this will be worth the price. We wanted to do the over-water but on our sailing it was $2500 per cabana!! I couldn't justify spending that much money for 8 hours. We will be sailing the week of March 22-29th. We are going for my sister in laws wedding, she is getting married on St. Maarten so I will be sure to do an extensive review of the whole week! We have around 50 people attending the wedding so it should be a great time!

  3. Hi! I know the beach club is new this month as well as the beach club cabanas and over-water cabanas. I just purchased the coco cay beach club cabana (the one on land), I was curious if anyone has had the chance to experience the beach club and/or the cabanas and can give a review or advice? Also, it says it is for up to 8 people however when I purchased it, they only wanted me to put my name for the reservation. Does anyone know when we pick the other people who can also use the cabana with us? We are planning to use it with our friends and family who are also traveling with us (only 8 people of course). We will have our 22 month old daughter with us which is one of the reasons we wanted to have a cabana so she could nap comfortably, is the water pretty calm on that part of the island? Thanks in advance.

  4. We are about to book a room on Harmony of the Seas for my sister in laws wedding. We are bringing our 1 year old and a pack and play for her to sleep in. When booking, for those who have had to use a pack and play before, should we ask for the bed near the balcony or when you first enter the room? Which way is better configured to fit a pack and play, or does it make no difference at all? Just trying to maximize the small space. We will be on deck 10 (since those are the rooms she has blocked off, not sure if that makes a difference). Thank you in advance!

  5. We do this too but I bring along a roll of packaging tape and create a waterproof tag. Very hard for it to be ripped off. I also bring a small pair of scissors in my mini sewing kit and once we have our bags in our stateroom I take the tags off. Easy peasy.

I wait until after the flight to attach the cruise tags. I'm concerned that they might get ripped off as part of the airline handling.

    Thanks!!

  6. When you get to the port it says to staple the paper tags, do you usually do this before you leave home/before the flight or do you wait until after? Also when you get to the port do they have a stapler or how do you usually handle this? I am trying to avoid having to stand in any line as I know it will be packed!

I am going on the Oasis ship, if this makes any difference…

    thanks :)

  7. Are drinks offered at the Haiti destination? Since RC owns that part of the island are the drinks included in the drink package or do you get charged separately?

Out of curiosity if my husband purchases a drink package can he get more than one drink at a time? For example if he wanted 2 daiquiris at one time would they serve him two or would he have to order one and then come back later for another?

  8. Thanks! I thought I had read somewhere on here that people were being charged a corkage fee but I might have mis-read. I forgot to add that we are sailing on the Oasis but since there is no fee on any ship I guess it doesn't matter! hehe

    :D

  9. If we bring bottles of wine on board are we able to open it ourselves in our room for no corkage fee? Or do they confiscate them when we board and open them for us when we want them charging us a corkage fee?

We don't want to be charge a fee when we can bring our own wine key, we just weren't' sure if this was possible to ovoid. Thanks :)

  10. I have the traditional dinning for 6:00pm in the MDR on Oasis in July. We are a group of 15. I know I will not be able to get a table for all of us but wanted two tables next to each other. Does this need to be done in advance? We all booked with the same travel agent and told her we wanted to be seated together. I wasn't sure if we just show up on the first night and tell them our situation or if I need to call customer service before hand (as we do not want to be waiting for dinner). Any help/suggestions would be great! Thanks :)

  11. Hi! I am trying to book my shows for the Oasis of the Seas (July 18-25) and want to make sure I don't book any shows during the Love and Marriage show or the Quest show, as I want to be available to see them! Does anyone remember or know when those shows are usually done? Right now I have the comedy show booked for the second night at 10:30 and the Oasis Dream for third night at 9:30.

    Thanks so much!

PS is the comedy show pretty much the same each night or is one show better then the other?

  12. I am taking a 7 night western cruise on the Oasis of the Seas this summer and we have a big group. Since we don't want to pay for WIFI and/or phone service we were thinking of using walkie talkies. Has anyone every used them before? If so do they work well? Any specific brands you recommend? Thanks!
