  1. Glad you were able to get in touch with them. That is sad to hear about the free drinks going away :(.

Since I'm a newbie to Royal Caribbean, your mention of the Ben & Jerry Suite prompted an immediate google search for pictures. That looks awesome!!

  2. Interesting. Our reward from myVegas instructed us to email clubroyale@rccl.com with specific contact info for the purchaser and guest. After sending that, we received 2 emails from Club Royale within the same day. The first was just a confirmation that they received it and we will here from them with more details soon. The 2nd email instructed us to call 1 888-561-2234 to book through them directly. We ended up calling them 3 times before officially booking and spoke to 3 different representatives. The repeat calls were an issue on our end - we had several questions and wanted to be sure before making a down payment. Each representative quoted us the same price.

I know in the past I have had issues with getting emails from myVegas - some weird thing with my yahoo spam folder, not sure if this could be the problem here as well. Strangely enough, my husband has never had an issue getting emails from them through his yahoo account.

I'll be curious to here about your outcome. I feel that there is a lack of consistency with redeeming myVegas rewards, wish they could sort that out!

  3. You cannot use it with promotions but you can use it with restricted rates if you quality and they are on your sailing (ie military, resident, senior rates, etc). You would have to buy the reward and email the address provided to determine what the price would be.

I stumbled on this thread before booking our cruise/myVegas offer last week and appreciate all the info on here! l thought it might be helpful to share our experience with redeeming a myVegas offer through Royal Caribbean. My husband purchased the $250 OBC offer and after receiving email confirmation we were giving a number to call in to book. We were able to book our cruise at the current promotional rate of 60% off the 2nd guest price (same as listed on their website) and still received the myVegas OBC. This is my first time dealing with RCCL (have used other myVegas offers, though) and thought the customer service was great. Not sure if this was a fluke or something that varies by which agent you deal with, but figured it wouldn't hurt to give it a try :).

    Happy cruising all!

  4. Thanks all!

Very good point about many cruisers celebrating special occasions - that is okay though, I will take advantage of the delicious desserts and treats already available :D.

I definitely think we will avoid rumrunners and purchase a drink package instead.

Haha, Calliopecruiser you are 100% - they are definitely the opposite of legit. My husband is still laughing at your response - touche' :p

  5. Hi all - first time posting on these boards! My husband and I are planning a Southern Caribbean cruise for our anniversary in October 2015. While we have been on one cruise (Carnival Destiny October 2010), it was for our honeymoon and I did not have the time to research and plan as I do now and have some questions ;)

    1. We are between Carnival, Royal Caribbean and Celebrity. We both enjoyed Carnival but have heard wonders about the other two lines. From your experience/opinion which is best for someone in their late 20s/early 30s? We aren't "party animals," but like relaxing by the pool, having some fun beverages and will visit the casino. Looking at online deals, a cruise fare and drink package on Celebrity could be cheaper than other options.

    2. Rumrunners - I have read about these on the boards but wondered how often they get confiscated and how many you could realistically bring in your luggage? We are planning on getting a beverage package, but wanted to see if this was a legit option instead.

    3. Since we are going for our anniversary, do cruise lines offer any "special occasions" perks? On our last cruise, a couple at our dinner table got a cake for their anniversary - but maybe this was ordered from the fun shops by family beforehand.

That is all for now. Thanks in advance for your help!
