Don't worry about it.....you're a Mega Rockstar now!

Ignore your original check-in time, and cruise on in to the VIP entrance at 1pm

    Enjoy your cruise!

even if there’s no communication from Virgin and the app says “unable to upgrade” now?

  2. Bid on a few MRS level upgrades a few weeks ago. On Wednesday my card was charged for my most expensive bid, yet I’ve gotten no communication from Virgin, the app still shows my original cabin and the upgrade site shows “unable to upgrade” for this bid, even though the charge went through. Is this typical? Maybe the system hasn’t updated?

  3. Just wondering what everyone's experience with the MRS Agent has been, particularly if you have any comparison to the Genies aboard RCI ships? I've sailed with Genies a number of times but this will be my first sailing with a MRS Agent. I've done little pre-planning, so I'm hoping they have as much pull as the Genies do.

Any other advice? Things to ask for?

  4. I've asked this on another board, but I am also asking here. For those of you who have sailed the Allure of the Seas before, what are the must experience dishes and restaurants?

I realize this is a personal opinion and varies from person to person, but if you were to sail on the Allure, which food experiences are a must do.

    Thank you.

If you're with anything larger than a couple. I'd definitely do Izumi hibachi. It's very similar to what you find at Benihana and it's a very fun dining experience.

150 Central Park is also excellent.

Giovannis's is pretty good. The lasagna, which is available but not listed on the menu for dinner, is stellar.

Chops is always the most mediocre to me. Nothing stands out. The steak at Samba is better.

  5. It's not good. However, as others have said, at 2am it's fine. The trick, I think, is to get it hot. It's edible then. However, unlike some pizzas which are still edible after a few minutes of sitting out, Sorrento's pizza congeals into something I wouldn't feed to my worst enemy.

  6. Has anyone stayed in this room, and where can I find pics and reviews thanks.

Great suite, the balcony is MASSIVE. I also like that you have a corner view, so the sports deck on one side with the ocean on the other. Suite quite a bit bigger than the standard CLS which I find to be oddly claustrophobic (narrow walls).

One thing is that if you're sharing with someone downstairs (common in this room), there is no real curtain between the bedroom and living room below - only a sheer. This is the same as the CLS, but I think more people share this room as a family, so it can be a little... revealing. RLS (1740) mercifully has a regular curtain.

  7. Let me clarify. Not concerned about the itinerary, just curious what boat in either the oasis or quantum class you prefer or loved, if any.

If given the choice between all Oasis and Quantum class ships, Allure is my favorite. I find it to be the most well run, the staff to be the most inviting and the overall experience to be standout.

  8. Thank you. The restaurants and the OTW cabana are our two big wishes.

I would reply about the cabana the moment you get the email from the Genie. In six instances with that, only once did they not have the OTW available by the time I replied back. The issue is the concierges offer it to their guests about the same time and they don't coordinate, so they can fill up pretty quickly. In practice they should offer to Star Class first, then to regular concierge guests.

  9. Does the genie always come through with reservations. Seems like the specialty restaurants will be booked before he/she is expected to contact us,

The genie makes everything work, especially if you pre-book a week or two out. Had eight Genie cruises and never once been told they can not accommodate, even with a party of eight or ten and changing mid-voyage.

  10. Going on freedom in March 2019 and am also going on a cruise either December 2020 or early 2021. I know that’s so far away but a few questions!

    1) we’ve done freedom of the seas twice now and would like to go on one of the quantum class boats next. If you had to choose one boat in the quantum class that you would recommend/is your favorite taking out cost and itinerary, what would it be? And most importantly, why?

    2) If you’ve done a holiday cruise, what were your thoughts? Worth it? Or no? and why?

    Thanks for your help!!!!

Of all the classes I've done, Quantum was my least favorite. It's a winter ship so it all felt very closed in and somewhat claustrophobic.

  11. As someone else said, the policy with an allergy is to cook the food in the back to avoid cross-contamination. I've been with one friend who has a legitimate gluten allergy and they always cook it away from everything else.

No hot rocks on Oasis-class ships.

  12. Does anyone have the newer menu for Sabor, since it's no longer a la carte, and is now a single cover charge? Just curious what all one can get for the $22 (?) fee. I also thought I read on here that they no longer do the tableside guacamole. Is that also correct? Thanks

The guac is not made table side, but is made to order. We always ask for it extra spicy with no tomatoes - they are happy to accommodate.

They ran into some issue with the Florida health department which necessitated bringing it in the kitchen.
