  1. There is nothing in then that says Divina, or the date, no terms and conditions. I'll ask MSC to confirm but I dont see how they would know.

Didn't enjoy the cruise for a number of reasons.... First time cruising for me, 2nd for other half, had put me off for life and I used to work on a ship! Wouldn't recommend MSC to anyone.

  2. Hi

We have just returned from a 7 night cruise on the Divina.....that's another story, but it's safe to say we won't be needing them for a future MSC cruise :(

So, rather than throw them away I thought I would ask if anyone would be interested in buying them from me? There are 3 brand new, un-used Soda Package books, and I also have 1 Doremi voucher left which I will throw in. These cost me £18 each, and am willing to sell them for £12 each book, free postage. Each book has 15 vouchers valid for a soda or fruit juice. We just bought too many and didn't use them. I asked MSC if they would buy them back but they said no.

I would prefer to post just to UK and if you are interested let me know and I can give you my paypal address for payment. It seems silly to waste them and I know that there might be people out there who could use them.

I will try and post a photo of them below this post.

    Thanks alot,

  3. I nearly always buy a spa package in advance. Not checked this year's pricing but they have always worked out as a great saving over buying them individually onboard. I usually go for the Platinum Rose or Diamond Orchid.

As soon as I get onboard I just head up to the spa reception and hand over my voucher and book my appointments for when I want them throughout the cruise. They are all booked separately for different days and times. You can switch an appointment later if you want. I just find booking early gives me a better chance of getting the days and times that I want.

Sorry.....another question from me! Is the spa open into the evening? What sort of times does it open? Many thanks

Thanks for the info. I assumed you must be able to split them up but the response I got from MSC was vague and not very helpful. Sadly, that is how I have found the service to be in general so far. I hope it is better on board. I've read mixed reviews. It's a bit worrying :(

  5. Hi all

We are considering booking a spa package on our upcoming cruise, but they aren't cheap and although I have directed some questions to MSC, they answers they provide aren't exactly certainties, and they seem to tell you to check with reception on-board alot. For me, that's not really acceptable. If I'm going to pre-book and part with the best part of £300, I would like to know what I am getting. So.....althoug this may seem like a silly question, I assume that if you book a package, you don't have to have all the treatments at one time? You can spread them out over a different days? MSC couldn't really answer me, so I'm hoping someone who has been might know. Thank you in advance :)

  6. If I'm not mistaken if you purchase a spa treatment you will be allowed to use the thermal suites also and that could be for the duration of your cruise. I honestly can't remember.

True you cannot compare prices to your local spa in most cases, definitely an up charge on a cruise. Also remember there will be a 15% additional gratuity added on the ship also. The specials once on board were not bad at all so check the dailies or go directly to the spa to see the specials.

I hadn't thought about the 15% extra.....hmmm, that's a very good point. Advance may be the way :)

  7. I pre-booked a couple of packages prior because it was almost a 50% discount. I personally thought the prices were great compared to other ship spas and those are the bigger combined packages for pre-book. I also wanted to do individual treatments. Once on board they had specials everyday and also an individual menu. So they do have the standard treatments and some good deals once aboard. Not sure what will actually be on special but I'm sure you will be able to find something you will enjoy. I loved the spa and thought it ranked with Celebrity and NCL and as far as prices a better deal then those cruise lines. IMHO.

Hi, thank you for your post. I haven't cruised before and I accept there will be an element of being a captive audience which will up the prices, but in comparison to what I can pay fairly locally for treatments, it is very expensive. I am looking forward to treating myself and pampering but within sensible limits. It's good to hear they do have individual treatments available. Do you know if you have treatments from the 'menu' on-board, that it will still permit you to use the spa facilities throughout, like it does with the pre-book packages? Many thanks

  8. Hi

I am considering booking some of the spa treatments or a package whilst on-board. I have gone through the extensive packages available and wonder if :you can book treatments individually rather than in a package? How much this sort of thing might be....I'm thinking a massage for 60minutes? And whether the packages and treatments are worth it? What are the opinions of those who have done them? The prices they are charging are astronomical in the packages so before treating myself....I have to ask...what are the reviews?

    Thanks

  9. B2 will be a Fantastica cabin (B1 Bella, B2 Fantastica, B3 Aurea) which means you can have continental breakfast free of charge in your cabin and you will not pay a delivery charge for any other room service.

That sounds lovely. Thank you for clearing that up. I didn't even know such a thing existed. Will they mention this when we embark so we know what we will get?

  10. Ahhh, ok, thank you. I'll have a look;)

I've just had a look. I can't see anything on the information I have. The cabin is a B2....does that mean anything? We booked with Virgin on a cruise and stay and I can't see anything that says anything like the classes that the link leads too.Puzzling:confused:

  11. You can only get continental breakfast - no other meals are available to the cabin unless someone is ill.

You can get pizza (can't remember the price) and snacks such as soup and sandwiches from room service for a charge. Last time I looked, it was €3 a plate or 2 for €5. If you're in a Bella cabin, there will also be a charge for service. Here's a list from an earlier cruise, it may have changed slightly since:

    Soup of the day

    Italian antipasto platter

    Mozzarella caprese

    Mediterranean salad

    Chicken caesar salad

    Sandwiches:

    Smoked salmon

    Tuna salad

    Speck ham

    Ham and Cheese

    Egg salad

    Grilled vegetable

    Cheese plate

    Fresh fruit plate

    Sweet temptations

Fresh fruit basket (5 pieces) €4.90

Many thanks for that info. What's a Bella cabin?

  12. Hi,

I have read that you can have a breakfast served in your room....are other mealtimes available too? So for example, if we return to our cabin, a bit burnt and worn out, can we have something to eat in our cabin rather than having to get ready and go to one of the restaurants? We are travelling at the end of the year on a Caribbean cruise.

    Thanks in advance.

  13. Hi, I'm reading on MSC's website that there is a hair dryer in the cabin. Where is it? I've looked at the virtual tours etc etc and I can't see it in the main room or the bathroom. Have they hidden it?

  14. Hi, can someone confirm for me what plus sockets are in the cabins of the Divina please? Is it right that there are 2 x euro 2 pin sockets, and 2 x USA sockets? Just want to confirm before I buy some adaptors.

    Thanks guys :)

  15. Uggghhhh,,,my bad Pete!!!! I always assume the OP is referring to the Divina when I read some of these posts and never take into account the other ships in the fleet.

Thanks all. It will be the Divina we are travelling on. SOunds like a useful function to be able to use :)

  16. From what I understand, on every 7 night there are two formal (Gala) nights, a white night and Italian night (colors of the Italian flag).

Hi...we sail later in the year, but we are doing the opposite itinery. Are the themes the same for either east or western cruises? Also, with the red white and green night, is that an outfit including all those colours? Or pick just one? Confused

    thanks x
