they have deeper balconies although they do not cost any more than the other cabins in their category.  They are on the front both sides on deck 6. They are back to 6030 on starboard side and back to 6035 on port side on Constellation, Millenium, Summit and Infinity.  They are double depth. This pic is 6028 on Summit.

Thanks.  That is what I was thinking.

  2. Check out the La Quinta LAX.  We have stayed there so many times on military moves.  Oftentimes, we chose this hotel because we were moving overseas with our dogs and cat, crazy I know (Japan, Italy, South Korea), and they were so amazingly accommodating to us that we have gone back on non-military moves, as we are Cali natives, and travel often through LAX.  It's solid, no-nonsense, super clean hotel, and you can't beat the value.

  3.   Hi!  My husband and I just decided that we might switch our next Caribbean cruise for an Alaskan cruise.  Leaving from Seattle on Solstice.  I would like to know if anyone prefers a certain side of the ship over another, or if we should go aft?  We like aft balconies, but I'm really about the best views on this trip, of course.  What would you do?

I am sure this question has been asked before, but the "new to me" format of Cruise Critic is hindering my search.  Old dog, new tricks, and all that.  :)  Don't know when it changed, but I don't like it so far.

  4. Regular tonic water from the fountain gun. Diet tonic water (that I & my waistline prefer) is either Canada Dry or Seagrams normally in a small bottle (have never seen a can)

So they carry diet tonic? That’s what I drink at home. It’s pretty rare that I see diet tonic in a bar!

  5. Interesting conversation. Thanks! I didn’t know if it would be odd to request to sit with others at anytime ( or select ) dining. Sometimes we’re in the mood for it, other times not, but I like having the option. Our previous cruises we have always had a table for our family or with our friends. First cruise with just DH and I and we’re talkers. :)

  6. Do the 7 day cruises usually have a slot tournament? I've always wanted to do one. Not interested in your thoughts of whether I should play slots or not. You can save that for another thread. Just looking for those that have seen one happen or have experienced one. Do they occur and how do they work? Thanks!

  7. Sailing on Equinox 2 June. We wanted the three night specialty dining package to try Murano (one or two nights) and Silk Harvest. All the packages that are left are 6 night and 7 night. We don't want that. Should I book the restaurants now, individually, or hope for a deal that works with the nights we want when we board? We aren't stuck on eating at a certain time. I don't like eating at 10 pm, but we are fairly flexible. If we want a 7 pm dinner, which will most likely book up quickly, and show up an hour early or so, do they do a "walk in" type situation? I don't want to miss out on these restaurants to save a few bucks, but don't want to pay gobs more than I need to.

  8. That’s great! Right in the middle is a good time. Have you been following the forecasts? Cherry blossoms are big business in Japan! It’s crazy! :)

Good idea to not drive yourself, especially that day. If you do decide to take the train, try to purchase your tickets in advance. The train will be super crowded but clean. Taxi will be nice though.

I’m so jealous! Someday I hope to go again. :)
