  1. I'm sure this has already been covered... but I'm compelled to inquire.

If one books a shore excursion for Cococay, and the ship never stops there - for whatever reason - is the money then transferred back to your seapass account? My assumption is yes. And, if that's correct, will it happen during the duration of the trip?

I've seen more and more posts about ships not stopping in Cococay due to high winds and whatnot. So I'm wondering if it's even worth booking the excursion (kayaking and snorkeling) in the first place.

    Thanks, in advance!!

  2. Credit Value is the number of points you have earned on any cruise. You receive 1 cruise point for each night and then those points are doubled if you are booked in a JS cabin or above.

Hmmm, my account is incredibly weird.

It shows that I have 12 points.

But, it shows "credit value" as 1 for a 7 night cruise, and a "credit value" of 4 for a 4 night cruise.

Even more interesting... I've only ever cruised once and that was the 7 night cruise. This cruise that we are taking in November will be our 2nd.

  3. My husband and I are cruising from Ft.L in November. We plan to use the airport shuttle to get us to our hotel, but on the reverse side of the cruise, we want to head up the coast to Kennedy.

I assume there will be taxis at the pier just waiting to take people to the airport, hotels, and what not after returning to FtL. Are there any car rental facilities nearby? (I apologize if this has already been covered.)

  4. Are the frozen fruity drinks boozey? If so, you're looking more to an alcohol containing package. If they are virgin, then you might be looking at something like Replenish and then just buying a glass of wine with dinner.

I'm not sure why it's so confusing. I personally don't find it that confusing, but then I've been looking at the packages since about November 2013 when they changed in time for our January 2014 Freedom cruise.

This is really the first time I've looked into it *at all.* Now that I've found links with additional info, I'm figuring it out. Plus, I did look at the menus, that helps.

I have a tendency to make things a lot more difficult than they really are. =)

  5. Sorry if I missed something.

It's all good. It was just incredibly confusing. I just went back and looked (without being logged in) and now the price is totally reflecting what we booked at, as the price of the cruise. I seriously must have been booking during a time when prices were changing. It was late at night, who knows.

I'm really excited though. I never figured my husband would agree to a Caribbean cruise. Not that I would not love to go back to Alaska, but I'd love to go someplace warm and sunny.

  6. Does anyone have any experience with any of the excursions to Labadee? My husband and I were reading the very few and far between reviews on RC's website, and we are less than impressed.

Then again, people seem to review more when they dislike something as opposed to when they did.

We've only sailed once before and we made up our own excursions. I'm not sure about attempting that in an area that I'm incredibly unfamiliar with. Canada/Alaska was no big deal.

    Thank you, in advance!

  7. Maybe you waited to long for the next sale. You aren't paying more with the sale, you are paying more because you hesitated

I booked it *at* the time of the quote. So, I'm not sure how that's possible. There was no hesitation.

The math didn't add up at the time of booking, but because another cruise we'd planned to go on (at the same time) suddenly was unavailable to us, we went ahead with this one. I literally booked at the same time, the first time, I looked at it. So, the time lapse between the $339pp and my actual booking was about 10 minutes.

Regardless, I'm happy that we are finally going to be able to go on another cruise. =)

  8. When I did the math for our cruise - we are actually paying MORE with the BOGOHO "sale" than we would be without it.

Our original choice was listed at $339pp. That's $678 before taxes.

Once I actually started the booking process, it showed guest 1 at $569.00 and guest 2 *saving $284.00 = for a total of $853 before tax. So, I'm being charged $175.00 MORE for the BOGOHO deal.

    Nice math, RC. Nice math.

  9. This is only our 2nd cruise - and the first was several years ago so things have changed quite a bit. I'm curious about the beverage packages.

When we cruised before, we were able to get coffee, tea (hot and iced), pretty much anywhere. When looking through the beverage packages options, I'm assuming that these things are still available if one were to NOT chose a package. Is that correct?

Also, I enjoy wine and cocktails while my husband isn't a drinker at all. If we were to purchase, would we be required to purchase for both of us??

I've looked on RCs website and perused here a bit and haven't really found the answers.

    Thank you for your help!!!

  10. I don't have a lot to add, but I do have Celiac and we've chosen RC because I was well taken care of on our first cruise. (I honestly didn't think we'd ever be able to cruise because of this issue.)

I understand it's actually become even easier since we cruised in 2009. I remember having them toast the bread, it made things much easier.
