  1. Hi

On our last Princess Cruise (TA from Ft Lauderdale to Southampton), I took advantage of their Future Cruise Deposit, paying £75 each.

    The offer is

    17 - 44 Days $125 Inside, $125 Outside, $150 Balcony, $150 Suite

I assumed that this would be in US$. We have now booked a cruise from Sydney to Singapore and have been given $150 each, but in AUS$. By current exchange rates I would have thought that US$150 should be over AUS$200.

Has anyone else encountered this before? What did you do?

    Regards

    Robert

  2. We are going on the Summit in May. I recently called X to ask if there were dvd players in the cabins. I was told No, but that if I brought my own dvd player, the maintenance/IT guys will help us "install" it and make it work. Not sure of the person on the phone knew what they were talking about, we are bringing the portable dvd player anyway. We like to watch a movie most nights when we return to the cabin for the night. But if it doesn't work out with the dvd player, I'm sure there's plenty else to do on the ship. Cheers!

When I asked the cabin steward he said it wasn't possible. Also asked the technician in the iLounge and he said it wasn't possible.

  3. Correct it is that simple. The only problem not all ships use HDMI some use DVI. From memory Silhouette is HDMI while Equinox is DVI. But, your are correct just unplug the HDMI that the TV is using and plug in your own HDMI cable. The remote of the TV will also work for volume.

Our cabin on Eclipse last year was using the VGA port to link to the Apple TV box. All other ports were disabled. I've now bought an HDMI to VGA adaptor for net time.

  4. My experience on Eclipse last year was that I couldn't get anything to work from any HDMI port or USB port - the only one that appeared to work was the VGA cable coming from the Apple TV box. I have bought a female HDMI to male VGA cable for our next trip.

  5. Celebrity had a shuttle that took us to the Kowloon Airport Express train station. There you can check your luggage 24 hrs ahead of time (our flight was not until after midnight). After spending some time in a museum, we took the train to our hotel, just across from the airport, where we stayed on a day rate until our flight departed.

The shuttle was a very modest charge and the train to the airport was very cheap.

We did this with Royal Caribbean Voyager of the Seas earlier this year. Cost about US$20 each for the transfer in a small mini-bus. I'd also recommend the Kowloon Airport Express check-in. We checked in and dropped off our bags. There was a left luggage office there where we could leave out hand luggage and then we had the day to tour HK under our own steam (we went down to STanly Market).
