We stayed in #12530 back in 2019, so next door to the rooms you asked about. No issues with smoke - the smoking area is upstairs on the left hand side of the bar. If there is bad weather then you can smoke down on deck 12, left side, but #12032 is at least 15 yards inside the doors to the sundeck. No issues with noise either - the library is right outside these rooms, but the doors are very heavy, and we never noticed noise from the sundeck above. The room is huge, we loved it. 

Welcome back Suzanne, It looks like you had a fabulous time on your first jazz cruise!! I am looking forward to seeing Keiko and Kirk on the Koz cruise. I had booked the 19.2 smooth jazz cruise but I cancelled it and book the Koz cruise to Australia. Boney James is joining Rick Braun for New Years Eve in Tucson. I won't be able to go because I will be going to Australia for three weeks. Too many events not enough money...lol

Hey Hattack, I am glad you are well. I miss your posting about your jazz cruises and festivals.

There's no news for 2019. He will probably make an announcement mid September.

LOL @ Wendy, sorry that is my dear friend, I must have been thinking about her while I was posting.:eek: I am cruising with Koz in 2018. I am hoping to booked the smooth jazz cruise for 2019. There's a facebook group for the smooth jazz cruisers.So many are probably on FB.

Wendy, I made a pre-sale deposit. I am hoping to sail on the 19.2 cruise. Looking forward to Brian, Boney, Najee and the others.

I'm back from my first Koz cruise and it was a total blast. Great ports of call, amazing music and fun music loving cruisers made this a trip of a lifetime. I am looking forward to 2018!! I am totally exhausted what a crazy fun vacation. Some of my favorite performances were Rick Braun & Richard Elliot, Gerald Albright & Jonathan Butler, the tribute to Michael Jackson & Al Jarreau and Mindy Abair. There were other awesome performances but I am too tired and jet lagged to recall them at this times. It's going to be hard to go back to a normal cruise after this amazing cruise. Well done Dave Koz!! It's time to unpack, wash the laundry, and get some rest.

2nd week for both 2017/2018.. but hoping to clear an interior or ocean view for the 1st week in 2017.....staying with some New Orleans friends who actually own a summer home in Venice...will finalize the rest of the trip before the end of the month since we now have new non stop service out of New Orleans on both British Airways and Condor Air with connections to Venice/Milan..once that is finalized we can connect for excursions..my regular Jazz Cruise travelling buddy can't go in 2017 (too much time away from work) so I may wind up taking my big brother (a Jazz drummer) or my neighbor (who looked out for me when I had my bypass operation) who has never been on a Cruise (less alone a Jazz Cruise) never been outside the Country and the only performing artist that she knows is Al Jarreau (so we have agreed our first "real date" is to go to the Sea Breeze Smooth Jazz Festival in Panama City FL in April)...plus she has never heard of Santorini :eek:

We are flying American Airlines. We have a short layover in Philadelphia and on to Venice.

If your neighbor joins you, It will probably be a trip of a lifetime for her....amazing ports and great music... This is my sister's first trip to Europe as well and she is counting the days until we arrive in Venice.

I am glad I chose Koz as my first jazz cruise because I was also considering Capital Jazz Supercruise and was shocked at how poorly it was organized this year. I was on a flight from Puerto Rico a couple a years ago and was sitting next to a couple who were returning from the supercruise and they were talking about the fabulous time they had and about the various artists and events of the week. So, I was shocked that the cruise this year was a bit chaotic and unorganized.

I lived in the south sound(Olympia) for many years. I still have family in the area and I visit a few times a year.

Hey Hattack, I am booked on the Koz 2017 second week cruise and Koz first week cruise for 2018. Are you on the 2017 second week cruise? I would love to get to together for a drink. We are wrapping up our plans. We are staying at the Hotel Olimpia near piazza roma. I stayed in this area the last time I was in Venice and it worked well for us. I've booked a six hour tour in Kotor, http://toursbymilo.com/en/ and a tour in Santorini, http://santorini-private-guide.com/ and trying to decide what I want to do in Dubrovonik and Ravenna. I've been to Dubrovnik before, so I will probably walk around the old time and walk the wall. I am getting really excited about my first jazz cruise!!! I went to Peter White Christmas show featuring Rick Braun and Euge Groove It was sooooo much fun, Rick Braun has a really nice sing voice and he was loads of fun. I also went to Brian Culbertson funk show.:D BC knows how to party, I was ready to booked the smooth jazz cruise just so I could have the opportunity to see Brian again. lol I might consider going to his Napa Getaway but I need to save money for 2018.... I am hoping to go to Rick Braun's New Year Eves party in Tucson this year...Dave Koz is his special guest. I have friends in Tucson, so definitely looking forward to this event. Too many events and not enough money......:eek:

Hattack ~ I have some fond memories of cleaning the house on Saturday mornings and listening to music. A couple of years ago, my brother, mother and I were on a road trip we were listening to Bobby Blue Bland, Minnie Ripperton, and Etta James. lol I haven't listened to Bobby Bland or Minnie Ripperton since I was a child..... but gosh it sure brought back some awesome childhood memories of our cleaning, singing and just being silly kids.

Hattack, thanks for the information. I was a wee bit confused:o I thought capital jazz supercruise for 2017 was sold out and registration isn't until next summer... lol It's awesome that Dave Koz allows their prior guest to register prior to opening to the general public.

Chyna are you on the wait list for 2016 or 2017?

Wow, Dave Koz 2017 cruise is sold out as well.:eek: I was hoping to gift my sister a jazz cruise for her 50 birthday. I thought I had plenty of time she turns 50 in 2017.... I am too darn late:o I have wait listed for Dave Koz. I didn't receive any information for the 2017 capital jazz cruise. I will check with them and see if I can get on a wait list.
