It is  late to be booking for this June or July.  Many plan trips that involve international flight a year out.  It is quite possible that all  triple and quad cabins have already been booked.

I was able to find five cabins March 5, 2024. Four Doubles and one Triple for the July 2. 2024 sailing.

  2. I want to take six of my grandchildren on the June 20, 2024 sailing out of Yokohama.

Celebrity has limited capacity on this cruise. Only available cabins are double capacity. The two following cruises in July 2024 also is limited to double occupancy.

We are sailing from Sydney to Honolulu in April 2024 aboard the Edge. The cabins available on the Edge has triples and quads.

Is there any information why the Millenium has restricted the triple and quad cabins?

Princess itinerary around Japan is different and the cruises are a couple of days shorter. Princess is offering third and four persons free.

Different types of upgrades.  The Upgrade Advantage with the bid meter is a one time bid.  You can change or delete your bid at any point until they accept or deny your bid.  You don't know where you stand along the way.  In the last week or so before the cruise, if they don't have the bids they want for a cabin, they might open up live bidding at which point you can find out if you lead or not.  I don't think this happens with every sailing though.

The bid meter goes from poor to excellent. All my bids for the suites were excellent. I received notices on all the suite bids that I have been out bidded. I think there were 14 other bidders a reference on the top of the page. I increased my bids on each suite and received the same message that I have been out bidded on each offer.

July 2023 we sailed on the Diamond Princess Yokohama to Yokohama 10 days. I bidded for all the suites at the excellent bid. I received an email from Princess offering one of the suites for an additional $1,250 per person. I accepted the offer.

Makes sense if there's a lot more bidders than cabins.

I'm beginning to see a pattern here.   🤨

I am sailing on the NCL Sky. I received an offer to bid for an upgrade. I selected the maximum amount for each Suite. The Balcony I placed a low bid. I received notices for each Suite bid that I have been out bidded. I increased my bids on each Suite to a higher amount. I received notices that I have been out bibbed on each of my bids. I stopped bidding after my last higher offers.

If you drink no soda and only drink alcohol lightly, the UBP isn't for you, but I would submit that you're very much in the minority on the ship. My comment was for the vast majority of people who do drink sodas and/or cocktails/wine/beer. Having said that, I wish NCL would include bottled water and specialty coffee like some other lines do. But I despise that over-roasted Star$ and we just fill our own water bottles anywhere on the ship, so these are minor concerns for us.

My last cruise on Princess I enter a bid to upgrade to a Suite. The bid was accepted and I was assigned a Suite. The refrigerator was stock with soda, beer and water. On top of the refrigerator there were about a dozen miniature bottle of liquor. There is no restocking once all the beverages were gone. I purchased two cases of water before the cruise. I received the first package on the first day of a cruise. I received a second package mid-cruise. I also received to bottle of water each day of the cruise. I didn't buy any mixed drink or buy any coffee drinks.

Contact Katty Byrd (kbyrd...ncl.com). Unfortunately, seems like they have bots sorting the email, so you might not get past the gatekeepers but it's worth a try.

I was once able to change my gateway 1 day after the booking deadline at that time, using a similar argument, although in my case the option to choose a deviation was still open. Probably doesn't hurt to acknowledge that you know it's against policy but you would be forever grateful if they could pleeeeze help you out!!

Thank you for your help. Deviation granted cost $30.00 per person

Hi everyone, trying to get some info from anyone who has recently utilized the Free at Sea program where you buy airfare for the first guest and the second guest flies free.  I foolishly assumed that I would have SOME choice, which has been the case when booking w/other cruise lines, but apparently not the case w/NCL.  I have one person in my party who doesn't like to fly, needs a fair amount of medication to get on a plane, and absolutely refuses to fly airlines like Frontier, Spirit and Allegiant.

I'm still 4 months away from the cruise, and the prospect of waiting another 30-60 days before NCL assigns us our flights is not a great prospect, since I may need to buy my own flights now anyway.  Or potentially drive to the pier, which is an 8-10 hour drive, but possibly a better option.

Please complete the poll, and if you have any hacks or tricks to share, I'm all ears!  My TA is aware, but doesn't have much info to provide.  Thank you.

I think...you're out of luck. If my math is right, you're well past the 75 day mark. Here's the relevant portion from NCL's Air Service Standards:

You could try calling to speak with another agent or request to be transferred to the air department (be prepared for them to say no). If they do add the deviation, I bet they'll smack a change fee on your reservation since you're beyond 75 days. If the tickets truly haven't been issued, then maybe, possibly, but highly unlikely, NCL will help you. I so strongly don't think it's possible, but I won't say never.

If you want to escalate, good luck. Here's a webpage with emails for NCL's peoples! https://www.elliott.org/company-contacts/norwegian-cruise-line-ncl/

The other thing to consider is a deviation. You may want to contact NCL, your travel agent, or PCC to request a one or two day pre-cruise deviation. This will get you into the city a day or two ahead of the cruise. And, relieve anxiety, especially in the winter (you know how it is!) if a storm is coming through.

You would need to get yourself from the airport to your hotel and from hotel to port (unless booking with NCL's hotel - I don't encourage this as you'll pay more).

You have up until 75 days prior to sail date to add a deviation. Think about it. Since you're within driving distance if flights get messed up, it's not totally necessary, but I would do it.

I am sailing on the Norwegian Sky, 02-OCT-2023. I received this email from NCL "

    Dear Valued Guest,

On behalf of Norwegian Cruise Line, thank you for your loyalty and for making us your vacation of choice. You are receiving this communication, as you have reserved your flights for your upcoming voyage through Norwegian Cruise Line's air program.

At this time, we are experiencing a large volume of airline schedule changes and modifications and as such we will be issuing your flight confirmation approximately 30 days prior to the embarkation date. The electronic confirmation will be sent to the email on file. If you already received your flight itinerary details, you may disregard this communication.

For any additional information regarding your flight schedule, please contact our Premium Air Department at 1-866-625-1163 (USA/Canada) or 305-436-0866 (Miami-Dade County only), from Monday to Friday between 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. EST, and Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30p.m EST.

We thank you for your continued loyalty and support. We look forward to welcoming you aboard soon and providing you with an exceptional vacation experience.

    Sincerely,
    Norwegian Air Department"

I asked NCL if can delay my departure from Baltimore for two days to visit my grandson who is do an internship with one of the Federal Government Agencies. I was told no changes within 70 days. I said the carrier has not been selected by NCL and no airlines tickets have been issued. What can I do to make the change. The airline ticket  buys one and get one free. The Resolution Supervisor said I can cancel my flights.

Any recommendations who to contact at the Executive Office?

I believe he is currently on the ship and very disappointed.  Since I have traveled in a Celebrity suite(plus other cabin classes) and also on HAL(various cabin classes Neptune and down) I understand his disappointment.  It is a live and learn situation.

We took the train from Los Angeles to San Diego on December 22, 2022. We arrived in San Diego about 1:30 P.M. We could see the ship from the train station.  A few blocks away probably a 1/2 mile walk. We had to order two Lyft vehicles to get to the port. Yes we are all aboard the current cruise of the HAL Koningsdam. The next time I plan a Cruise I will review the Cabins and Suites on Cruise Critics.  I remember a long time ago we took a cruise on the SS Norway befdore I started counting cruises. I can't remember the name of the original ship before the name was changed to the SS Norways. I know the total amount of cabin on the ships were increased and the sizes of the cabins were decreased.

I think the term "suite" is deceptive with this category B cabin class.  Even with the Neptune Suite the perks do not remotely resemble Celebrity Suite perks.

Very deceptive. That why most of my cruises have been on Celebrity. There were a limited amount of cruises out of Southern California during the Christmas Holiday. Carnival, NCL HAL and RCL. Celebrity was no place to be found. I think Princess left a few days earlier.

Not sure why you posted this. Do you have questions about suite catergories? HAL applies the term "suite" liberally. Only Neptune Suites and Pinnacle Suites have "suite privileges" like access to the Neptune Lounge or a special restaurant (Club Orange on K'dam).

Vista and Signature "Suites" get that name because they're larger than standard verandah cabins. They do get double mariner points, but I don't think there are any other special privileges. I believe Category B is Vista Suite.

Yes that was what I was sold a Vista Suite and Double Points.

  13. Booked December 22, 2022 ailing on the Koningsdam Suite Class Caterogy B 7 day Cruise. Two Double Beds and one couch that converts in a Double Bed.

There are no Suite Privileges or Special Dining Room. The Suite is on the upper deck. On Celebrity all Suite Classes had special dinging rooms and a Private Club.We have two Suites on the Koningsdam and a Veranda on the lower deck that sleeps three and the Cabin has a balcony, slightly smaller and sleeps three. All Cabins are assignrd to the same Dinining Room.

  14. Just completed a 14 day Asian cruise on the Millennium. I had access to two Internet accounts. The Internet was down for a full day. My notebook connected to the Wi Fi most of the time. I had problems connecting to the network with my iPhone. The Internet was very slow sometimes I had to use the iPhone and notebook to research information. There was a sign in the Internet Lounge offering 50% off on the second device.

  15. We are in New York now we arrived three days ago on a cruise ship. We decided to take Lyft to the hotel. There were four of us in our party with six large suitcases and carryon bags. Supershuttle and Dial7 were high cost so we selected Lyft. The Lyft arrived the driver said too much luggage. He suggested we use another class of service about ten dollars more. The second driver arrived with the same type of vehicle. He took his time loaded the vehicle a tight squeeze. We had to pay for premium service but we were happy with the service. We had the same problem in Montreal with Uber two vehicles arrived that were unable to carry us to the ship. We ended up taking a taxi minivan. The fare was reasonable.

I have used Dial7 a couple of times before and will be taking them to the airport tomorrow.

  16. Take a look Dial7 Car and Limousine Service. I find them a little better Supershuttle or Taxicabs. The rates are reasonable and available on short notice. They serve all local airports and the cruise terminal.
