I just called customer service and had 6 specialty restaurant reservations in under 10 minutes.
-
Because of what I had read on this message board, I just called directly instead of attempting online. No problems and Cagney's as well as Cucino's and Le Bistro booked twice with no problem. I called 125 days out as we are Platinum.

Only if you're booking the cruise less than 120 days before sailing.
Haven and some higher tier Latitudes members can book 130 days pre-cruise. Bookings open for everyone else at 120 days.
Platinum latitude members can book 125 days out.

Trying to secure dinner reservations for 4 nights. The package I have (balcony, 9 day cruise) states 2 free specialty dining dinners, and my platinum status allows for 2 additional. However, I am only able to book 3 online. I may have to reserve the 4th dinner once we get aboard, but was hoping to check this off my "to do" list beforehand. Any ideas? Has this happened to anyone else?
I called the customer service line this morning and got straight through. Had 6 specialty restaurant dinners to reserve and all were completed within 10 minutes.☺️

We have booked far enough out that, hopefully, it won't be cancelled. South America, January 15, 2023.🍸

We, too, are from Canada...Cochrane which is near Calgary. We will be flying into LA tomorrow from Phoenix and joining you on the Star. We travel to the U.S. southwest in the cold winter months. We have sailed several times with NCL. You should have a great time.

Name and cabin number only. No reason anyone needs your home address. It shouldn't get lost between drop-off with porters and delivery to your cabin.

Agree that you need to get out and move around to have the best experience. We were also on HAL for our Panama Canal cruise and really enjoyed it. Please take time to read "The Path Between the Seas" to learn a bit of the history of this engineering marvel.
Absolutely agree with the recommendation to read "The Path Between the Seas". It was a fascinating read.:D

You may want to post this on the Holland America board to get more responses. :)

You could also find a library in a town you are traveling in and use their computers to print for next to nothing there :)
I hadn't thought of that! Thanks for this suggestion.:D

Please don't take this the wrong way. But you are traveling for 5 months in a motorhome. A printer cost $50.
Small motorhome. Not lots of room. In 7 years we have never needed one.:D
-
I always take only electronic copies, and I don't even need those. The only thing that you really need is the appropriate identification.
Great. We won't have access to a printer unless we find a UPS store as we will be travelling for the next 5 months and don't have a printer in our motorhome. I have already asked my travel agent to check with NCL and see if there is any way that we can receive the required information earlier so that we can print before we leave next week but don't expect a positive reply. We aren't scheduled to receive our cruisedocs until 3 weeks after we leave home. Don't want to have to pay for printing unless absolutely necessary. We can make up luggage tags.

Does anyone know whether or not we must have hard copies of reservations for check-in or can you check in using your downloaded documents on your smart phone?

I have searched this subject and found no RECENT posts. Is anyone able to confirm that show times are usually 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.? We will be making specialty dining reservations and would like to coordinate them with show times. Thanks for any help you can give.:)

Our vote is Hotel Golden, a small family run hotel located across the street from the Borghese Gardens. If you book online with them on their website you do not pay anything until you check out and no deposit required. If you are good walkers you can walk to a lot of sights from there as well as easy access to transit. We have stayed there twice and will stay there again if we ever make it back to Rome. You will so love the city...our favourite of any of the European cities we have visited to date. We can still remember how excited we were before our first visit there 7 years ago.:D

Anytime Dining℠ - Princess Cruises
Anytime Dining℠ • Anytime Dining℠ Fresh and Flexible, Dine Any Time Just like a restaurant at home, Anytime Dining enables guests the freedom to dine when and with whom they wish, at any time between 5:30 PM and 10 PM. Reservations are available through an onboard dining hotline, but not required, and diners may choose
Try the Regal or Royal as they are new ships and very good. We cruise NCL (Gold), MSC (Black), Princess (Elite), Celebrity (Elite+), RCI (Diamond+) and HAL (Copper.) They all have something to offer, Only you can say whether you will like it or not. People post their experience and their judgment of food, entertainment, etc. One cruise on any ship/line doesn't give the whole story. JMHO!
Anytime Dining was not offered on Dawn Princess or Sun Princess for our cruises. We know many people who love Princess. Based on our 2 cruises, we choose not to sail with them again as NCL is a better fit for us.

We recently took 2 cruises with Princess to visit Australia and New Zealand. The only reason we did not cruise NCL is because NCL did not offer the circumnavigation cruise of Australia nor the itinerary we wanted for New Zealand. The main thing we noticed was the lack of dining options on Princess when compared to NCL. We were also forced into set dining times and tables which we did not enjoy.:( There was no anytime dining in the dining rooms. The dining time was either too early -- 5:45 or too late -- 7:45. We are not fans of the buffet but that was our only option some days as off ship activities kept us out too late for our chosen early dining time. The entertainment also was better on our NCL cruises. We usually try to stick to cruise ships of around 2000 passengers and the 2 Princess cruise ships were this size. Princess balcony cabins were smaller than Norwegian but there was adequate storage space. Bathroom was a bit too compact for our liking but we made it work. We are unlikely to cruise with Princess again. NCL suits us much better.

We also have a yearly plan that allows unlimited 30-day trips out of the Province and Country. A lot of Canadians also don't realize that their Provincial Health Care plans are really not portable to another Province. Every Province has a different rate schedule and your Provincial Plan will only pay out according to their schedule no matter where you are in Canada when you incur a medical expense.
-
If you use the insurance offered by credit cards, be sure to check the upper age limit. We use Medipac for travel medical and generally Manulife for trip cancellation.:)
-
Have these problems not been fixed?

Rest of the world doesn't seem to have caught on to Vanilla Slice either.
Canadians have! At least this Canadian. :D So good. Looking forward to trying the slice in Australia and New Zealand.

We would love to see you all visit Canada! Entry is free to all to our national parks this year in celebration of our 150th anniversary. Lake Louise and Banff are spectacular. Sad to see what is happening south of the border.

We noted the 5 lb. difference over the 20 lb. limit for carry-on that we have experienced in overseas travel with other airlines. Think the 50 lb. limit is about right for the checked bag. Spending time taking things out of carry-on and re-weighing. We will be away for 2 months on this trip and packing was already challenging. Thinking about buying a new, lighter carry-on as my current one EMPTY weighs over half allowable 15 lbs limit.
NCL Jewel-Tokyo to Alaska live review (maybe...)
in Norwegian Cruise Line

Great review, thank you! We are booked on the Jewel next March. I note you mentioned she was going into drydock next year. Do you know when that is scheduled?
