  1. we don't have big jobs or anything like that, we are not loaded to be going on cruises the hole, we are very lucky to be going on this one, once in a life time for us

Most folks on cruises aren't rich. Take a look at the dates in my signature. We are averaging every 4 years. I'm a factory worker in Illinois. When you get on there you will find that a good percentage of us are common folk that save for a year or more to make these trips.

  2. That's ignarent to say sitting with the peasants, I'm a first time cruiser aswell, going in May, We won't go to the meet and mingle coz we'd be afraid to meet people like that, we will stick on our own, we don't have big jobs or anything like that, we are not loaded to be going on cruises the hole, we are very lucky to be going on this one, once in a life time for us, I'd be very nervous to meet people like that,

It's being taken out of context. Look up Harryfat2 on here. He is really a nice guy with thousands of followers. The "peasant" comment was joke. He has jokes through out his 53 page review of the Allure of the Seas. Even makes fun of his own race. It's all in good fun.

Here's a link to the post. Check it out and cut the guy a break.

  3. Central Park accessible balcony

April18, 2015 $2350.00 that incudes the gratuities and insurance for both of us. Does not include any OBC, we booked last May when they were first offering BOGOHO. Now I see so many people are getting OBC, a call to my TA is on my agenda.

We were going to take the BOGO deal too but it turned out that they had a special for Illinois residents that saved us even more than that. We also got the $200 OBC. THink everyone in balcony or above is getting the $200 OBC now.

  4. I have been reading through the forums and noticed the perks for being a repeat cruiser with Royal. Will we really notice a difference in how we are treated as first time cruisers with Royal? I think its great for company's to reward loyalty, and I am not complaining. Just was wondering what to expect or not to expect. I believe I read in Cheapos Dad review, a comparison to "sitting with the peasants" while waiting to board. We will have our 14 year old and her friend with us, figured I could do a little explaining to them before we board. Thanks in advance. :)

You have nothing to worry about. It starts out with outstanding treatment and adds perks as you add points for days on the ship. It's really no big deal until you get up in the high points For example we are getting ready to go to the second level (platinum) For that we get: Exclusive Top Tier Event, Robes for use onboard, Signature lapel pin, Discounts on Balcony and Suite staterooms, Matching Celebrity Cruises® Captain's Club & Azamara Club Cruises® Le Club Voyage member benefits and ChoiceAirSM Plus fee waived (ChoiceAirSM not included) This is in addition to what gold level gets. So as you can see it has nothing to do with treatment, just perks for being loyal

  5. We are going on Indy for 5 days then on Allure for 7 with a hotel night at the beginning and one in between the two cruises. I'm calling the Indy leg our warm up cruise. :D We have only been on Voyager class ships so far so we want to see what the other two classes are like.

Has anyone here ever done something like that? I'm kind of wondering how the part in the middle will go.

  6. Our youngest son will be two months shy of 21 when we cruise. He would like to enjoy a few drinks while on board. A glass of wine at dinner and a beer or two by the pool. How strict are they on enforcement?

I agree with Derrick. If you take the chance you cold end up looking for a flight home from some foreign port. I personally don't think it's worth it for a few drinks.

  7. Is that over all? or within a certain timeframe?

    Although it doesn't matter - that's 25 7-night cruises. We won't do more than one a year, so that's mute (25+ years)

There's no time limit. We've only gotten to go every 4 years and our points from 12 years ago are still good. As a matter of fact after our Allure cruise next year we will move up to the second level, Platinum (30 points). Right now we are at Gold. You get Gold after your first cruise.

  8. Awesome!!

    Thank you!

What's Diamond C&A? How do I get that? I'm guessing it's Crown & Anchor? And I'm also guessing it's more than my first RCCI cruise. lol

Sailing Allure of the Seas - 2/15/2015

You are correct. It's Royals Crown and Anchor points program You need 175 days at sea with Royal Caribbean to get there. Good Luck. :)

  9. For me the DD is an extended verison of My Time Dining.

For DD, rather than having one Main Dining Room you can choose from several restaurants and make reservations.

I did make an review of Dynamic Dining for a Quantum sailing in January

Link to review and a brief description.

Thanks for the reply. Will check out your review as soon as I finish this I haven't done My Time Dining yet either. Our last cruise was 3 years ago and I guess they didn't have all that yet. At least on the Voyager class ships. Ok going to go look at your review. Thanks again.

  10. Can anyone explain to me how DD works or send me a good link on it? We are booked on Allure of the Seas April 24, 2016. They have us set up for My Time Dining right now but from what I'm hearing that might change after the dry dock. I've read a little bit about it but haven't found anything with good details on exactly how it works.

  11. I'm on the Allure now and have just posted a full list of prices for the Feb 1 sailing on the following thread:

    http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2163283

The prices are pleasantly lower than I was expecting and for the middle "Premium Voyage Plan" the cost is $150 for 2 devices and $115 for 1 device - lower than the $160 for 1 device that I had seen listed previously.

For anyone with Diamond C & A the offer for internet is 1 hour of free internet or $29.95 off any internet purchase, so with the $29.95 discount I paid $85.05 for a full week of unlimited internet access.

We're also on the February 8 sailing so if the prices are different to these I'll post the info here.

    Ken

Thanks again. The prices sound pretty good to me. Think I'l go with the medium speed too.
