Make contact with the admin at Boat Nerds and another good resource is the admin at the Valley Camp Museum Ship at Sault Ste. Marie. I used to work there and several of my friends are still in the area actively involved with Boat Nerd and the museum. They're not directly affiliated but I know they can direct you to where you need to be. In fact, if you call the Valley Camp ask for Paul....he's your best bet. I know somehow a former co-worker of mine snagged a trip aboard a freighter so don't give up yet!

Forgive me if this has been covered here but I read through two entire pages before skipping to this most recent page. MY EYES!!!! :eek:

Anyway, someone recommended to me to get some pre-paid Visa or Mastercards with smaller amounts on them and only have one with me at a time. They said to keep the others, along with my debit card, in the room safe. Once I've exhausted that card then I can use the next and if it's lost I'm not forced to use a credit card or my debit card and it's not a huge burden.

What are your thoughts and/or suggestions?
