  1. A not very well know or advertised tidbit about parking at the Galvelston Cruise Ship Terminal. Veterans with "Service Connected Disability" park free. You must show your VA Disability Letter or VA card showing % of disability at check in. A disabled car tag or plackard is not required.

How safe is this parking option? We are taking my daughters car. She is stationed at lackland. I'm rated at 60% service connected. Since its not my car I want to make sure its safe or secure.

  2. I hope no one minds me jumping on here. I am trying to understand the gratuity charges and Cheer's. When I book Cheer's online it shows no extra charges for taxes or gratuities. I understand that tax is calculated and charged per drink ordered on board and only when in a US port. Is it safe to assume then that the gratuity is calculated and charged per each drink ordered the same as the tax would be and not by the program price?

Can anyone who has used Cheers onboard confirm this for me! I can't find anything on Carnivals web site. John Heald talked about it a few weeks ago but It still seemed a little fuzzy to me!

    Thanks!

I just purchased Cheers online for our June cruise. The 15% gratuity was added into the price at final purchase. I was charged $229.77 x 2 (49.95 + 7.49= 57.44 x 4=229.77) which breaksdown with the gratuity included in purchase price. and from the funshop: $49.95/day 15% gratuity will be added to cart.:p

  3. Got Upsell in form of an email on this upcoming cruise, which is our first with Carnival. Came about 1 week after we booked online with Early saver and Paid in full at the time of booking for the June 9th conquest cruise. We were booked in an 8A balcony on Deck 6. We were offered an 8E Balcony on deck 9 or 10 :pfor a $20 charge. I grabbed that deal

  4. We were in that room in November and loved it. Very quiet location. Loved having a "private" door at the end of the hall that goes right out to the entrance to the lido deck public areas. We always book lido deck and this was our choice room.

That makes me feel so much better. I am still new to this "choosing your cabin thing" after i booked on deck 6 I thought about all the noise below etc. Even my Dad, who loves cruising, told me to jump on this deal.

This will be my first cruise with carnival.
