  1. Thanks for the input Kevin, most people seemed to have stayed in the Tower. I would love to hear from anyone who has stayed in the older building. Just wondering if the upgrade is worth the extra money.

You're welcome. Unless, we get another free upgrade, that's probably where we'll be Dec. 11. I will update you when we get there. :)

  2. Hi All,

We stayed at the Riverside last week and are returning in less than 2 weeks. We got our room through Priceline and stayed in the newer tower. No WiFi, but there's an Ethernet cord that's long enough to use the computer anywhere in the room.

The room was roomy and included a table w/ two chairs, a desk and chair, king size bed, lounge chair, TV cabinet and mini bar. As you know, the location is great, with plenty of places to eat on Las Olas. CVS and Starbucks are just a quick 3 blocks away. As mentioned, the cab ride to the cruise port was about $15.

We were more than satisfied with the hotel and are happy to be staying there again.

  3. March yourself down to the bookstore or library and get a copy of Jill Conner Brown's The Sweet Potato Queens Book of Love or The Sweet Potato Queen's Big A$$ Cookbook & Financial Planner. Both have a recipe for what she calls the Chocolate Stuff which is almost identical in flavor and texture to the Warm Chocolate Melting Cake and MUCH less complicated than the recipes listed in this thread.

    Enjoy!

You can't get much easier than the recipe I used from this thread. I'll attempt again on the 4th.

  4. I have used this recipe and it is a good one. I only have the 7oz ramekins and when she says that they are just too big, she means that it is too much to eat at one time - I know......I tried and couldn't. :D

I use Hershey's special dark chocolate chips, and they are really good. I just bought the Dark Ghirardelli bars to try next time.

I cook my almost-full 7oz ramekins at 400F for 16 minutes. I like my middle to be pudding-like.

    Sheila<-----------thanks marieinsouthfla for the recipe:)

    8 oz. dark chocolate (i used 1 1/3 C. semi-sweet choc. chips)

8 oz. butter (i used one stick salted, one unsalted)

    5 eggs (room temperature)

    5/8 C. sugar

    2/3 C. flour

I used this recipe on Friday with 7oz. ramekins and mine were to "cake like". I'd prefer a more "gooey" center. Any suggestions? Thanks!
