  1. yes. Go to the outside of deck 5 and head toward the bow. There is a set of stairs (on both sides of the ship) to take you to deck 6 and the helipad. The stairs kind of look like they might be for crew only but they are open to all passengers unless the weather is bad. If they are closed because of the weather, they will be blocked off so you can't use them.

    thanks so much!!!!

  2. I was on Serenade in October. It took me a few days to find. I saw it on the map of the ship. Found out I had to go on deck 5 and the a private stairs to reach. I don't think many people are aware of it's existence as my husband and I were sitting in that area for a good awhile and no one else came by. Also one of the crew told me it's sometimes blocked off depending on the time.

So can you access deck 6 helipad from deck 5 ? Are their stairs on both port and starboard sides ?

  3. Looking forward to your review. The aft outdoor Windjammer, did you feel rushed to vacate your table after eating? Were the whirlpools nice and hot? Did they offer a coffee card for a discount? Did you have to book entertainment in the theater? Was there a lobster night? Did you do the next cruise offer? Did they have roast beef sandwiches at the park cafe? Was muster drill done in time for sail away? What time did you board? Did most people get off the ship at port? We are going in four weeks, so excited!!!!

  4. Yes to the lazy river idea. Get rid of the slides. Connect river to all the pools. Small pedestrian bridges over the river where needed. Great views along the side of the ship. Possible graduated decline from 1 deck above with terraced tide pools. Fun and relaxing. Choice of tube or not. Lights up at night. Bubble holes in places. Also jacuzzi jets in places. Put it on a new construction mega ship

  5. This would not be a Concierge issue, it would be something to discuss with the CK Host/Hostess. That is who I would call to get the current policy on a sailing. We might be seeing a policy that is changing to a "space available" situation.

Ok, so I just got off the phone with RCCL. We are HOTS JS JANUARY 28. I called to make Costal Kitchen dinner reservations, and was told that pre-boarding reservations are only available for GS and above. JS have to make reservations on board, assuming there are any openings left!!!

  6. Thanks for the review. Was dinner at Coastal Kitchen fully booked ? Just wondering why you couldn't dine there for dinner.

    Thanks!

Right. We are in a JS HOTS 1-28-2016. Looking forward to going to Costal Kitchen for dinner. Someone posted a Daily Planner HOTS Day 1 Saturday November 26 and it shows Costal Kitchen dinner Grand Suites and above only. That can't be right, right???

  7. So sad, so sorry for all involved. When we were on Allure in Nassau this past January, we watched this exercise and thought that RCCL should offer this as a paid itinerary. We would have gone as we didn't get off the ship that first day. Guess that will never be happening now. Again, so very sad.

  8. I'm not allowed to look at 2018 yet.

That's funny! Anyway, serenade Jan 15, 2018 has been available for less than 48 hours, and all interior rooms on decks 10,9,8,7,4,and 3 are all gone! The only available interior rooms are on deck 2 now. Do you think that all the ta's have gobbled them up, or is there some kind of event on board? Lucky for me I was able to book mine since I go back and forth between cruise critic and RCCL multiple times both day and night waiting for this. Having never been on serenade, is it really this popular? Somebody called it a rust bucket!

  9. Thanks SO MUCH for the link and help finding the dates and itineraries on CruiseCal! This is the first time I have ever been able to find what I was looking for on that site! You helpful people are so wonderful to share your knowledge! Thank you - Johnnie

Ditto. Although the snarling is sometimes funny, the real information has been greatly appreciated. Looking forward to Monday morning to book 2018. Thanks to everybody who posts.

  10. The meta categories are a new concept for me. It turns out that as far as balconies go, c = central, b = boardwalk, and d = ocean view. So you can't get a ocean view balcony for the price of a Central Park balcony because they are in different meta categories. That surprised me this morning when I adjusted my reservation(s). All balconys are not in the same meta category.

  11. Sometimes, Royal won't give a lower price on an existing booking, so cancelling and rebooking is the only option for those folks with no penalty for cancelling.

If you cancel and rebook isn't it possible that during that split second, or few minutes to refresh, that you might lose the exact cabin you wanted? Or does the agent have control of that room while it is in the state of processing? What if someone grabs it while you are still on the phone with Royal?

  12. CNN on tv would occasionally show no signal. Suprising. Wonder if internet also lost connection. American sitcom shows in foreign languages were fun to watch !! Floor tile sign on elevator shows what day it is. Funny cause on Thursday we thought it was still Wednesday so it was helpful. Still was getting turned arround on day before last day. (Deck six doesn't go through). Muster drill ran late so when we got back to room we were surprised that we had already left port !! And underway !!
