  1. Me too on the candles on Harbor Nights!! They are so pretty and for the price are fantastic gifts!! Didn't realize till i went to board that they were a problem! Oh well, I got them back when I disembarked and everyone loved their gifts including me!!!! UGH! can't wait to be back in Bermuda!!! I just got home home last Friday!!!!:p:p;p:p;p

  2. We just got off the Dawn last Friday... we loved Cagney's so much we went twice! Sorry, no menu pics!! Moderno's was okay, but we have a land based place we enjoyed more.... partly because there were more side dishes offered that we like. (it was also a little ruffer sea day so my husband was not too hungry!!) O' Sheehan's is a great place, small menu but some good food! I had the open faced Turkey sandwich on our last sea day and enjoyed that! My husband tried the Bangers and mash and will get it again the next time we cruise!

Enjoy...try new things....You will not be disappointed! If you order something you don't like...order something else!

  3. If I remember right....NS has tour buses...The Big Pink Bus... it was maybe $40 a person and it was a hop-on-hop-off kind of thing. We used that in New Brunswick on a cruise too.

We liked it because we could explore where wanted at the speed we wanted. Many different stops and if you wanted to stay there would be another bus in about 20 minutes.

  4. Sorry, we NEVER ate in them! We did Cagney's twice, O'Sheehans once for dinner and the rest from the buffet. I loved Cagney's, O' Sheehans was really good, I suggest the burgers!! As for the buffet, I think RC offers a MUCH better selection. This was my family's first cruise with NCL, it's a bit different from what we have done before. The one night we were going to go to the Main dinning room, there was not much that my youngest would eat so we skipped it.

If your ever hungry, grab some pizza from the buffet! My kids always went and grabbed some! I hope some one can help with the menus!

  5. You can also use the I-Concierge app.Download before bording, when on board, use their wifii.....No you do not have to pay for the simple version. It comes in handy for checking your account and you can also see what's going on for the day.

  6. Stupid question, can men wear cargo shorts and "nice" shirts? My husband is a Harley-Davidson t-shirt kinda fella, but him and our sons have some"plain" shirts. I read shorts are NOT really the way to go, but I want to know what people the REALLY go there wear!! I want a GREAT steak!!!!!

  7. Don't know what was done on both the STAR and the DAWN during drydock

to the foggy windows in question.

    xxxxx

On the DAWN Deck 12 there are/were 24 suites forward adjacent or near the Library.

Of those -10- are SD class balcony suites the remaining 14 are SJ Family Suites.

The DAWN NOLA 2015 trip west-carib my cabin 12030 (balcony) did not have any glass fogging

only notable problem was the balcony door opened at an odd oblique angle.

Yes it would be interesting to note if NCL during the dry-docks of both of these ships did any repairs to the stateroom windows.

Forward of these suites are the -4- DOS over the Bridge with no balconies and a all glass exterior.

don't-use-real-name I will be in 12030 in a few weeks! Did you like the room? I was "moved" from 12028, I know that had a bigger balcony, but do you know if this room is actually bigger? I didn't want to move closer to the front to 12026, I know... the balcony is bigger! I just didn't want to feel more movement, elevators can get me sometimes!!

    TIA!!

  8. Not sure if 12030 is bigger and didn't peak around to see the size of the balcony but it was noticeably smaller.

Why do your boys have to sleep together? There was a pull out sofa and a murphy bed in our suite so I assume 12030 is the same.

I'm sure you can ask for different things but we weren't really sure what to ask for because we didn't know what would be delivered.

From my understanding, 12030 does not have the Murphy bed. Knowing my oldest, he might just sleep on the floor!!!

  9. Thought I'd take a minute to give a very quick review of our trip on the Dawn.

Stateroom: 12028 (Family Suite w/ Balcony - once onboard considered a penthouse suite).

Just curious, it's my 1st time w/NCL, but i have seen where they sendyou a letter asking what pillows you like, do they still do that? is it an e-mail or does it come in the mail?

    Thank you! just wondering!

  10. I should have Reynaldo...12028 is the room next to ours....I am not one to ask for a lot, but if he is bringing snacks, I just prefer something we would eat! My husband and boys are NOT cheese lovers!!! And the strawberries, well maybe me and my oldest! My youngest is picky, he has never even tried gum!!!! I guess that is not a bad thing, but, give him a bag of chips and he will eat all of them!

  11. 12028 was supposed to be our room in August!!! But, someone from NCL called and asked if we would switch to 12026, but i didn't want to go further to the front and chose 12030. Didn't really realize there was a smaller balcony, but I hope the room is bigger! But my 2 boys will have to share one bed, a 5'11 16 y.o. and a 5'4 12 y.o.!!! UGH!!!

Can you ask for different snack? I think we'd prefer chips, pretzel rolls, M&M's and BLT's.

Hope you enjoyed it! Our first trip to Bermuda, not really sure what to do. I'm thinking beaches on Sunday, explore on Monday and go shopping on Tuesday.

  12. I have a cruise booked for next year. I received a phone call from a NCL agent asking if I would change my room for another couple who has stayed in the room I booked on previous cruises. I had the choice of other rooms in the same catagory. He offered us a bottle of wine for agreeing. We booked at great time and have the UBP so I should of tried for OBC instead... I didn't want to move forward or on the other side, so I moved us back a room. It has a smaller balcony, kinda dissapointed, but did not want to go further forward to a bigger balcony. It's one of the Family Suites w/ Balcony on the Dawn.

Hope the other couple enjoys the room!!!!

My point is I was called and asked, I did book directly with them online.

  13. Is there a lmit to cooler size? Wouldn't mind brining maybe a rolling one!

Do you have to put a tag on it or can you bring it riht on board? We are in a suite, could drop it off when we get on.

Can you have it with soda already in it when you board?

Sorry for the ?'s first time with NCL's and only 3rd cruise....

    Thanks for any input!!!!

  14. Carnivals Glory was my first cruise...Honeymoon for DH and I... Enjoyed it! Went on RCI Brillance last year with our 2 boys....Enjoyed that too! Both were to Canada, 1st a 4 night cruise the 2nd a 7 night cruise. We are trying NCL's Dawn next year to Bermuda! First one really out to sea and to warmer weather!!! We really don't get to vacation much, but really hope that the Dawn and Bermuda are wonderful!! Have a suite so I think we will have a great room. I know from the other two cruises we took.... it really is what you make of them.

  15. We booked that weekend too - also off of the "today only" offer.

    Here's a screen grab of the email - 2015-06-14_13-53-41.png

We received dining for 4, beverages package (2 adults and 2 children with soda package), and $300 OBC. Kids were cheaper via this offer too - not "free", but less than a normal 3rd/4th.

    Hope that helps.

    Yes, Thank you!!

  16. Thank you both for the responses....But the "mystery" part is I know that they change the wording sometimes...Like only the first 2 get the UDP or UBP. I booked myself no TA to call, I was just trying to see if someone here had the terms from that weekend.

This is only my 3rd cruise, 1st with NCL, so still a newbie to most of this. I know lots of you are very experienced and most likly would of printed out the terms, I'm just learning!! My first two cruises were booked from a three letter A travel agency so I didn't pay as much attention to this kind of stuff.

    Thanks for you help!

  17. Before I get the " use the search" I DID!!! I couldn't find what I needed.....Promos that I could find were not from that weekend....

Okay, I booked my cruise on Feb. 1st, I am wondering if anyone has what the promo was at that time. It has changed so many times, I just want to be sure that what I thought I was getting is what I am really getting. I booked a suiet, I believe it was $300 OBC, UBP for the 4 in the room (the first 2 are the UBP and the other 2 are the soda) and UDP for us all.

I just want to be sure, all of these keep changing. I know the weekend I booked they had great deals going on! I should of at least screen shotted it but was too busy being excited for my family and I!!!!

    TIA:):):)

  18. Feel your PAIN!!! Booked the Getaway for my Husband and I this NOV. cancelled that and booked for our family of 4 out of Boston on the DAWN. Hope we love it! Just wish there were more choices from Boston. Don't want to spend the extra $$$ traveling to the port!!!

I wish we were on the bigger ship...kids would have more fun....but to spend about 2 thousand more for a decent room (in a suiet on th Dawn) and the cost to go to NY....just not worth it!!

Hope you have a good time!!!
