  1. Has anyone heard of any rumors as to when the upgraded water slides that are coming soon to Liberty and Harmony will go to the other Freedom class and Oasis ships?

We were on Freedom in June and Indy in September and both ships had construction underway in same areas on port side adjacent to/ just forward of the sport courts and around to the side... Something underway and my guess is getting ready for slides to be added... Both ships spend a lot of time cruising out of FL... But just a guess...

  2. We have rented a car for our day in St Martin/St Maarten. Any suggestions of things to do / visit. A beach is a must, but we do not want to spend our day at a beach.

    Thanks

    - Check flight arrival times online and head straight to Moho beach from ship for a quick trip to watch a couple planes land before the cruise tours arrive

    - Drive to Orient Bay via Marigot and stop for a little shopping or lunch in Marigot

    - Finish afternoon at Orient Beach

  3. We can't all be in the RFS, right? That's 5 passengers, but its max is 4???

Depends on the RFS. Most all of them are more than 4 (8 or less) however there are a couple deck 12 RFS on Allure that are for four.

We (family of 4 with two teens) were in RFS on Freedom this past summer and simply book it if you can. 1) its great to have a living room as foresters a more family time experience, 2) the aft balcony was huge 3) Suite perks are great 4) two bedrooms and two baths gave plenty of space

  4. We are going on the Allure in May 2016, looking at the Premium beverage package. It will cost $399.00 per person. We have added up what we think we each may drink, and it comes pretty close to that. A far cry from our honeymoon cruise in 1986 on the Sun Viking, lol. I see the packages have increase at least twice since the beginning of the year. My question, should we buy it now and forget about it, or just wait until about 1 or 2 months before and hope a special is offered. We are celebrating our 30th Anniversary on this one so I just want everything to be easy and enjoyable, thanks in advance. :)

I wouldn't pay now. There is risk price goes up, but if you pay now you are giving RCI free $800 loan. I'd wait and see if BOGO pops up during wave season.

  5. Im booked in GS 1248 and just now Aft RFS 9708 has became available.I held it for now and was wondering what anybody could tell me about this cabin.it would cost me $352 to upgrade. Its just my wife and i so is it really worth the extra $.Also ive never stayed in an aft cabin before. Thanks

Go ahead and move... We were in RFS 8414 in May and loved it. You will like more living space and much larger balcony, which alone would be worth it for me...

  6. Jump to conclusions much? Oops, I guess we already answered that with a HUGE yes!

In about 99.9% of these "the sky is falling" claims like yours, it turns out to be something related to either the customer themselves (like browser issues) or the oddball credit/debit card.

Disclaimer - I am not a representative of this site nor of any site and I do not play one on TV.

I would guess that about 99.9% of posters like you that don't take time to understand the issue and click "quote" just to click it will make just as useless comment as your was. The problem is a legitimate issue and is affecting more people than you realize. I am unsure if you even had a charge that you tried to process over the past few days or if you were just offering commentary for no other reason than to post. If the latter, please refrain from further comment, if the former please accept my apology and let us know the date and amount of your *recent* cruise planner purchase. .

  7. The OP (me) has tried multiple times to make various purchases through Cruise Planner over the past two weeks. There are multiple posts on this topic across the forum where people are having problems with RCLs online web site system authorizing card transactions. Myself and others have had to call RCI to buy drink packages, internet, etc and have had verbal confirmation from RCI agents that there is a know problem with online (web) processing for "random" cards. Strangely enough, the same card works when you call an agent but with not work online. Additionally, the problem is not with the card issuers as I called my issuer the first time my card didn't "work" on RCI site only to be told by my issuer that their system didn't "see" the transaction and their system didn't "decline" any transactions... The problem is with with RCIs online merchant services processing and most likely certain BINS that are attempting to be processed through that system or something more internal related to how their system looks at certain bookings.

Back to initial post and the fact is that it is amazing that they continue to let this happen after at least two weeks...

  8. So an almost $10 Billion (Billion with a B) annual revenue company appears to refuse to fix their online Credit Card processing that has been broken for weeks. Is it crazy to anyone but me that they simply ignore and refuse to address problems taking peoples money through their web site??? Shareholders should be irate. Imagine if Verizon or other multi billion dollar company simply let their online site not accept "random" credit cards...

Truly amazing at how incompetent their IT and Business team responsible for online commerce really must be.

  9. CAN'T believe royal is filling their ships at these crazy prices.

To my knowledge both Hotels and Ships use dynamic pricing, or time-based pricing, to match demand to supply to maximize (increase) revenue. If the demand will support higher prices the dynamic pricing will get the pricing. All that said, the models move prices up and down as needed to stimulate bookings. For now, demand is allowing prices to rise in general and is leading to record number of new additions to fleets. Good news is that economic cycles are in fact cycles so in next economic pause (not that happening over next couple years) prices will dramatically shift back in favor of consumer due to both regular cycle and dramatic increase in number of staterooms coming on line each year that they will need to fill with fewer PAX...

  10. I am not thrilled with these enhancements. We have sailed in everything from GS to the Presidential suites on RC. We recently flew private to St. Thomas on a G5, stayed at the Ritz for 10 days, drank and ate like kings. Oh yeah we stayed in a club ocean front suite. This entire trip cost me less than some of the mock bookings I just did. Pretty disappointing.

Must have been one heck of a mock booking to top the cost of that trip...

  11. Any recommendations / advice for a first time Suite passenger?

We shall be in a 2-Bed Suite.

    A few would be....

    - Take time to meet (and have conversations with) people in Concierge Lounge. There are lots of interesting people in there each evening..

    - Relax one night and have dinner from the MDR that evening on your balcony

    - Enjoy the various Gold Card services from having your own (short) line at guest services to gold card seating around the pool

    - If going to Labadee get an over the water Cabana at Barefoot Beach
