  1. Hi Barbados,

It has been 26 years since we have last been to Barbados on a cruise stop, and we are looking forward to our stop there in February. We had rented scooters the last time in 1989 and rode out to The Crane and enjoyed the beach, etc.

This time, we are going the taxi route instead. What do you recommend as far as securing a taxi to head out to The Crane? I see you mentioned something about "government taxis" or that we can walk past them for other taxis. I'm not sure what we should do regarding that. There will probably just be two of us

How much would you expect we should pay in USD for the taxi one way to The Crane? Can we use USD to pay the taxi fare? We will not pre-book our round trip return because we want to be flexible on our return time. Also, are taxis readily available at The Crane or how would we go about getting that? Also how much time should we allow to return to the ship?

We plan on spending the day there, getting the day pass (if they have it available that day) and it sounds like you can use that towards food or beverage purchase at the pool bar. We havent decided how we will handle Bridgetown and if we will stop to shop or not - since I'm not sure if we can walk back to the ship or how far it is, etc.

Thanks for any information you can provide. Looking forward to it.

  2. Hi Frederick, glad to hear you enjoyed equinox for the most part. We were on the Equinox in the Mediterranean in 2013 and really enjoyed the fun at the martini bar ice bar in the atrium. I hope there are some good entertainers on the equinox when we go on our trip in February. Do you by chance have any of the cruise dailies that you may have saved and if so is there anyway that you could possibly get those to me somehow? I'm particularly interested in hearing the entertainment options and shows that they have on board. We have cruised many times and it's interesting to see the different show and entertainment options that they provide. We really enjoyed the "Miami DJs" with the drum, and a guitarist by the name of Nestor that was a Spanish guitarist that were on our Equinox sailing in the Mediterranean and hope that they are also in the Caribbean sailing when we go in February. I am also very surprised to hear that the bars are closing at 12:30 AM that seems very early for a Caribbean cruise.

Any other information you can give on entertainment would be appreciated. If you have your cruise dailies you might be able to provide the names of the entertainers that were on your most recent sailing.

    Thank you

  3. Thanks for the quick reply, Bruin Steve - really glad to have just caught you!

Sounds like it is doable, as the walking isn't all at once. Maybe we'll give it a shot.

Thanks again for the insight. It was because of your recommendation that this excursion first caught our eye!

    Have a great cruise!

We are planning to take the same tour in September. You will have to let me know how it was.
