I ordered 6 from swimsuitsforall. I will keep two of them and return the rest. Pices and shipping were good.
I agree. I ordered two today and the shipping for 3-day air was only 11.90. All the suits are on sale through a code they automatically apply.

If it's your stomach you're worried about, go with the one with the most side shirring. A lot of tankini tops "puff up" in the pool or hot tub and I prefer one-piece suits anyway!

If your DH is going to go Wow! when he sees you in the dress, wear it. He probably doesn't have a clue about the fabric, only that you look great in it. And as has been noted, you will get many opinions on appropriateness. I personally think the holiday gives you a pass. ;)

And is this the first time Tim hasn't hugged the departing designer and say how much they'll be missed? Very unusual.

The Malecon is quite safe to visit and has many amazing sculptures to view as you walk along it. Your children will find some of the quirkier ones quite amusing! You can begin the walk at the north end of the Malecon and end up at Los Muertos Beach on the south end. There are many beach restaurants there to stop and enjoy a refreshing drink or a bite to eat.
The bus is safe also and is used a lot by tourists. The best advice is to have your children seated quickly while you or your wife pays the fare since the driver will start up quickly and it's hard to keep your balance while standing. The ride will be about 15 minutes to the beginning of the Malecon. Tell the driver you want to get off at the Malecon, he is used to hearing that! You will have to walk a couple of blocks toward the bay to get to the Malecon once you get off the bus. After a day walking and seeing the sights don't hesitate to take a taxi back to the ship. Taxis are everywhere and they are cheap, probably about $12 US to get back to port. Be sure to agree on the price before you get in. Have fun!

I agree, never leave your belongings unattended. Or get a waterproof neck pouch for valuables and just leave your towel, book, etc. on the beach while you swim. You would probably be more comfortable wearing sandals while shopping in town.

CJW got married, fathered two kids, and has been experiencing good success pursuing his dream career. From what I know...he's way too busy to spend any time on the forums.
Our loss - his gain! Thanks, Anita. I always enjoyed the pictures because I tend to forget who designed what, and especially with this many people the names escape me. :p

I haven't been on here for awhile. Whatever happened to Curt Jerome Wild who used to do the fabulous recaps of Project Runway?

Good for you! I always say go with your gut feeling.
We recently spent a week in PV (a wedding) and honestly, we almost didn't go. We did just fine, but we never left the hotel complex. I will say that when we arrived, it was a bit unnerving seeing pickup trucks (not sure if they were military or police) driving around with men (not sure if they were military or police) standing in the back of the truck, holding machine guns. My hubby felt more secure seeing that, but I did not. When we left, we did not see anything like that.
The people of Mexico are so nice, and it's too bad all this bad stuff is going on. We felt like we were never in danger at the hotel, but we also never left it. If I were on a cruise ship, I'd consider the excursions very carefully.
Enjoy your Christmas cruise!
This is a common sight in Puerto Vallarta. It's just the way they do things down there.

This company is considered to be the most reliable in PV.

Though based in Bucerias, they will deliver your rental to the airport.

Vendors on the beach sell lots of trinkets that would be good for your office workers. In the past I've brought back glass swizzle sticks with different colored things atop them, animals, chile peppers, sombreros, etc. Cute and cheap, and people loved them.
Also, little papier mâché animals and birds with wobble heads. Looks like they're moving. Beaded bracelets, get a bunch and let them pick. A little more expensive are the colorful painted pottery boxes that are great for holding paperclips, etc.
For the $10 gift for male or female, I've purchased boxes of chocolates shaped like seashells, amaretto-filled chocolates, and there's a store near the Central Mercado in PV that sells spiced nuts that are to die for. A bottle of real Mexican vanilla (Orlando brand is a good one) might also be suitable.

I cant wait to go through the rest of the dresses on here!! Seems like there is a bit!!! I wanted to post an idea I had for a black dress and making a belt for it... What do you all think? Plus I am hoping it can do double duty on my B2B. One with the belt one without?
I really like the belt, very cute! If you can find another one that would give you a different look too. My granddaughter bought a sparkly one at Charming Charlie's that looks great with lots of different outfits.

Loved your review, Lara! I haven't been on Cruise Critic for awhile and was so pleased to see your latest adventure when I perused the forum today. So glad I didn't miss it! Have fun in Florida. :)

A couple of years ago I bought online some orange canvas flat-soled espadrilles. They were a brighter orange than I was expecting so they languished in my closet for several months. I threw them in my suitcase for a trip to Mexico and was amazed at how well they went with everything I owned, and I don't own anything else orange!
Since then they've been my go-to shoes for a pop of color, even with denim jeans. I've pretty much worn them out.

I need to get a purser hanger...that would make life easier. :)
Have a great time on your cruise!
Lisa
One thing to remember when buying one of those purse hangers is the type of bag you carry. I prefer shoulder strap purses and the long strap usually means my purse is going to hang down and touch the floor. Yuck! I really hate that.

I've worn Lee Riders Relaxed Fit for years. I have no interest in tight-fitting jeans and these are very comfortable for everyday in Colorado where jeans of all kinds are ubiquitous. I can see where the very fashionable ones would not be first choice for comfort! The only cruise I've taken jeans was to Alaska.

Let me just say you look fabulous with or without the jewelry. Stunning figure in those dresses!

I like Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer.
Ditto.

I'm thinking young at heart.

I say go for it. It might not be what I would wear but that's beside the point. I love a visual treat and if it looks great I will appreciate how you look in it. And I may tell you so if I see you! If it does appear costume-y, so what, it's not like cruising is real life anyway!

Hope you got a good night's sleep, Yoshi! I still love the dress but I agree the top is too big on you. Ha, if only I had those issues!
-
Yoshikitty, I think both dresses are stunning, and especially the floral print!

Hello Ladies,
Hope everyone is doing well. We had a great time at the Carnival Ball last night. I won first price.
Take cares and have a wonderful day.
Marie
Wow, Marie, I bet you are the talk of the ship in all your beautiful gowns, then the fabulous wedding dress, and now the lady from Rio! You are amazing! Glad you are having a wonderful time.

Terry, your comment about feeling like you're pregnant on one side of your belly - how about a maternity suit for the roominess you need? I think even Target has maternity suits and their stuff is stylish and not so pricey. Just a thought. :)
