  1. The last 3 cruises we’ve done on Celebrity we have gotten the classic pkg. perk and paid the difference for the premium. For a 7 night to difference is usually around 80 including tax and gratituty. I would think more about what you like to drink, how many you’ll drink and how much they cost.

Since classic goes up to $9 beverages, it’s nice to have a line drawn. I like all the fancy cocktails and wine so i know the premium package is for me because I will have at least 1 of those a day. Also, it makes it personally easier to know I can basically order whatever I want and not have to think about whether it’s in my package. I want to think as little as possible when I’m on that ship, lol.

I haven’t asked about getting them made with lower shelf liquors. That would be good to ask, but do know you will have to pay full price if it’s not included in your package, you can’t pay the difference.

  2. I have a friend that left San Juan a few days ago on a cruise. I don't know all the details, but I have heard a little first hand about the area.

In general things are up and running. Airport is working, hotels are open, etc. I don't recall which line he is on, but they reached out and shared that looting is an issue currently. He flew in the night before and shared that the cruise line opened up the ship for them to stay on board before leaving the next day for their security. Again, I know I don't have all the details and will be asking more once he returns. The main thing is the system is functioning. Safety for travelers will probably be an issue for a bit longer, but I guess my travel partners and I have assessed the risk and the experience we have. For us, it's not enough of an issue to change plans yet. We are sailing out in November and are arriving 2 days early. That will just mean we will go to the hotel after our flight and stay there as much as possible, but we will monitor as we get closer. And still probably make a trip to the Bacardi Factory! :) I think the biggest thing to remember is progress will be made every day, but in reality it is still going to be months to have everything back to how it was pre-2017 hurricane season.
