We were able to change to an extended balcony due to a price drop....same scenario as you.

so is the cove balcony better than a regular balcony? what do you like/love about it? We've only done inside and oceanview due to the prices. But there are some decent prices now with the corona virus scare
I didn't see an answer to this. I am curious about the cove balcony.

I don't have an answer for you, but I am interested in the answer. We are looking to rebook on the Breeze.

- Interesting. Thanks for sharing.

I am following. Sailing in March, so I am thoroughly enjoying your review.

I am certainly glad the 4J is a little bit unknown. We always book well in advance and have a 4J the last two cruises. We are sailing on the Horizon in March and have one again. I certainly don't mind the extra steps. I am an early riser, so no issues for me. We had a balcony on one cruise and I didn't think we utilized it enough. I will stick with this any time I can,

I paid 10.00 for two chairs, an umbrella and wifi at Jack's Shack. Everything about it was perfect.

I'm not sure which muffins you're referring to- is Glorious the name of the muffin or a description??? LOL!
Can you describe them a bit? I've probably had them, just not recognizing them from your description...
I thought that was what the muffin was called, but I could be mistaken. LOL. It was a bran type muffin. I thought it had raisins in it. They had it every morning out on the serve yourself buffet on the Lido deck.

Has anyone seen a recipe for the Glorious muffins on the Lido deck for breakfast? I had one every morning and really enjoyed it.
I would welcome any recipe close?

We have never sailed from Galveston, but I always search for a ride service separate from Carnival. In Fort Lauderdale, we use SAS ride service. It is very nice and reasonable. You should be able to find one there. In fact, search that Galveston port on Cruise Critic and I am sure people have posted about it. Do a search and I bet you find great information. In Tampa a couple weeks ago, we did a fly, snooze and cruise deal with a hotel.
Best of luck to you!

I may have missed it in your original post. What port are you sailing from? That would help my advice.

We recently cruised on the Elation. We had early dining. I like to eat in the dining room, so I was there every night. My biggest disappointment was never seeing a sunset. I know I could have opted to skip dinner, but I really enjoy that part. I saw every sunrise, so that made up for it. We are cruising in March and I chose your time dining for this very reason.
Here's hoping you have a seat that allows you to see the sunset.

We took the same type of group when my daughter was a senior. We took five of her friends along. It was a great trip for everyone. I had a signed paper from all parents giving me permission to act as their proxy should anything happen. The trip was smooth and never any issues.
As far as booking, you should book this ASAP. My husband and I are cruising March of 2020. I went in to do a mock booking out of curiosity and was surprised at how full the ship was.
Let me know if I can answer any specific questions, since I did this exact thing a few years ago.

I appreciate the clarification. I think I called it a direct flight when in all actuality ours is a non stop flight.

"Aviation annoyances aside, it’s likely you don’t think twice about one major detail: the number of stops the aircraft will make. You may know to avoid connecting flights (which include layovers), but confusing a “direct” for a “non-stop” flight may land you with a big surprise.
If you thought the two words meant the same thing, you’re not alone. But there’s actually an important difference between “direct” and “non-stop” flights. Check out more airplane facts you’ve always wanted to know.
Non-stop flights behave exactly as they sound; you’ll fly straight from one airport to another, with no stops along the way. Direct flights, on the other hand, aren’t quite as convenient. While the flight number doesn’t change, the term “direct” means the plane may make one or more stops along its route."

We have flown out 10 of 15 times on the same day have never had one problem. (from Michigan!) We can't have our kids miss more
than the week of school as well. Its not a possibility. We acknowledge that it is a risk but otherwise we wouldn't go at all. I hate when people fear monger about it. Do what you do and move along. haha!!
Thank you so much for your post. As teachers, we cannot miss more than the week. There are actually several reasons why we can't, but I won't get into all of them. Many people have answered me about doing this successfully. I really appreciate the last couple of sentences of your response. Hahaha.

I am enjoying reading your review; however, there are parts of it that give me added stress. My husband and I are both school teachers. It is impossible for us to fly out the day before. We have a very early flight on the day of the cruise. We have done it before without any incident, but when I read some of your warnings...I do have a bit of anxiety. I am trying to be calm about it. We fly out and sail on March 21st. We have a direct flight from Indianapolis to FLL.
-
You have a great sense of humor. I loved the lunch and dinner pictures once you were off the ship.
-
We are sailing the Horizon next March. Reading all of this is only builiding my excitement. Thanks so much.
-
We just sailed her. We had a great time....loved the crew.....size was great......we were pleased with everything on board. I have been on larger ships with all the bells and whistles, but this one still feels like coming home. I have sailed her twice in recent years and wouldn't hesitate to go again.
-
We thought we would book on board to get the deal. We found other deals offered were better than the one offered for being on a previous cruise. Both the casino offer and Early saver gave us better deals.
-
We recently sailed this ship. We were on the Main deck close to elevators. We never heard any noise and thought it was a great deck. I think we were in M164, but I cannot remember for sure. We would be on that deck again.

Sorry about the above post..I was thinking of a different port.
