  1. I believe you requested of Me "who will be on piano bar april 11/15 cruise "

I requested the info from the front desk and they had no idea this far in advance, sorry itr is the best thet could do and Me also .

They did search in there computer but too no avail

  2. How was the casino in general, whats your fav on westerdam , How did you do , any comments appreciated

We are on westerdam march 7 this year ( soon ) how was your time in the casino , not a card player pretty much we are both one arm bandits 1 5 25 (rare25 C) cent people .

Out of four previous Hal cruises and 1 RCI have broke even and once made $750 ( was on the RCI )

any info appreciated , will be budget orriented , we love the time there

Is there still smoking aloud for active players , never know now aday what we can do day to day for us leppers !

  3. Not to worried about lounge chairs to low for Me , Prettyone might argue but if I say nothing its one i Might win so....

But to keep harmony I will mention your point about the closet issue , I come from a long line of I do not BALL room dance and wore a suit for ever and never want to see other then a funny tie ever again , some say wanna be red neck where I live , not sure that fits for Me but I live among them or retired to living among them either way all good to Me . Thanks Very Much Elyce ( I love that name , daughter getting married grand kids maybe hmmmmm ) appreciate your help very much

  4. Non wrap , not to worried about the extra in a wrapped Elyce ( nice name ) we have never been in either but have always wondered about either , I am aware of size difference , My prettyone quoted "well we have always wondered about those cabins so lets go for it " upon my question to her if we were offered a upgrade if there was one .

pretty positive from the post here were happy with the cabin lol.

I since becoming lazy and no longer have to get up go to work have taken up photography and very much enjoy taking pics morning noon and night off the balcony , that said I have borrowed a camera back from who I gave it too to take panoramic pics for this cruise due to the responce from CC people in this post and also used up my air miles as i am trying to get into using a video camera . I retired from the Graphic arts industry , had the opertunity to see many famous FOOD photoagraphers work and others , ( they love hair spray on food , you would never consume food in a photo you have seen ) so I figured I would try and learn the sport lol , only drawback to all this is I am now carrying 3 cameras plus all the crap to keep em workin lol .

  5. Yes can get cool here , snow not to bad this year so far maybe 2 1/2 ft so far but has been a very cold winter those temps I posted have been normal this winter for us (Northern Ontario Canada close to Quebec boarder) hard to believe it gets over 100 in Aug , and like you I do not do well in HUMID weather hate it feel like a sweating blob lol

We have 5 dogs here 6 1/2 acres for them to run about on , 1 Siberian Husky , 1 Malamute Husky, 2 Old English bulldogs and 1 King Corso . NONE wanted to stay out long this morning at all !!

Yes another question , as you could imagine I am a early riser due to my four legged friends , On westerdam where would you send Me for a great cup of coffee ? My prettyone loves to do the laundry on our cruises ( press sheets on the bed ) I get up and hit the Balcony to see the sun come up , room service would be disturb her laundry practice so thinking of finding a place with a good cup of JOE .

We everyday have Breakfast on the deck here or on a ship ( well sept days like today ) so room service gets a workout with us on cruises

Any idea,s for a good cuppa Joe early in the Morning ?

  6. We are alike then Joanie

We loved the ship Zuiderdam, had some issues with crew but in there defence I think we were told that it was only there second cruise togeather as a team

We would go on it again

The Noordam was wonderful , we did a 10 day southern ( 25th aniv ) 3 years or so ago zero complaints on that cruise , everyone seemed to know it was our 25th and we were treated like royality was truly memory filled .

I awoke to this flashing on my screen this morning

    Extreme Cold Warning

    Issued at 4:51 a.m. EST Friday 27 February 2015

    Summary

A period of very cold wind chills is expected. Yet another frigid Arctic airmass will combine with light to moderate winds to produce wind chill values between minus 35 and minus 40 this morning. Wind chills will improve later this morning as temperatures rise under the strengthening late February sun.

So were very ready for this one lol

  7. LOL I like you Skoogs very much

Wow 5 years Well done I have quit before and have just not yet got my Brain in the right place as yet I have purchased a E cigi to try and see if that will get Me half way there .

If I may ask without breacking any rules of coarse how did you do it quit I mean ?

This upcomming cruise we are at the very rear of the ship first time there and like you we love Hal

Thanks for your post got some insperation there FYI I am closer to 60 now

  8. Well even as a smoker it is a evil nasty addiction that I and probably many more smokers wish they had never started .

Not sure there are inocents on either side of the issue, seems most of the complaints i have seen here at CC are about people smoking on there balcony , they being NON smokers I would guess yet Hal says you can smoke there . I still think if the smoker takes the time to get to meet the people next door either side and its discussed like adults instead of screw you attitudes on either side things would go much better , just My personal opinion is all .

TC Chrispb have a great next cruise .

  9. HI Natski!

Glad to see a valley lad here on the boards! I am a native of Eganville myself, but have lived in Ottawa(Kanata-Stittsville) for over 30 years now.

We have been in 5191 aft wrap on the Westerdam, and 5185 aft balcony (right in the middle of the aft) on Zuiderdam. Loved both; balcony is very large on both and fully covered from elements. You do feel a bit more motion than mid-ship but we did not mind it. 5191 had two loungers, two armchairs, footstool, small table, and two regular chairs with a larger table. Great for having breakfast on your balcony or just lounging. 5185 was a very long balcony and accommodated two loungers, two chairs, a footstool and small table. You do not get as much breeze there though. We had 5185 for our recent partial Panama Canal transit and loved it; great for watching the operation of the locks. I think either would be great for anytime of scenic cruising (like Alaska). We never had any problems with soot.

The aft balconies on deck 4 are quite open to the elements and you are overlooked by the decks higher up. Not sure whether this matters to you.

You will get spoiled in one of these balconies!

    Wow small world here lol

Yes vacationed here for app 45 years and always knew I would retire here and did so near Carson Lake , Toronto boy all my life till retired .

We are on the 4th , not to worried about being observed they want to stare at a old plad dressed red neck there welcome lol Jokin My swim trunks are not plad socks maybe !

Sounds like we are going to enjoy this Thanks a ton for this , hope to keep in touch Tc have a great next cruise

  10. Thanks so very much sounds like we are gonna enjoy this Jankn, I have always been interested in them but never thought of it until we were just assigned them last nite .

We have always had our breakfast on the Balcony a bit of a ritual for us , we plan what were gonna do that day there , I am a very early riser where as the Prettyone likes to continue doing the laundry ( Pressing Sheets ) and sleep in a bit , so I retreat out there and stare at the ocean .

    Thanks very Much
