  1. WHAT ON EARTH! We will be sailing a B2B on the Freedom in a few weeks! 2 suitcases will be checked pieces......So you’re saying someone at the pier took clothing out of you “locked” luggage! 🤬😡😱😡🤬😡! I use packing cubes so they could easily get the whole cube! One more thing to worry about! Think I will pack all the underwear on top layer!

  2. I really appreciate everyone's responses, they have made me feel a lot more at ease about going on this cruise with my shining bald head. For those that asked, No I did not have to have any radiation but I will mind my P's & Q's with the sun and use lots of sunscreen. I'm not sure that this will be a big excursion trip except for maybe lounging around the beach or a pool in the shade.

  3. I will be sailing about 1 month after finishing up my chemo treatments, So of course I will still be bald headed :p!!!

I usually wear a wig to work or formal occasions but other wise I wear a turban wrap, scarf or cap ..... I guess going to the beach I would wear a floppy beach hat!

My question is about getting the Seapass card photo done and then getting back on the ship after getting off for the day. Are they going to require me to remove my turban or scarf? Model my bald head in front of everyone? I know if I wear my wig nothing would probably be said but I'm not really fond of the ideal of wearing my wig to the beach! anyone have any thoughts on this subject?

  4. We are booked on the Allure in Boardwalk Balcony # 12329, which is the very last cabin over looking the high dive show. Has anyone had trouble with noise from the high dive shows? I booked this room without thinking about the noise factor because we have stayed in Promenade cabins before with no trouble but then again they don't host dive show in the Promenade!!!!

  5. Had you purchased the upper end Travelpro, they're guaranteed forever with repair facilities through the US (and perhaps abroad).

Yes- those are the bags you see almost every airline crew member dragging behind them.

Samsonite has a 10yr guarantee but I would have to drive 1 1/2 to 2 hrs. to the nearest repair facility. Then leave the bags and return another time to pick them up. This is the problem with living in a small town. The Samsonite outlet we purchased our luggage from 6 yrs ago has now gone out of business and it was in the next town over!! UGH!

**** Correction to my prior statement .... just looked Dallas repair center has closed, Now only San Antonio!

  6. After 6 hard years, It's time to buy new luggage. We currently each have a 29' Samsonite Spinner Hybrid (hard/soft sided) & 20' Samsonite Spinner Hybrid Carry-on. They have held up really good but they were very expensive!!! The rubber has separated from the wheels, the fabric has started to tear in places and there is dents & marks of course!

We would like to go back with the same sizes 29' & 20' and want something that comes in colors other than black & gray/silver.

    1...2....3.....Go! Thanks

  7. I am sure I will be flamed for these comments, but please try to understand that I am making a general comment based on my personal experience.

Although I live in the US, I was born and raised in UK, and have been "home" many times, also sailed out of Southampton.

When on a UK based cruise I have noticed many passengers dump plates in non-food locations, much more than on a US based cruise. Also I find many American passengers tend to clean up after themselves, or at least pile their dishes ready for pickup on a table. My last fast food visit in England couldn't find a table because of all the garbage. Even my young grandkids know to tidy up - watched a child on the Independence leave banana peel as he walked down pool deck - mother didn't correct him.

There seems to be an attitude "of you are here to serve me" whereas I find many Americans tend to make friends with the staff and don't expect to be treated like royalty for a week.

Sorry if this sounds harsh but have had this same conversation with friends and family in the UK and they agree, especially those who travel extensively. I do think the heavy drinking is partly to blame.

Sorry in advance for offending anyone. To OP sorry you didn't enjoy your cruise. Sailed 30+ times with RC, not always perfect, but have never had a complaint about the cleanliness of the ship.

We just returned from the Navigators TA sailing from Southampton to Miami .... Grandma Dazzles, I think you hit the nail on the head!! I've cruised a number of times but this is my first from Southampton. The ship was ,my guessimate, 90% full of British people. The whole attitude / gratitude was VERY different on this cruise. I'm one of those that clean up after myself. I straighten up my cabin before I'll let the cabin steward in to make up the room. I always stack the dishes to make it easier on the waiters/waitress. I did not see this happening much on this cruise by fellow passengers.

One of the worst things was they had no concept of what a buffet "line" was!!!! They would see something they wanted and jump right in front of you no matter how long you had been waiting in line.

All that happened I didn't let it ruin my cruise! Life is way to SHORT to be a complainer. I want to enjoy my life ... take the rough spots with a grain of salt or better yet pour some sugar on them!!

  8. Reading these post makes me think maybe I was on a totally different cruise! While the seas were a bit rough a few nights, It was nothing compared to the swells I been through coming out of the Gulf of Mexico at times. Now it was too chilly to enjoy our balcony and it did rain along the way, but I expected this since we were sailing the northern Atlantic in November.

We were totally surprised to get back in from our trolley tour in Boston and find that the immigration process was still on going. We met in the theater early that morning for our tour and was escorted to the dining room and quickly made our way through immigration. I'm still not sure what the hold up was after the tour groups passed through.

We had a wonderful TA cruise, enjoyed all the ports and the ship! I wasn't ready to come home!

Sorry everyone didn't have the same experience as we had!

  9. Not sure, but I suspect the coupons are for Surf only.

If you want Stream for 1 device, then the pre-cruise price (with your 30% off) would be $84. The onboard price would be (18*7) - 40 = $86. So very close in price either way.

WoW ....... Thanks for doing all the math for me! Maybe I should just disconnect from it all .... like I did when I first started cruising!!! It was a lot easier! :D

  10. ROTFL. At lease OP is not wanting to not tip. I kind of like the cash idea so you know it goes exactly where you want it to. As for me, we stick to the automatic and add extra in cash on our own where warranted.

    Let the fun begin.

This is exactly what we do! Just easier .... I just hope in good faith that our $$ goes to the right people!
