Does the Regal have USB outlets in the lamps like the Sky and Enchanted?

While we are on the topic of nickel and diming, can we also please throw in the fact, they'll now be charging you to ship the medallion to your home, if don't purchase any of the packages. I mean I'm perfectly fine just picking it up at the port at that point, but it's the principle behind it on how they think they are cutting corners. Little by little I'm feeling more more less appreciated for my elite loyal status to the company, because I choose not to pay an absurd amount of extra money on my cruise because most of those items don't apply to me from the packages.

If my ship is in port. And I am still on the ship. And I turn airplane mode off in order to get a cell signal. Will I pick up the signal from land or will it somehow connect to the ship and thereby cost me a lot of money if I use my phone? I am thinking that this might be the best time to catch up on email, phone calls, etc. I have T-Mobile and I will have unlimited text and 5GB of data for free in port. Voice calls will be $.25 per minute. But that is assuming a connection to the towers on land and not the shlip.
Just remain on airplane mode and use Wi-Fi calling. I also have T-Mobile and Wi-Fi calling works lovely with checking voicemail sending texts or receiving texts as well as the same for phone calls.

I agree with you 100%. Keep up the good fight

Why amazed ? We normally only enter the MDR around 20:00.
I am amazed at the number of people who eat dinner at 17:00, when it is still the afternoon, as far as I am concerned.

😂🤣😂 Not going to lie, but I'm already fast asleep by 8:30 p.m. each evening.
I eat by 5pm, gives me time to digest before bed, and I'm able to catch the 7:30 showtimes. Leaving me as one happy cruiser. 😊
To each and their own. I'm team TD all the way!
I end this with as Ben Franklin once said...."Early to bed, early to wise, makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise."

So as we all know according to those deck plans, no food has been established on those pool decks. This is getting me extremely concerned about how I'm supposed to have my daily soft serve intake with my swirls ice cream. 🍦

I recently just got off the Sky Princess last week, in all cruise I noticed my favorite brownies up in the lido deck have gone missing.
Where's the brownies???
I'm hoping when I board the Enchanted Princess in 2.5 weeks, My brownies will reappear.
If not I would like to know who made this executive decision to make them disappear. They didn't ask me or give me a survey.

I don't need the juices or the mocktails. Juice I happily get free of cost for breakfast and lunch daily. I can live without smoothies and mocktails. I just kindly ask for my soda. Such a simple request.

How about this. I don't drink liquor. But I do enjoy soda. If I want soda, I have to buy a drink package which contains liquor among other items. How about bringing back the old soda only package from days of old. I am sure I am not the only one who feels this way. What do you all think?

Wholeheartedly agree with everyone on this. If it were April I would have thought it was an April Fools.joke. Just what every senior over 70 needs....sugary desserts and gym classes.
Unless it's a long cruise we too take the basic fare. It's now becoming even more appealing. I can understand the raise in gratuities as all lines are doing that. But the rest of those " perks" are a joke. If prices become comparable it may be time to give our $$ to other lines. They are not showing us our loyalty means anything. Time for John to go.
Bravo! I'm voting for you to be the new CEO of Princess!

Why isn't John Padget holding focus groups or take surveys from their loyal passengers, before they roll out these idiotic plans? We the loyal passengers should have our voices heard and accounted for, before the higher ups roll out these plans before consulting us.

I noticed on the medallion app for my Nov 19th cruise on the Sky, that my medallion is no longer being shipped to my home. It now says on the app to pick up at the port. My daughter who is also on the same sailing with a different booking number had the same problem pop up. Anyone else experiencing this?

Does anyone have photos from their dining experience at Bistro Ser La Mer that would be willing to share? What are some food recommendations do you have, which would you skip?

Ok. I just called my insurance company up just now, and questioned them if I go to CVS for a test, and when they bill you the insurance company will the insurance company bill me or is it free of cost. I was told, for Travel you have to pay out of pocket, it is not covered. It is only covered if you need to be tested if you are or think you're sick. Same with my daughters insurance company, it not covered for travel.
Do any of you fill out the pre scheduling appointment for example at CVS and click that this is NOT for travel purposes and attempted to use that test result for your cruise?
I guess my question is, on the result page of your covid test does it state anywhere that you are clear for travel? How will the cruise line know if you were tested for travel purposes or if you thought you were potentially sick? Do they even care, just as long as they a negative test?
-
Honestly I have been very lucky and never needed to ever get covid tested. Now knowing that they will accept a rapid test from like CVS and Walgreens it sounds very enticing. Please excuse my ignorance with the testing, but are those rapid test at a pharmacy or venue free of cost as well?

Not enough voting options. What about testing with cruise line at the pier? What about paid rapid test?
Testing at the Pier with Princess is not an option. Its a last resort if needed, as they will not have enough tests for all embarking passengers.
The rapid test is your at home test kit.

I plan on doing the at home covid test. I'm too much of a nervous nelly, worried my results from the pharmacy may not come back within the 48hr window. Less stress for me the other way even though there is a fee.

I feel like some, BUT "not all," are pretty much saying: "Here's $280 just so I will not receive a bill at the end of my cruise." 🤷♀️ To each his own.
👏👏👏 I agree.

That's another point that many might be forgetting when they decide on Plus. On days when you're off the ship you'll get much less value out of the Plus fare than on sea days. So on port intensive cruises, it would especially pay to do the math before deciding.
Very true!

Yes, but the economic profitability model for cabin pricing requires every cabin with paid double occupancy, and the cabin only fares don't make a profit.
On board spending makes the profit.
Cruiselines are NOT about the passenger getting a deal or value for loyalty.
Cruiselines are about profitability.Cruise lines make tons of money through casino spending and liquor sales. So for those cruise fare only passengers, they still most likely buy drinks, and gamble in the casino even though they didn't opt for the plus package. And we have no idea how much they are spending in shops, excursions, specialty dining, etc. So you can't exclude them, by saying that they're not going to spend a single penny while they're on board. Theoretically, the cruise lines are losing out by offering the Princess Plus package if you want to talk in terms of being profitable, They are charging half the price for the drink package and throwing in Wi-Fi and gratuities. So I'm not sure which way really is truly profitable here, as many passengers for years in the past had no problem laying out $500 per person for a drink package and paying their $100 gratuities and $100 for wi-fi.
Lastly I think I would make a great CEO and I would be honored to take on that position. I'm about making the passengers Happy who cares about profits I'm all about having a good time.

Food for thought. How about this scenario... It has always troubled me and made me question when a solo passenger gets their own cabin, why do they still need to pay for double occupancy? Grant you I understand that everyone in the world would want to have their own room, and even some spouses as well would want separate rooms for the extra space (depending on the couple). Totally understandable. But..... I feel like if a solo passenger's already paying double occupancy, they may as well just give them the plus package on the house since they're already going above and beyond paying for a cruise fare so they can enjoy themselves on a cruise vacation. Instead they're just paying for an invisible person that's not existing in that cabin.

With a 35% casino discount on an inside cabin, we book the Plus package, and our price ends up being very close to the cheaper "savers" fare.
Just curious what is the 35% casino discount on the cabin? Does that mean you are a high roller in the casino. Please excuse my ignorance as I am just wondering what that discount means?

We book the Plus package even though neither of us drinks alcohol. I'm a coffee snob and can't stand the free stuff, so the specialty coffees alone make it worth it to me. We also enjoy soft drinks and hubby likes hot chocolate. The unlimited internet is also a great benefit for us.
They do offer a specialty coffee card where you can get 15 coffees or teas. I have seen several people at times order 2 cards. Now they no longer over physical cards, but it will be all preloaded on your medallion account.
