  1. Hello everyone,

I am off to NYC tomorrow to spend some days there before we board the Breakaway on Sunday. Quick question, where can I see how much OBC I have? I want to print this as some people have suggested bringing a print out but when I print the summary it only says "100 OBC" but does not specify the quantity (we got 10!). The only place I see the amount is when I click on Sunday under Itinerary & Planned Activities, but no option to print there. Any ideas? Thanks!

  2. Would you guys accept a free upgrade from a BD angled balcony room to a spa balcony? The pro is the tub and access to the spa, drawback is the smaller balcony and that they new room is near front while the BD was towards the end on the 10th floor. The spa room is 14702

  3. Thank you so much for the reply!!

I think we will probably do what you suggest, have the plan as it is but if I find we are too tired or that time is catching up to us, we can adjust it. And like you said, it will probably depend on the buses/ferries. My only worry is that 1.5 hrs is not enough to explore Hamilton/St. George (and if we don't do Blue Hole we can add a bit of time to each town). There is just so much to do in Bermuda! I guess we will have to go back ;)

  4. This is my plan for my second day at Bermuda in October with the Breakaway. The second day we are in Bermuda the entire day. I was some opinions on what I have planned, to see if it`s too much and should cut it down a bit, and if the transportation makes sense. This will be me and my husband to be, both mid 20s and no mobility issues.

Catch the Orange ferry at 9:30 heading to St. George, arrive at 10:30

Spend around 1.5 hours exploring St. George

Take bus 10 or 11 to Swizzle Inn, have lunch (around 30 mins?)

Walk to Crystal caves, do both caves (this takes around 2 hours, should now be around 3:30?)

Walk to Blue Hole Park and spend around 2 hours there

catch bus 1, 3, 10, 11 back to Hamilton and explore for around 1.5 hours

Catch blue ferry back to dockyard at 8:30 (does this last ferry often get full? is it hard to make it?)

So I'm feeling I might be packing too much and might have to drop Blue Hole Park and head to Hamilton earlier, but we wanted to explore it a bit. IS the plan as it is doable at all? Or am I scheduling too little time at each stop?)

Thanks in advance for the help!

  5. Hey Carol,

I have a quick question for you! :)

So the morning of embarkation our time is 9:30-10, so we want to head over pretty early in the morning. Do you think taking the train for the airport to port authority, and catching a taxi there to the Manhattan cruise port is doable? Or would you recommend a car service at that point? Thanks! :) I think I also read that the hotel we are at does have a car service for 15$ to Manhattan, so that could be another option (I still have to double check that with them).

Thanks Carol, you are great! :)

  6. Okay thank you!!

Yeah on the Canadian site, I'm surprised at the price! The only thing is that it is non-refundable, and I liked having the option to cancel if you find a better deal BUT I doubt we will haha

And thank you, I will also start researching the transportation, but you are probably right about not wanting to wait around for a bus at night. So am I understanding right, I would grab these trains in the train station located AT The airport? And then take the hotel shuttle back I suppose.

  7. The Ramada on Frontage Road Newark is listed for 90$ CAD per night, that is a great deal! Do you recommend I book this then?

Is there some sort of pass we can purchase for the transportation?

So if we get the public transportation, each trip into/out of NYC would be 7.57/pp?

  8. Was that the Ramada you meant? The price on expedia is great if that's the one you meant!

And yeah I see it's worded weird. I was just wondering if you have access to public transportation from the airport. But I guess this does not matter if the hotel provides a shuttle to the train

  9. Honestly, I am not sure. I just tried to do it again and no luck. I must have typed something other than what I thought. Can you take anything into NYC from the airport? But as long as I can figure it out, then I am not concerned if it isnt from the airport. :)

  10. Is it the Ramada Plaza Newark Liberty International Airport, Frontage Road Newark NJ? In Canadian ex I get the non-refundable room for 90$ CAD, that's crazy :S

Not sure if you have my earlier post, anything you can tell me about that hotel? Hampton Inn.

  11. Yeah I just looked too, so I am not sure if I want to book with them. That being said, the cost is now what I had listed before from Canadian Ex for about 900 CAD. The other hotel I was recommended is a similar price, the Hampton Inn Newark-Airport 1128 Spring St., Elizabeth, New Jersey, 07201, USA . Are you familiar with this one? If there are the same price, I am not sure if I should pick the Hampton since it does have a shuttle to the airport. I am not sure if its paid or complementary.

edit: Actually not sure about the shuttle now, can't find it again. Not sure what I saw

  12. We do have some plans! We got a two day NY pass (yes I realize some say this is not a good deal, but we liked the convenience of not worrying about paying for stuff and carrying less USD with us). I haven't exactly planned the days, but we will be seeing the common touristy places. I am thinking we would probably head to NYC early in the morning and then stay there till late at night (or as late as the transit allows). We do have a Broadway show book Sat AM, so that's the only day I am a bit concerned since it might be late.

I really appreciate all this help!! You have been wonderful, I've been struggling for a while trying to find a hotel and your help have made things so much easier.

  13. Okay I realize I look like a crazy woman talking to myself. But just found the site you meant, and I also found a 45$ off promo code which would mean the hotel would come to 521 USD or roughly 671 CAD. Amazing!!! I think I will for sure book it, I probably won't find anything close to this anywhere else. I think since we would only do it twice a day, 1 hour bus trip shouldnt be awful (specially if we survive the almost 9 hour train! haha)

  14. Carol,

I must be slow, but I am not seeing the price you are seeing anywhere. I googled "Kayak for Easy Click - Country Inns and Suites Newark Airport" and nothing. Is that just ont he regular Kayak website?

I'm seeing the hotel on Canadian ex and it is listed at 185$ CAD a night (before tax) but says the total in USD would be 700$. There seem to be only suites left.

So would staying in this area be better than staying a hotel on Jersey City across the Hudson? I haven't really found nice hotels in the area, but it is much closer.
