  1. We'll be in Tampa on Easter Sunday for non-cruise travel and are doing an Easter brunch on a yacht (search Yacht StarShip) in Tampa Bay.  They also have dinner available.  Lasts about 2 hours.  Reasonable cost for being a holiday and a nice meal.

  2. Just booked Rainforest Adventures through TripAdvisor for June cruise.  They offer a package that includes transfers from/to the pier (leaving one hour after the ship is docked) and has an option that let's you make a reservation, but will not apply payment until two days before the date.  You still have to provide a payment method that only puts a $1 charge on the card at booking to ensure it is a valid card.  You can also cancel at any time with no penalty.

How does someone know what will be going on in the ship to make up minds what time to book? I don't know what time the shows will be, but I know my mom will want to go to them. Is there a place to find out this information before on the ship the day of the show?

Good point.  Show times are generally in-line with traditional dining times.

  4. After doing trikes in Aruba, we've (me, DW, DS) been following them and have reservations for June 9, I'll let you know how it goes. My confirmation states we will meet them outside the port entrance and will be dropped off in the same place after the tour. I also think the trikes are automatic; it's not a big deal for me (kinda nice, though), but it may make the tour more accessible to others. My DW and I did the Coz Harley tour before DS and feel it was the best tour we've ever did. Hopefully, this will be comparable.

Our June 9 tour was cancelled on June 7. The backstory... We attempted to make reservations when I first learned of the tour in Jan '17. After several e-mail exchanges they could not give confirmation due to ongoing government approval processes that had no end in sight. We moved on and made reservations at Mr. Sanchos. Fast forward to May and we received an e-mail stating they received government approval and they could confirm if we were still interested. We were, so we confirmed with the trike tour and cancelled our Mr. Sancho's reservation. On June 5 (while on cruise that embarked June 4, glad I got VOOM) we received an e-mail stating they still hadn't received license plates, but were hoping to before June 9. I asked them to keep me in the loop and started researching other options. On June 7 they officially cancelled stating they would not be able to get license plates prior to June 9. Looks like were going to Paradise Beach as our faves (Nachi and Sancho's) are full; not too bad a trade off, just not our 1st choice. While I appreciate them keeping me in the loop and it's apparent they are working to finalize everything they should have not sent out multiple e-mails "confirming" the tour unless they were sure it was going to happen. It's not too big of deal for my DW and I, but the DS was looking forward to this tour more than any other on this cruise. I'm sure one day they will offer a wonderful tour, but they still need to get their act together.

  5. We've been in close touch with the Trikes Cozumel company since we did the Trikes Aruba in February and absolutely loved it. While there, they told us that Cozumel and St. Maarten were both going to be up and running in the next couple of months.

We cruise in June and have tried booking, but got the answer that they had not yet got their government approvals, so it was a waiting game. They have the bikes and everything ready, just needed the approval (of some sort). I received confirmation last night that they got their approval and will have the license plates for the trikes next week!!

WooHoo! We are confirmed and very excited to be some of the first to give this tour a shot on June 22. I will come back and review of course. We really loved it in Aruba, always have fun on the east side of Cozumel, so interested in what the itinerary will be (they did not tell us where we will be stopping). We now have all our excursions and plans secured!

  6. Question to those who have purchased the Deluxe Beverage Package and VOOM One Device package... Does the VOOM include streaming or is it the standard VOOM without streaming? The reason I'm asking is the package description does not include the word/term "stream", but the standalone internet package does. And, the planner no longer offers a VOOM package, they are all surf+stream for however many devices. I think I remember at one time VOOM being different than surf+stream at different price points.

  7. It's doable, but nothing I would do. Put me in the group who prefers to fly-in the day before (or even late night before) to minimize the impact of weather or other delays.

In addition to using a shuttle or limo, you may consider renting a car. A lot of CC'ers do one-way rentals between MCO and PC and vice versa. However renting a car day-of with your timeline would almost certainly add time to a relatively tight schedule.

Welcome to the wonderful world of cruising.

  8. I believe they only allow 100 guests per day.

I just saw a post that indicated Nachi has increased the limit to 130 guests per day. I don't think the increase (if true) will make much of a difference.

  9. http://trikes-cozumel.com/ I believe they are open for booking. 😊

I completed the on-line form and received an e-mail within a day stating they are finalizing government approval, hope to be in business soon and will contact me as soon as everything is set-up in order to finalize the reservation. I think one of their social media sites notes they hope to start operating sometime in Jan '17.

Before DS, my DW and I did the Harley tour and had a blast. We all loved Trikes Aruba a few years ago and are looking forward to Trikes Coz.

  10. We've sailed AOS twice with a considerable amount of time between sailings and the most recent in 2015. Wasn't disappointed with the condition of the ship either time. Great itineraries trumps any minor signs of age. With that being said, we're sailing OOS in June '17 and chose the sailing based on ship rather than itinerary as it will be our first Oasis sailing.

  11. Renting a car is normally the best way to go - as plenty of CC'ers will attest to. You can find similar priced hotels in both Orlando and PC. It comes down to what you want to do pre-cruise.

We've stayed in Orlando pre-cruise and went to Universal (can be expensive) as well as Disney Springs (pay for what you do, fun to just walk around and people watch).

In Jun '17 we were planing on one or two days pre-cruise on the beach on Cocoa Beach until we decided to visit friends in Tampa who very graciously volunteered to drive us to the port (I think they are using it as an excuse to hit-up Disney on their way home ;) ). We are also renting a car post-cruise to kill time before our flight home - probably Disney Springs for a few hours.

  12. Haven't been on Oasis....yet, sailing in June '17. But, it is a DreamWorks ship and they usually have a parade featuring Shrek, Madagascar, etc.. characters. Also, there should be a pirate themed night where the children will get to dress up and take over the ship by marching through different areas - this is an AO activity. The Character Breakfast is also a hit for most little ones. AO will have a bunch of fun stuff planned like talent contests and different themed activities. If they are old/skilled enough, my DS loves ice skating, you must sign-up onboard. Not sure of the dates/times of any of this, but you may be able to find recent Oasis Cruise Compass' on CC.
