  1. Agree wholeheartedly. And that's exactly what Dynamic Dining and Grande tried to provide. But if you followed the threads, beginning the Inaugural Cruise began the whining. Passengers stated on CC that they wanted the menu in Grande but didn't want to dress up and it wasn't fair. But even you insinuate that it is fair. So if Traditional Dining required suit or tux, people would complain because they like Traditional Dining but don't see why they have to dress up.

Grande was the perfect solution....until the very first cruise.

So if I like to dress up, and RCCL provides a dress up only venue, Grande, and someone want to eat there and demands that right but refuses to follow the dress code, who is being self-centered?

hi sis i dont understand what you said you say that grande is grand and nice and old time dining is nice i dont understand its like will and grace where jack and karen walker were at a nice fancy restaurant for a meal i miss will and grace

  3. I hated P&O so much after the debacle of our first two cruises with them that I've got Britannia booked for December this year and are probably going to book Arcadia for Iceland next year.

I also hate the lot of you on this forum for daring to suggest that once you cruise you get hooked. Not a chance.... ;)

hi sis if you hate it so much why you go again on p&o boat ? am confused.com you dont like yet you go on cruise me finds it strange and me often tell people that it is a strange world i tell you its a strange world.

Hi sis on formal nights me like to get dressed up and look nice but for breakfast and lunch we just go casual and yes i wear flip flops and yes i wear my hat do you have problem with that ?

  10. Some cruise lines now don't print the pictures - they are displayed on a monitor and you search through by date/location/event and order if you like what you see on screen. Good idea - stops wastage but the costs aren't any less!!! When you think that they've saved all that printing why aren't they cheaper? Rip off comes to mind.

hi sis me and my husband always get a picture of our cruise as its a big deal for us and we have all of them in lovely lit picture frames in the shape of a big boat on the kitchen wall and all my neighbours love them and it the night time the flashing neon lights make them stand out its nice and the photo people are nice have given us photos for half price and often some free

  11. If they were all tables for two it would look like Butlins.

Rather than tables for eight looking like McDonald's?

stop it please and this is silly talk from people we all have to live in harmony and just like eurovision song contest its all about building bridges i love daiB i love insanemagnet i love you both and i wont let you fall out over this we are all great people and when we go on a cruise you see how beautiful the world is i work hard for my cruise and work overtime on saturdays and get cash to spend on my vacation and its up to us the officers the crew the chambermaids to all get along and be friends not fighting over tables for two

  12. my husbands user name on email and other sites has bra as the second part (his first name, underscore, bra) as it is the first three letters of his last name..

hi sis, i am used to people getting my name mixed up and yes people laugh at my surname whi i used to find upsetting but now i get over it as i find that people who comment are not nice people but many thanks for mentioning that in the forum as people are sad

    your best bud and thanks

  13. it was the cheapest sausages, unappetising fatty bacon, disgusting weak tasteless coffee from the machines. .

hi bro and hi sis for me the fry up is important and i like the fatty backon between toast with lots of melted butter i think this is lovely with brown sauce sorry you did not like the sausages and you said they were cheap sausages which i dont really eat and tried them before from lidl and prefer the ones from aldi and i think it might be the way the chef cooks the sausages coz its importnnt what oil he uses.

  14. Another charming story....

We had stopped at an IHOP for a bite while in Key Largo and my mom noticed that she had forgotten her sweater at the table. We were only in the parking lot and I returned to retrieve it. I saw the waitress and asked her about it as it wasn't at the table. She said "oh, the white one with the pretty buttons?" I said yes, that's the one. She replied "no, haven't seen it!" We did not get it back.

these are the type of persons that should be reported to the police time and time again these people are let off with everything and as servants of the public they should bow heads in shame i say boycott these places and report report and complain complain about these people i cannot stand them and cannot understand dishonesty isnt it awful that we love in a world where these scum always win

  15. the food wasn't as good on the spirit in april, the crew still so friendly but quite a few missing, the entertainment was not up to the usual standard at all, that we have had on our previous spirit cruises, very disorganised and not a friendly ents team at all

you see for me its the fry up thats important and for you its trying to find missing crew which i find hard to believe that maybe they are not missing at all but may be on holidays and maybe you forgot that the servants are allowed to take holidays which is good as they can go home and see their families and their friends which is nice the entertainment is ok on thomson ships and i said it before and i will say it again me thinks that we should start a campaign to keep thomson name and its cheap and cheerful except for the missing crew but am sure they will come back again.

  16. Clarification on the "what's a Kindle" discussion. An e-reader is a generic term for an electronic device used to read e-books.

A Kindle is a specific brand name for the e-reader that is sold by Amazon. Some models are specifically used for reading, other models are also a tablet with apps for doing countless other tasks.

A Nook is a specific brand name for the e-reader that is sold by Barnes & Noble.

An Ipad is a specific brand name for a tablet that is sold by Apple and can also be used as an e-reader.

This is like calling a facial tissue a "Kleenex" or a cotton swab a "Q-tip". Brand names versus generic names. (Unless you're from the southern states of the USA, where any kind of soda-pop [fizzy drink] is a "Coke" regardless of what flavor/brand it actually is!)

Not trying to be snooty about this or anything -- just wanted to clarify as we have people from multiple regions/languages posting here, and clarity is never a bad thing when it comes to communication.

hi sis, and yes where i come from the correct name is a chambermaid or a servant you may not like it and me have to agree that a kindle is for reading and never heard of a q tip i assume its for ladybits ?

i fing it a shock that some get offended by other countrys descriptions of things. tires are tyres and so on. royal caribbean cruise lines is called royal by many on this forum which is not right but i dont complain on here people can be so sensitive but getting back to fining 20 pairs of underpants behind a television on a carnival ship isnt that awful i fell awful if i was to find a lot of those things behind my telly.

so if the man that is supposed to be cleaning my room is called a stewart a chambermaid or a servant it is the same thing really they dont celan the room well enough as many have posted here and yes they should be fired if you dont do your job properrly you get fired. simples.

  17. If you want hot toast you have to be in the right place at the right time - when the waiter brings it freshly made from the galley. It's just not practical to keep supplying permanently hot toast in a mass catering scenario.

I would have though brown sauce was standard issue on a Thomsons cruise - did you ask why it wasn't available, and, if so, what was the response ?

hello wee mann,i brought me own brown sause, as they had run out the year before. i understand what you said about hot toast. lets not forget toast is bread and the servants brings it from a kitchen far away. me like the hot toast and the fry up in the morning. its nice. i like it a lot. breakfast is great on a holiday and never once got a bad fry up from the servants they are good. i think we should keep thomson as when it changes no more fry ups it will be foreign stuff for breakfast and if i want that i can go to lidl and i prefer the fry up hot toast and brown sauce with me rashers and melted butter in a sdandwich. then we go to the lido for some nice fancy buns and tea. we dont really go on tours cuz you have to spend money which i dont have to spend so we enjoy all the free food on the ship and the servents are nice as they get to know us and i dont tip them aas i have no money to tip them but on one cruise the servants brought me a cake for my birthday and they sang some songs which was nice. the servents were good singers and made me feel special, i work hard for me cruisres and work overtime at weekends to pay for holidays on boats. the welfare cant pay for everything so we work at the weekends to get extra cash to hrelp pay the cost of the holiday which is nice and alwas great
