  1. Doing the solo thing for the first time on the Carnival Sensation October 18th, a 4 day to Key West and Cozumel. Every two years I do a 3 or 4 day with my sister and her husband and some friends, but if I’m flying to Florida I want a little more cruise than a 3 or 4 day, so I threw this 4 day on Carnival in front of the group’s four day on Celebrity. May swing a day at Disney in the middle just for kicks! Leaving the husband at home with the puppies.

  2. HAL’s collectors cruises prices don’t drop. I’m doing Panama Canal cruise which is considered a collector cruise. Prices never dropped. I got best price booking early. I am paying price for 2

  3. 3 full transits for me. 3rd will be March 4 2017

I will be going solo and am looking forward to it. No conflicting choices of what to do. I even splurged and got a veranda. For me, it’s a must for seeing the Canal

What line are you cruising with on March 4th. I leave that day on HAL. Like you, I have booked a veranda.

  4. I did it last summer. It was a great cruise. I joined up on some private excursions in advance, met lots of people at music trivia, and overall had a very nice time. Great crew.

Sounds great. I am so excited. I love HAL. I like that the ships are smaller and more personal

  6. Hi. I’m erica and will be sailing March fourth on the Oosterdam, through the Panama Canal. I will be sailing solo. This will be a first for me. Excited and nervous at the same time. I plan on taking advantage of all activities, even though those are limited on HAL and shore excursions at every port. [emoji106]

  7. I have cruised many times, but this will be my first solo. I will be on the Oosterdam 3/4/2018 doing the Panama Canal transit. I am hoping they have a singles meet. I am so glad to have read others posts. I hope they do have a singles table for dining.

  9. While we are on topic of B2B, how is debarkation for each leg of the cruise typically handled? Do you have to get off the ship and go through cutoms/check in or can you stay on the ship? I have my first one in December and the turnaround port will be Ft Lauderdale. I have the same cabin for both itineraries. Can't wait!!

You do not have to get off ship but if you do, it’s no big Beal. You go around all the people waiting to board

  11. I am going to be a first time solo cruiser. I am looking forward to it. Don’t have to fight over who gets to throw their clothes over the chair and sofa. Lol

I am doing the HAL 16 night Panama Canal Cruise March 2018

If there are other solos going would love to meet some of you

  12. Don’t wait too long. Waiting for a good price is nice but when the cheap cabins booked only higher priced cabins are left. Happened to me on cruise I’m tasking. I got the last cheap unabstructef veranda. Price after me went up quite a few hundred dollars

  13. I tend to avoid the bacon. It's usually greasy and limp. I prefer bacon that's been drained and is crispy. Some of the desserts can be hit or miss. The cookies are generally okay, but sometimes some of the cakes offered can be a little bland. If you ever see cake pops, those little round balls of iced cake on a stick, skip them. They're not very good.

    I agree on the bacon

Real greasy and packed together. When you try to have 1 slice it’s all stuck together and you get about 5 slices
