  1. Hello! Question about the covid testing protocol. The Royal website states:

    • You must receive a valid results document from your test provider that includes the name of the lab that processed the test, the lab’s CLIA Lab Number or Certification Number, the address of the lab, your name, the date the test was taken, type of test, and your negative result. This can be a printed document, email, or telehealth app notification. Fully handwritten doctor’s notes (such as those written on a prescription pad) will not be accepted. Minimal handwritten components (such as a check mark on a “negative” box) are acceptable as long as the other required information is printed on the document.

My question is when checking in for your cruise do they look to see if your results are negative or do they actually look for the labs CLIA number? I have heard that some places do not print the CLIA number on covid testing results (only place I have gone has printed it but it is through work and they wont test for vacations) and I do not want to book a COVID test elsewhere and then be out of luck if it is not printed on the results page!

  2. Thank you for the replies!

I hadn't even considered adding a land portion to the trip. I will take a look at those as well.

We have never "done" Alaska so I am sure no matter what I end up choosing it is going to be amazing!

I just tend to overthink and research things to the ground before making a decision!

  3. Looking at rebooking my cruise to a 2022 date which means more research! I am debating between two different trips and any information would be greatly appreciated, especially if you have done the San Francisco departure! I am sure both have their pros and cons, and honestly the only requirement I had when looking was making sure Glacier Bay was part of the trip!

  4. Trying to narrow down cabins on the Royal Princess.

    It is basically between:

B732 - last side balcony aft of ship

A202 - towards the forward of the ship

    A508 - midship near elevators/stairs

They are all a deluxe balcony room. Has anyone sailed in any of those balconies or close to them that can shed some light? I am traveling with someone who is worried about ship movement or noise from ship propulsion  being too far forward or too far back but at the same time is worried about too much foot traffic mid ship....

    Any info would be helpful.

  5. Looking at Alaska 2021 doing a land tour first then cruise. Everything I have read says Coral is the go to for Alaska. Started doing some research and found a longer trip 12 nights instead of 10 nights Denali Explorer followed by cruise Whittier to Vancouver on the  Royal. Its two extra days on the land for about 1200$ less than the Coral, both balcony rooms.

I feel like I have read so many things saying do not do Royal to Alaska. Is Royal really that bad for Alaska? I have read about the inside passage and how Royal goes west of Vancouver Island which not an issue since the cruise I was supposed to be on this summer did the same thing so not missing that. I have read most of the boards but am on information overload trying to replan the vacation. Has anyone done this exact trip that can shed some light?

  6. I am looking to book a cruise in August and right now it is between Princess and NCL.

Any thoughts on the difference? The itineraries are the same so that's not a selling point. Anyone been on both and would recommend one over the other??

    Thanks!!!

  7. Hello All!!

My family is looking to take a cruise at the end of August to Bermuda and we’re looking at the Escape and the Celebrity Summit. I was wondering if anyone had been on either of these ships and could give me some insight (pros/cons). I have been on the Breakaway and loved it but haven’t been on Celebrity!

    Thanks!

  8. Hello All!

I will be on Harmony in 25days (July 14th) and have a few questions that can hopefully be answered!

    1) Has anyone who has sailed her done the behind the scenes all access tour? How was it and was it worth it?

    2) Is there a huge difference in price buying a beverage package on board vs. ahead of time?

    3) I noticed on some other ships there have been drink cards sold half way through...has anyone seen that on Harmony?

    Thanks!!!

  9. I have started researching excursions for my cruise. I will be on the Harmony of the Seas in July 2016 and one of our stops is Palma De Mallorca.

One thing I have come across is the Drach Caves. Has anyone every done them before? Worth making the trip? It looked like it was about an hour from where the ship docks.

Or if any one has any suggestions besides the Soller Train that would also be appreciated!

    Thanks!

  10. Hello All,

I am going to be on Harmony of the Seas in July 2016 and was looking into wine tours.

I came across Provence Wine Tours which offers wine tours that work with the schedule of the ship. I am leaning towards the one that stop in Cassis.

Has anyone used this company and can provide feedback?

    Thanks So Much!

  11. While following the OPs story which I'm not sure I fully understand I was wondering if one of you could clarify and answer some questions for me

If I link a credit card to my account does the cc company put daily holds on the card or just charge you at the end for what you charge to the sea pass account?

Is there a benefit to using cash? Will ROyal cut you off if you exceed the amount of cash ( doesn't sound like it from this story)

  12. Hello!

I am booked on Harmony of the Seas for July 2016. We have an ocean view balcony (d5) on deck 12. When we booked we were told 12 was sandwiched between decks that have only passenger cabins. In looking at deck plans now it seems like that information was wrong and we are near Wonderland. Has anyone on any of the other Oasis ships or any ship for that matter had a cabin near a restaurant? Was it really annoying?

Looking for any help before possibly trying to change cabins.

    Thaks

  13. I am sailing on the Harmony in July of 2016 and when we booked all that was left was My Time Dining.

With this selection is there any difference besides not having a set time between this and a regular selection for dining? We would still be able to eat at all the other complimentary restaurants correct?

Just a little confused and have heard different opinions of it and was trying to get my facts straight.

  14. How do the multiple embarkation ports deal with vacationers who want to buy posh or spa passes? Do you still get that first day start of your cruise experience or not really since there are already people half way through their cruise?

Also is it a big deal with if there are multiple embarkation ports?!

    Thanks!

  15. I was on the Breakaway in April and used the little picture kiosk.

I do not believe I was charged for using it. We took pictures and uploaded it to social media and also used it to send a message to family that was picking us up (then we didn't have to pay for an internet wifi package!)

  16. I am looking at cruising the Epic in July for the Mediterranean cruise.

I was wondering what (if any) the major differences in the balconies are? I was looking at the deck plans and the only difference seems to be the size and location. I was debating between a mid-ship balcony, large balcony and aft balcony.

I cruised in a mid-ship balcony on the Breakaway and loved it!

    Thanks!

  17. I think you are going to have kids either way on those dates.

I know my schools last date is the 21st for students 23rd for teachers of June, so you may have some kids but some schools are just ending the day you would leave.

For August, even though Labor Day is late this year some schools are starting before Labor Day around the 2-4th so you may run into families trying to get in one last vacation.

I was just on the Breakaway from April 5-12 during Spring Break week for many schools. There were TONS of kids everywhere but I was able to find places away from all of the main places kids gathered and it was fine. I had a wonderful time despite the ship being full of kids.

  18. I have been reading the boards excessively in order to prep for my cruise on the Breakaway leaving this Sunday. I have come across so many different threads about what the UBP does and does not include. I have read the NCL discription and a bunch of threads and am still slightly confused.

Are frozen drinks, martinis, margaritas, and fun tropical drinks included?

It's a vacation I want to try fun fruity drinks!

  19. I currently live in Morris County, New Jersey. Is there anyone from around that area that has a suggestion for a car service to use to drive us to the port? We are leaving on the Breakaway out of Manhattan. I have googled a few names and submitted for a price quote but have heard nothing back so I was curious if anyone has a name of one they use!
