  1. Have a great time! We are sailing next week! I do have a couple questions, if you have time!!

    1. When testing is it self administered?Or do they have someone swab you?
    2. Do you know if the internet packages are cheaper once on board? We got the 250 minutes as a promotion but have a kiddo at home ( staying with grandparents 🤪) and we would like to be available if needed. I wasn't sure if I should upgrade now or wait til we are on board.

Thanks for your time and have a great time!!!

  2. Good evening,

My husband and I were looking to book the 3 night specialty dining for our Harmony Cruise this October. I thought I read somewhere that Hibachi (Izumi) was not included in that package. Sorry if this’s a repeat question but I can not seem to find anything specific on it.

    Thank you in advance

    Amanda

  3. Hi everyone!

What are your cruise secrets? What is something you uniquely pack for every cruise? What is something you have to do on every cruise?

I always bring an over the door shoe rack with me for every cruise for not only clothes but other things as well!!

Share your secret must have or must do!!! Would love to know some tricks for my next cruise!!! :D

  4. We are staying near Anacortez and taking the ferry over to the islands in the morning. We are not taking the car as I have done my research and the excursion we are doing offers transportation.

Also we are taking an Alaskan cruise so I thought I would post here. Don’t post much on cruise critic cause normally I can find out what I am looking for from other post so was unaware of the west coast departures board.... didn’t think it really mattered.

  5. It is a popular place for a reason! This is my husbands favorite excursion that we have done! It is a large area so yes there are some crowds but we were able to see everything in our shore excursion time frame. We booked through NCL when we were on the Escape. The ferry is about 45 min but it wasn't a bad ride (even got a good nap in ;) I know they offer an excursion where you can swim into the Gorda with a Guide. We did the non-guided excursion and moved at our own pace and did our own thing. We took the ferry and then were shuttled over!! Best to go with the earliest tour (as we did) that way crowds won't be such an issue!!! Oh and I recommend water shoes!!!

Hope this helps! If you have any specific questions let me know!

  6. Looking for a some advice!

My sister and I will be cruising in September on our first ever Alaskan cruise!!

We are going to arrive 2 days earlier to explore Seattle and will be renting a car. I was wondering if anyone has any insights on if certain rental cars offer a shuttle to Port Seattle after you drop off the car at SeaTac? (Miami airport offers this service).

Also if not, does anyone have any recommendations for shuttles to take? We have looked at Uber and it is about $47 total one way.

    Thanks :)

  7. Hello everyone!

I just have a few questions for those of you who have been on the Bliss. Also first time Alaska cruiser! We are traveling in Early September.

    1. My sister is prone to motion sickness but has cruised before with little issue. Have been doing some research for this cruise and have read that traveling round trip from Seattle there can be a lot of motion. While she doesn’t mind taking medications, I am wondering how the movement is on the bliss?

    2. Glacier Bay is on our itinerary. According to it we spend half a day there. (Morning) I have read a lot about people taking the Tracy Arm ShoreEx but that is not offered on my cruise or is sold out (as I can not see it). So on the Bliss, do we just cruise into the bay where the glacier is and cruise out? Obviously the Bliss is a large ship so I understand we won’t be able to get close but how is the view?

    3. I have read some mixed reviews on if the pools and water slides are heated. I am not a fan of cold water but how could you not do the water slide where you go over the side of the ship? So will I need a wet suit so I don’t freeze or is the water slides and pools heated?

    4. We don’t have an excursion planned for Ketchikan. Is this a port we can walk around and maybe sightsee off the port or should we book something? Any recommendations?

    5. Of course we would love to see wildlife! However, we know that they appear when they want and there are no guarantees. Was wondering if the ship informs you when they see it ( like whales) or if you just get lucky to be in the right place at the right time.

    6. Last question... promise hehe. My sister want binoculars for the trip but doesn’t want to buy. Has anyone ever rented any? If so where?

    ThAnks everyone who responds :)

  8. First trip to Alaska planned for September this year!

My sister and I would love to kayak with whales! While we realize this isn't a guarantee. I was wondering if anyone had any luck with this! And if so where is the best location! We have done the big boat whale watching tours but would like a more intimate one if one does exist. Have done a lot of google searching but would love to hear from someone who might have done this experience!!

Our ports of call are Skagway, Victoria, Juneau and Ketchikan.

  9. My sister and I are going to Alaska in September! We are looking to kayak and hopefully see whales!

Can't decide which port will be the best place to be able to see them! Anyone have any recommendations?

Ports include : Victoria, Skagway, Juneau and Ketchikan

    Thanks!
