  1. We tip on the ticket and we always try to go to the same few bartenders. Our favorites always learn our names and drink preferences by the second day. And the pours are strong and sometimes get too strong. Twice I have had to ask a bartender for a weaker drink. I have never carried cash onboard. That is one of the nice things about cruising. We do tip in cash on the last night if we feel someone has gone over and above.

  2. Ya I was assuming you could go like 5 ft under? How deep do you have to go to start worrying about pressurizing?

I don't know how deep I was, but at a certain point the mask does start to press too hard against your face. I just come back to the surface and pull on it to break the seal and go right back to snorkeling no biggie. Now I do see these people who dive way down and stay there for a minute or 2 and that would be painful to do with this mask I think.

  3. Keep in mind, if you dive under the surface, you cannot clear them or equalize the ear pressure... so if you only stay on surface they are ok.

I can dive under without an issue although I don't dive that far under because I'm not a strong swimmer so maybe that's why I don't have a problem.

  4. My husband and I have them. Absolutely love them! My husband still has a little leaking just like he does with a regular mask because of facial hair. When it does leak you just lift your head and it drains out the bottom, but mine doesn't leak at all and it's not tight at all. Don't regret the purchase at all and I can't see ever using a regular snorkel again. We have the tribord brand.

  5. I'd like to know this as well.

Been on the Dream 5 times. Except for one time we have never given the mattresses a second thought so they must be comfortable. That one time I was really uncomfortable and the steward put a foam pad on the bed, was still having issues so he put another one on. After that I was getting really fed up and I don't remember what I was planning to do, maybe switch mattresses with hubby LOL, but I picked up the mattress and found a beach towel rolled up under it. Took that out and was comfortable for the rest of the cruise. Can't figure out why anyone would do that.

  6. I either have terrible swelling that nothing helps (dry brushing, supplements, diuretics, etc.) or I have zero swelling. There is no rhyme or reason. I always drink bottled water, so that makes no difference to me. The one thing that does seem to help is wearing compression socks while traveling to the port. We have driven, taken the train, and flown. The times that i haven't worn compression socks while traveling, I have started swelling the first night on the ship and it just gets continuously worse until I get home. So something must happen while traveling even though the swelling doesn't start until I am on the ship.

  7. Thanks for the review!

We have only cruised once, in January on the Elation. We never noticed a problem finding lounge chairs to sit on. According to these boards, it seems it's usually a problem, did you notice that on the Dream or were there plenty? I'm not really worried about sitting by the pool, we just would like a place to relax in the sun.

    What was your itinerary?

We've been on the Dream 5 times and we've never had a problem finding loungers. Now if you want right by the main pool or on Serenity then you have to get up early and plant yourself there, but other places were never a problem. And don't forget deck 5. Tons of loungers rarely used there.

  8. Technically you could still do this, but instead of the kiosk you would have to cash out at casino, right? So- buy discounted gc, fund your account- and the night before heading into port, transfer a certain amount to your casino account and then cash out...that would work also, right? :)

Yeah I guess it would! I've never tried the casino thing myself.

  9. Can't you also just withdraw it from the kiosk?

No you can't withdraw cruise cash or gift card funds from the kiosks anymore. The first time I funded my account with gift cards I was able to withdraw it from the kiosk. I thought that was awesome because you could then in theory buy enough discounted gift cards to cover spending money for ports (or anything really) too! 10% off CASH! Of course they fixed that loophole quickly. 😊

  10. We use gift cards. We just handed them over to the check in person when we set up our S&S cards before we got on the ship. She had them loaded to our account in less than 5 mins. When the cruise is over, you can let them either send you a check for the balance (ours came in less than 5 days) or you can cash out your account at the casino.

The advantage to gift cards is that I buy them at a discount or I get fuel points at Kroger. Filling up my car for $1 a gallon is sweet! LOL. I try to wait for the 4x fuel point sale.

Do they allow you to do this at all ports? We mostly cruise from New Orleans. I didn't know you could fund your account before you get onboard. That would be easier than going to guest services or the kiosks.

  11. Just curious because t sent that an expensive way t travel? I see posts about how solo has to pay so much more

His 16 year old brother is in his room also, so he's not solo. Not that it matters he's not paying for it anyway LOL! But yes generally you have to pay for 2 people in a room even if there is only one.

  12. Great thank you. Yes he can have his own room because it's right next door to us. He could have actually been several doors away. His 16 year old brother is in his room also. We've almost always had them next door or across the hall, but this is the first time he's being treated as an adult in the booking.

  13. My son is 18 and in his own room. This will be the first time he'll have his own account. We got him a gift card to apply to it. When he spends all of that, what happens? Does his card stop working or do they let him keep charging to a certain point and then call him down to GS to add more?

  14. Everyone keeps saying take the #10 bus, which we plan to do, but since everyone keeps saying that I'm wondering.... Does it get too full? How many #10 busses have to come by to be able to fit everyone on especially as a lot of people are getting off the ship at the same time.

  15. In ten cruises, the only places we have had a problem with mosquitos was at chankanaab back by the crocs (no where else in the park) and in Belize walking through the jungle to a cave. We carried bug spray with us in Roatan when we went ziplining last month because we assumed it would be just like walking through the jungle in Belize, but we forgot to put it on and we never saw any mosquitos. We were just all around the Costa Maya port and nearby town and never saw any. Choose activities that keep you in town or on beaches and you'll probably never see any.

  16. I think we are going to just wing it in Nassau. There seems to be a lot more to choose from than I originally thought. If we feel like a beach day I think we'll head to the tiki hut or the Hilton, but more than likely we will just wander. Fort Fincastle, the staircase, maybe the pirate museum or the zoo, then down to arawak cay. We booked a snorkel trip with Pat & Diane's for Freeport although we haven't gotten a confirmation on it yet. It does make me a little nervous just because we did their brewery tour by limo once and it was a horrible experience.
