  1. I have read you can get a boat to & from OIA & would avoid the cable car which may be good for us as I don't think my husband would be keen (plus q's are lengthy) I also read that its quite easy to get a bus independently.

Problem I find with excursions is that its a whistle stop tour of several places and not enough time in all of them.

  2. As you pointed out this is only our second cruise our first wasn’t great as it was only for a week and we were both ill for most of it. As the next is for two weeks and a special occasion  I wanted to reserve a cabin, when I rang and spoke to cust services they told me which ones were available, I chose that one as it looked great and larger balcony etc

my gripe is that no comment was made about It being for 4 and as there were only 2 of us we may be moved which I think should have been mentioned during the phone call. It does seem strange to me that they take your money to reserve but then can move you!

  3. We booked cabin 8082 for 2 weeks next year and were particularly pleased with our choice. Since then I have read that you can be moved to another cabin to make way for a family. I knew 8082 was a 4 berth but the possibility of us being moved wasn't mentioned when I booked and paid extra to secure it !!

I've since emailed Marella customer services and they have agreed its a possibility depending on bookings.

I think its really bad that they can do this...I was really looking forward to the cruise but all I am thinking about now is if we get moved the irritation it will cause and my complaining of this (probably with no effect) will spoil the start of our cruise.

  4. hi. Booked a junior suite on Discovery. When I rang to pre book cabin I was given lots of options. No idea which one to pick, can anyone advise me?

Only been on one cruise before and the side we were on we were looking at port each time we docked which was great, would like to do so again.

    Options are-

    8020/22/24/44/46/82

    8522/24/74/88/90

    Thanks in advance 👍

  5. came off the Allure on Sunday, at Palma, RC lay on shuttle buses for 5 euro round trip. easy to get on as they direct you as you come off the ship & you pay cash at a desk before you get on. the bus stops right by the cathedral & you just hop back on when you want to return.

the info you get teh night before details the bus & cost for each port you visit. - (apart from Naples as you are in the center anyway)

  6. next time we go on a cruise we will self disembark, we waited for 45mins for our case's to appear & there were lots of others without theirs. we filled in a "lost luggage" form, they said the cases may make the flight or else would be posted to us! Luckily while we were sat on the couch a porter appeared with ours (if we hadn't spoken to someone about it not sure how long it would have taken)

we saw lots of people coming off at the same place we did with their cases & they got on the coaches without the hassle we had, definitely do that next time.

  7. we have returned today from the med cruise. we had a select drinks package included & upgraded on board to the Premium one at the same cost shown on its site. we decided to do so as the Select does not include bottled water, spirits or cocktails. good decision as it turns out.

Nothing was added to our bill, no vat, tax or extra gratuities. once you have paid that's it!

mini bar in room & is charged in addition to any package but you can get room service at no extra. ( watch out tho as water placed on top of shelf above mini bar which we assumed was complimentary was charged for, gather in hindsight its additional stock for the fridge but its misleading that its left out with no explanation)

  8. we are on the 7th June sailing from Barcelona. when we arrive back on the 14th June we have a flight booked for 11.20. Just wondering if anyone knows how we go about arranging a transfer when we wouldnt know exactly what time we would disembark... & also is the taxi rank very far from where we will dock?

  9. On the RC website the Online check in it states "must be completed 3 days prior to sailing date". Does that mean 3 days by the latest ? I have printed my sailpass so is that all I have to do?

the set sailpass does not mention the drinks package we have, is that normal? How do they know we have it included?

This is our 1st cruise & I am a bit nervous of missing something & arriving at the port without the proper documents!

  10. Hi, never been on a cruise before so don't know the rules about tipping...we have tips included in our package but do we tip anyone in addition to that? room service maybe? Also what currency do we tip, its a med cruise but everything seems to be geared to dollars.

Also we have a select beverage package & want to upgrade to premium, any idea if we do it on board or before then?
