  1. Probably, I never found it either. Only read about it being offered and was never able to connect either.

So HAL's roll call feature is available. Probably easiest to find on HAL's website. Scroll all the way down to the bottom and look under "For Booked Guests". Then click on "Facebook Roll Call". It will take you HAL's Facebook. You then choose the month and ship. A list will pop up. It then takes you to the public event for the cruise that HAL has set up.

    Hope this helps:)

  2. Question about the Noordam (or more generally, HAL's policies). Does HAL allow for embarkation at different ports in Alaska? I know this is common in Med cruises, but wasn't aware that it was in Alaska. ie: You have a charter listed for

    Noordam : 13 September 2017 - 24 September 2017 : Alaska : Aquafest/Happy GayTravel charter

    as well as a group

    Noordam : 10 September 2017 - 17 September 2017 : Alaska : Continuing Education group (type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome & obesity)
  3. i've been on three ** since then an each time we have had the RED cards.

    Sinfonia W. Med, Nov 2013

Opera UK to RSA Grand Voyage Oct 2014

    Sinfonia E. Med Dec 2014

I just was on the Divina May 23 to May 30 and no red card for me. Who knows with MSC. I think their middle name is inconsistency.

  4. On every other cruise I've been one, everyone embarks and disembarks the ship at the same time. The muster drill was always shortly before departing the home port and it was mandatory for everyone to participate.

So, how does it work on these Mediterranean cruises, where some people embark at Barcelona and others at Civitavecchia? Does everyone have to do two drills? Are there drills at both ports, but only new passengers participate?

No, you only do the drill at the port you embark, but you will hear the announcements for both. Only new passengers participate. Be sure to take your cruise card since it will be scanned.

  5. Hi AmoMondo,

I will be on the Divina with you next month to Europe. I drink tap water with dinner, and you mentioned "free vouchers" for water on the European cruises. How or who do I request them from, my PVP?

By the way, I would love to meet you.

Another subject. I mailed of for a safe travel purse, twice, and both were too large, and I sent them both back. I'll have to settle for a small over the shoulder pouch/purse, with a semi-cloth strap. I am a little hesitant, but if I wear it in the front, and keep my hands on it while out and about, do you feel this will be safe. I only plan to carry a small amount of money in it and have money on my body under my clothing. However, i will be carrying a small digital camera inside.

    Thoughts!!!

    Thanks

It will be on your confirmation paperwork if you're eligible. It wasn't a physical paper voucher any more, just a red dot sticker on your cruise card that you'll receive when you check in.

  6. I agree with Modes. Tried to catch the Indianapolis 500 on Divina and went to the sports bar multiple times. All that was on was football aka soccer and a replay of the Monaco Grand Prix. You'll probably be able to get an update on one the English language channels in your cabin. CNN International would be my best guess.

  7. Thought I would jump in on this thread since I got a lot of help before leaving. Just got back from the Divina (May 23-May 30) out of Civitavecchia (Rome). We also booked the MSC Fly Cruise Hotel package that included airfare, hotel 2 nights post cruise, and all transfers (from airport to port, port to hotel, and hotel to airport). The embarkation process was ok. I think the recommended time was 2pm although due to the flight, although we were there at 10am due to the flight/transfer. The process started around 12:30pm (I think they took pity on us since we were there before they had everything set up ;)), but there were a number of people that came in around 11ish. Be prepared to have bar staff swarm on you trying to push any and all of the drink packages. The luggage drop off is in a separate room from the rest of the paperwork that you have to visit before they start since they will give you a group number that will determine when you check in (unless Yacht Club). It wasn't explained to us well, but I think that was due to our early arrival.

  8. Nice position midships, decent views forward and aft although slightly less than a full 180 degrees but absolutely nothing to worry about

Will be affected occassionally by the shadow of deck 14 but only when the sun is really high.

It is connected to 11135 so may be affected by a some noise from there.

Cabins above , below , both sides and opposite so no "white space" to worrry about.

I'd have no worries about staying in that cabin but would prefer not to have it connected. I have been in connected cabins and not had any significant noise problems.

    Pete

PS a standard 192 sq ft cabin (168 living area ; 24 bathroom) with 42 sq ft balcony

Much appreciated Pete! Paid for a Bella interior and the upgrade fairy was very generous! :D:D
