  1. Hello, you stated on a previous post you would be in cabin A427 on the April 4, 2017 cruise from Rome to Rome. I check my reservation and that is the cabin we were assigned. Please check your reservation and get back with me.

I had paid for the cruise and had that cabin. I had fallen off my roof in late October, and was awaiting knee surgery. The knee went totally out in late January, and I was in a wheelchair while planning surgery as soon as possible. It was planned for after the cruise, as I was not having any problems. But when it went out, I cancelled the cruise, not knowing when surgery would be rescheduled, as I go through the VA. And lost out on A427. I had surgery 2 weeks ago, on Feb. 23rd. The doctor said I would be ok for the cruise, so I rebooked it. We are in cabin R414 Trieste to Rome, and cabin R428 Rome to Rome. As the 2nd cabin is 5 doors down, we will probably have the same cabin attendant, so we can just have him, or her, move our luggage the same day. Never figured whoever got our other cabin (A427) would be on these boards. Glad to have met you!. I was going to be on deck 12, but deck 14 has the VIP lounge on it, and will be doors down from where we will be, making it easier to visit. Hope we can meet in person, and maybe have a drink. Thank you!

  2. Have decided to change train to Trieste. Now, instead of arriving Friday at noon from Venice, when we land in Venice at 7:40pm, we take train at 10pm, arriving Trieste 11:30pm. Anyone know of a good hotel for an 8 hour sleep, then breakfast, before watching the festivities for the Majestic? Thanks in advance

  3. We've just booked the 4 night pre-inaugural cruise from Venice to Rome. Soooo excited!

It will mean us getting up at some unearthly hour - probably not even worth going to bed - to get the flight to Venice at 6.10am. Never mind, I can catch up on sleep the first night.

Have been looking at the photos online and the ship looks gorgeous. We've been on quite a few Princess ships, but it will be lovely to go on something so brand new. Our last new ship was Diamond (which we loved), so it will be very different. I know there may be a few hiccoughs as they iron out any issues, but I never expect my cruises to be perfect so no problem. DH is also so excited, and its just after his birthday too so its extra special.

I may have to find a place to stow away at the end of the cruise though as I'm sure I won't want to get off. :D

I hope you don't mind, but I just had to share my excitement with like minded cruisers.

    Happy cruising :)

Hate to tell you this, but the ship leaves from Trieste. We have a suite on this cruise and the one after it, Rome to Rome. We get in the night before, and are taking the high speed train at 10:20am to Trieste.

  4. If you think about it, the first cruise was supposed to be the one I'm on..the 4th April. We got notice that the ship would be ready early, hence the 31st March cruise was introduced. I'm sure they know what they're doing...well I hope so :)

The wife & I are booked on both the 31st March and 4th April cruise. Can't wait.

  5. Anyway, I had a question, I forgot to add. Do both in the cabin have to get the drink package? Just got off the Caribbean Princess last week, our 1st and last Princess cruise. Princess is not what they say they are. Food was terrible, staff worse. No bartender knows what a Chocolate Martini is. But the Princess website says both in cabin have to get the package, but onboard they say no, only one has to. Which is good, the wife can sip 1-2 a day, so its not worth it. Hope I can get the package only.

  6. Looking forward to our June 22 cruise on the Dream! We have a beautifully decorated and expansive inside Suite with Virtual Balcony. We will be taking advantage of the Drink Package. We love Chocolate Martini's, the ones on the Sunshine are out of this world. Hope they are as good on Dream. By the 2nd day the Virtual Balcony will be a real Balcony. And the 185 sq. ft. Suite will seem so big! By the 6th day, well, I can't think that far ahead. Is the drink package worth it? Is country music played all day at the pool, as I read early in the thread? Hope not. Don't think bikinis and cowboy boots go together... Maybe by the 5th day they will. Anyway, if anybody wants to meet, we will be all over the ship drinking Chocolate Martinis, this is our 37th cruise, 5th on Carnival.

  7. If they were both born in the U.S., they can cruise with just birth certificates and government issued photo i.d. e.g. drivers' licenses. She's not required to change her name either.

My daughter was almost denied boarding on Liberty of the Seas in Miami because her drivers license did not match her birth certificate. It took us an additional 2 hours to get her cleared, and the fact I am her travel agent probably helped.
