You know, I wasn’t expecting much on this cruise as far as good meals, service or anything else for that matter.   I really thought since the Diamond has been out of service since Covid (recently started up in November 2022) she wouldn’t be up and running smoothly.

I didn’t expect a well oiled machine as far as everything being up to what I consider the normal Princess standards.  I expected mediocre food, poor service, long wait times for items ordered on the app, and irritable people.

I am really happy to report everything has been top notch, especially the food in the dining room.  It’s arrived hot and seasoned properly and exceeded my expectations by miles.   The scale will show it when I get home.   The Buffet isn’t figured into my opinion.   The crew has been awesome.   For a full ship (almost) and many new crew, they have been superb.   I hope more of the Princess ships can get to this standard (especially the food).

Sure, there have been wait times especially on the first couple of nights at the MDR.   Learn to avoid these times and pretend it’s a freeway and try to avoid rush hour.

That’s my after dinner cocktail thoughts

We are also on this same cruise and agree wholeheartedly with the comments above.

  2. HRPro,

FYI - I just received my shareholder credit for an upcoming Alaska cruise in August.  It took two weeks from my e-mail submittal for the credit to show up.  Since I applied for credit on two planned cruises (2nd one for early 2023) I also received an e-mail response that I needed to re-submit for the second cruise shareholder credit within 90 days of the sail date.

  3. We were also on this TA cruise on the Sky and thoroughly enjoyed the voyage

Yes, it was disappointing that the port of Morroco was cancelled but the replacement at Gibraltar was very enjoyable!  Unfortunately, I did catch COVID before departure but thought Princess staff were very professional in their handling of the outbreak.

  4. FYI - We recently booked and are also cruising this coming Saturday on the Majestic. I submitted the Shareholder cruise credit request on Jan 27th, didn't hear back late last week and re-submitted the original e-mail request.  Not hearing or seeing any credit as of yesterday I called the shareholder department, was on hold for 2 hours before talking a very helpful representative who apologized since they are slammed with requests.  He immediately credited my account and we are now set.

  5. We are on the January 15th sailing with two other couples. When we booked a month or two back we had to book a cat BD cabin to find a balcony cabin that we could choose vs a Guaranteed cabin.  Since then Princess upgraded all three of our cabins on two seperate occasions to a cat BB and more recently to a Deluxe Balcony (cat DB) on Caribe deck.

  6. We also noticed on the new Sky Princess last month that the balcony cabins were missing their second chair (tub chair?) which I liked for more comfortable seating.  We ended up bringing one of the outside deck chairs into the room with the outside table on occasion to play cards, watch a movie etc.

I was not aware and am disappointed that the second chairs have also been removed from the Coral Princess (we are scheduled for a south America cruise later next year on the Coral) which likely means the second chairs and tables?? have likely been removed from all Princess balcony cabins.   Not sure this was a good move!!
