  1. It clearly says suggested, not a rule. The only rule listed was no bare feet or tank tops. I have seen no tank tops enforced quite a bit.

If that was the case then they would have said shorts are welcomed at all meals. But they specifically put shorts are welcomed for breakfast and lunch. Therefor they are not welcomed at dinner and I have seen them recently turn people away for wearing shorts. But like I said I have also seen people wearing shorts in the mdr it’s really up to the Maitre d whether they are going to say something or not.

  2. The rule is no shorts so if u want to only bring shorts and risk them saying something to you then go for it. I have seen both, people being asked to change and people wearing shorts and a t shirt. For me I always wear pants with a dress shirt on regular nights and a tuxedo on formal nights. I do wish it was still considered a luxury to sail on a ship and everyone brought out their best attire, but unfortunately that will never be the case.

  3. I wasn't talking about that at all. The OP was concerned the CREW didn't have the itinerary that the passengers did and wanted them to 'fix their screw up'. Frankly it's not something a passenger should be worried about. As long as the ship ends up going where the passengers were communicated it would go, and where they made plans, that's what is important. Not RC's internal communication procedures, or lack thereof in this case.

That was my point as well. No passenger should be calling, emailing royal saying the crew doesn't have the itinerary change you need to fix that. Really royal could do whatever they want with the itinerary. They could turn around and say we are going to labadee and st marteen and then what.

  4. Seriously? Have you ever been to Coco Cay with two ships? 6600 people on that island is way too many. The one time we were there with another ship, we were on Enchantment and I can't remember the other ship, but it was at about 5000 people combined and it was a drizzly cool day and the island was packed plus tendering took forever because they had to split the tenders that operate. So, I guess as long as it doesn't impact your vacation, then whatever, right?

I've been there with 2 ships and everyone was happy, besides a few people who thought they were the only ones on vacation. Say there is gonna b 2 ships at cococay what are you gonna do about? Nothing, if u r not happy you can't cancel ur excursions and stay onboard.

  5. I fail to see why this is of any concern as long as the passengers are making their plans with the correct itinerary.

I don't see the issue either... the issue will arise if we get on the ship and they don't sail the revised itinerary and everyone has to rebook their excursions. But till that happens I don't know why people are worried that the crew doesn't know about the itinerary change.

  6. Me being a pilot for an airline doesn't care or know about my next flight until it is time for that flight. I feel the ships officers r the same way. The hq knows the itinerary but when it is time for the sailing hq will brief the captain and he will sail to where they tell him and when. Royal has sent all the pax an itinerary change notice which is all that really matters at this point. I'm sure the crew doesn't care till it is sailing time. If it turns outs they don't actually change the itinerary then it is on royal for all the mix up, but at this point with them still 5 days out the crew is fixed on their current voyage.

  7. Hi everyone! how are you? I am about to embark on my Anthem of the Seas cruise this upcoming Sunday. It is an 8 night cruise leaving from Bayonne. I LOVE eating in the MDR but I HAVE to try Wonderland... of course, I'd never want to miss a formal night though. Could anyone help me out & tell me for sure when the formal nights are? My itinerary is as follows:

    4/9- Cape Liberty

    4/10- Sailing

    4/11- Sailing

    4/12- Orlando

    4/13- Coco Cay

    4/14- Nassau

    4/15- Sailing

    4/16- Saiing

    4/17- Cape Liberty

    Thanks so much!

We are on the same cruise with you and are thinking it's going to be 2 and 7.

  8. I learned last cruise that tips given on drink slips are divided up amongst the beverage staff of the entire ship. I tip a little here and there but prefer to give cash at the end of the cruise.

That's why I always give 1-2 dollars to the bartender that made the drink every time. I bring a 100 dollars in singles every cruise and it always makes a huge difference in the service I receive.
