  1. As I am considering booking Aurea cabin with two teens I found this thread researching if they could use this area with us. I have called MSC to check and they have advised that my teens are certainly accepted in these areas on all ships now as long as they are quiet and well behaved. Hope this helps anyone else looking for info!

  2. Well after umming and ahhing for ages, I didn't book the Britannia. Too many niggles with the cabin type, and the feeling that at 12 and 15 the children weren't really kids but officially weren't allowed in some adults areas. So I'm currently waiting for the Tui Discovery to come in sale for these dates. Pluses being itinerary is far better, visits smaller islands like Bequia, Guadeloupe etc, children would both be eligle for teen club if they wanted to go. Has got climbing wall & mini golf, and movies under the stars, and will be all inclusive. Mixed reviews so far from this summer but hoping things will have settle by next year! Just hoping it comes on sale soon as I've been sorting this out since March when P&O came out! So am I making a big mistake - ?!?!

  3. Over on the Facebook page about cabins, people who have stayed in these say it wasn't a problem. I'm limited on choice as need an inside opposite for kids, so can choose one of these knowing I'll get a good view but maybe a bit of smoke, or I can choose g319 which is over a lifeboat! Oh decisions!!!

Poppins74 it might be worth calling your agent or p&o to see if you can move if you are concerned.

  4. I have asked this over on facebook too but there maybe someone on here that has stayed in these cabins. Looking at booking a cabin on G deck above the glasshouse balcony which I believe is now a smoking area. Has anyone found this a problem in these cabins or is it far enough up to not be an issue. Thanks!

  5. Thanks groove chick, it sounds like there will be plenty they can do, and reading on Facebook, it seems like children do go in the live lounge whether allowed or not. Did you find that? I'm sure if they are happily sat watching the entertainment and not small children they will be ok. Just need to decide on cabins next!

It seems the Live Lounge is over 18 only. Shame as though I'm looking at a cruise in 18 months time, my kids already have better manners and act better than most adults! We enjoy spending time together on holiday so it's making me a bit wary that there are no go zones for them. They are paying the same as us after all, so not sure I want them to feel like they aren't welcome everywhere.

Hopefully someone will reply and make us feel better!

  7. Hesitating about booking this. Main reasons are will the kids like it. The 12 year old will be two weeks off 13 so wont be able to go in teen club with his big sister. His big sister wont go without him! We like comedians but the kids wont be allowed in the live lounge! Other than them going to the clubs, it doesnt actually seem like there will be much for them on sea days. And are we going to end up them watching tv in the cabin while we enjoy the entertainment they arent allowed to watch?! The days on land will be great and would look forward to showing them the islands. Anyone taken similar age children on the caribbean Britannia cruises? How did your kids find it? Thankyou!

  8. Hi

Looking at the dates for Christmas and from past memory I imagine we will break up on the 16th December and go back early January. In 30 yrs can't remember schools going back over a week in to January.

    Not sure if this helps

I am pretty sure it will be the 16th, 23rd is way too late, unless they did wed to wed which i have seen some schools are doing, but we have just had a chat about it, and im not really happy that if we went with Brittannia on the 16th/17th that we would arrive home nye or be mid flight - sort of imagined being up on deck in the Caribbean :(

  9. Thats what i think they will do but our local education authority (though academies and grammars dont follow these always) says 23 dec - 9th Jan!! To be honest even if they do finish 16 Dec we could do Brittannia but then we would arrive home on NYE - the idea was we would be away for both - would be a bit of a let down being home for NYE.

  10. Argh! Spoken to school and the school holidays for 16/17 wont be decided until towards end of summer term - so we either risk it and book what we think they will be - or we will miss out on a christmas cruise - OH thinks just book it and if we get it wrong they will just have to be very ill!!

  11. Looks like I'll have to look at the other cruise lines but really like the direct Barbados flights with P&O - fingers crossed school hols fit with brittania but that would mean we were home for new year - not ideal.

NCL epic is doing a 10 night Canaries ex Barcelona on 28 Dec which would fit for your 50th - might not be quite what you are looking for!!

  12. Hi! Is the info out for Christmas cruises on Azura and Ventura? The Brittannia doesnt look like its going to fit with our school hols for the Xmas/NY Caribbean cruise - gutted as we decided to wait a year and not book the 2015 one :(

Thanks in advance if you have the info.
