Pam and Mary Ann, I cruise solo and booked the May 26, 2017 Alaska cruise also. I may add a pre-cruise tour to Denali if the price is right.

Celebrity has been showing some great prices for November on their new ship Reflection.

Don't remember the exact dates but I felt for a single they were great.

The Celebrity Ship Constellation is also doing 5 nights that are reasonable too. Good luck

Have you looked into any of the cruises out of Cape Liberty? The Anthem is doing one next May to Bermuda and Boston. May14 I think, we have a thread started if you want to take a look.

This new ship has single balcony cabins that are not that pricey!!

I too am chiming in and agreeing with everyone in the solo conversation. The only person I have shared a cabin with is Mom, and that works out great. I love that you can have some planned excursions and I would definitely go to Buchard Gardens as that place is FABULOUS!! There probably is not time, but High Tea at the Empress Hotel in Victoria is wonderful as well.

Good news for solos the two newest Royal Ships, Quantum and Anthem have solo balcony cabins that can be had at a very good rate!! I booked the 7 night Bermuda and Boston cruise for next summer.

For the same money I would go the Occidental route unless you want the snorkling. The Occidental is very nice and recently remodelled.

Well, pardon me! Maybe I should change my name from "vacation luvver" to "Miss Deep Pockets."

 

So I guess that if your friend hadn't gotten sick at the last second, the two of you would have found something to do in those two ports that wouldn't have cost you even one penny. So why couldn't you do those things by yourself?

Not to get in the middle of this, but you are being rude! The traveller stated that she and her friend had planned things but involved taking a taxi. She also stated that she was not comfortable taking a taxi alone. Before you jump down someone's throat take a moment to read an entire post.

So nice to see you have power again!! Will you go thru the changeover from week to week. Did you have to leave the ship and then return? Are you allowed to go pick up a bottle of win during the transfer? My Mom will need a wheelchair if we have to reboard the ship which is why I am asking. I can zoom down and get a bottle of wine for the week.
