  1. I am wondering how important it is to get a transfer from the ship to the airport on disembarkation day?

We are arriving in Seattle at 7am and our flight leaves from SEA/TAC at 1:50pm. Should we get a transfer from the ship or would it be just as easy to get a cab once we get off of the ship to the airport?

This is our first cruise so I don't really know how this part of the cruise works. Any advice or insight is greatly appreciated!

  2. Thank you everyone for your advice ! I really appreciate it. I think we will stick with our traditional dining at 8:15pm reservation and see how that goes.

Concerning the buffet- what is the quality of this food? Is it lower quality than the dining rooms? Do many people use the buffet?

The reason I ask is that if you have high quality food available to you in the MDR, why would you want to go to the buffet? Maybe I am missing something here...?

  3. My husband and I will be taking our first ever cruise to Alaska on the Crown in 4 weeks. I thought I had done my research on dining options but I still don't think I have it down.

    1. We originally chose traditional dining requested a table for 2 because we thought this would be a more intimate option for our honeymoon. However, it doesn't seem like there are many actual tables for 2 available. Would we be better off getting anytime dining and requesting a table for 2 there?

    2. What is the general consensus on anytime vs. traditional?

    3. I was under the impression that the buffet was part of anytime dining, but it seems that these are different options? If you get traditional or anytime dining do you have the option of going to the buffet?

    4. If we have traditional dining where/when do we eat breakfast and lunch on the ship?

Thanks for any help and sorry for the newbie questions!!:)

  4. Thank you everyone for your thoughts. I will leave our departure flight the same. We are very excited for Alaska and for Seattle. We are getting into Seattle 2 days early so that we can explore before our cruise.:)

  5. My husband and I will be taking our first ever cruise to Alaska on the Crown Princess in June. We have our flight back home booked for 1:50pm out of Seattle. I am wondering if this is going to be enough time to disembark?

The itinerary says that we arrive in Seattle at 7am. But, being a first time cruiser I am wondering when we will actually get off of the ship and be able to get a cab to the airport.

Do you all think this will be enough time, especially if you have taken this cruise before? Or do you think I should look into changing our flight?

Thank you for your responses and your time:)

  6. My husband and will be taking our first cruise ever in June. We chose the Alaska cruise and unfortunately, were not able to splurge on a balcony cabin. Instead we have an interior cabin, as we are thinking we won't spend much time in our room.

    1. I am wondering if there are spaces outside to just sit and watch the ocean? People watch? Where would this be?

    2. Also, people who have taken Alaskan cruises before in early June, what is the weather like? are you able to sit outside on the deck or is it too rainy etc?

    3. If anyone has any tips for Alaskan Cruises or Crown Princess we would appreciate any and all advice... thank you!:)
