  1. So this might not be the best spot to ask this question but I couldn't find a more appropriate board. I'm getting married on a cruise out of New York. Woo! We have guests I'd like to provide parking for that are sailing with us. It's about 30 cars and I can find transportation to bring us there and back but I don't know where the 30 cars would stay for the cruise because they definitely can't fit where I live. Parking at the port is expensive so is there parking near the ny port that's more affordable for guests or a transportation company you know of that we could hire to bring us from ct to ny and that we could leave our cars at? Any suggestions appreciated! Thanks!

  2. Cotswold - I'm not sure how the threads got merged! I'm new to cruise critic. I figured the Piccadilly area because I need to get to Heathrow but is it better to be in a certain part of Piccadilly? It sounds like picidally circus and green park are both near where I want to be and can go to heathrow directly? Or am I misunderstanding? Basically where should I stay to get to heathrow in the morning easily and see the sights like I mentioned?

The tube takes an hour from picidally circus to heathrow, no?

  3. So I really appreciate all the helpful tips you have given me and I think I've come up with a game plan and am curious if you think it sounds good and makes sense!

Our boat docks and I think we will do the 8:30am tour to Stonehedge/Windsor castle. They take your luggage so no baggage issues. The tour should drop us off at our hotel in London (which I'm thinking I'll book near picalldy) around 6pm. Then we'll go to a pub to hopefully have some fish and chips. Then take the tube to see Big Ben and the other sites right in the immediate vicinity before calling it a night. Granted we'll see them when it's dark but I think that could be nice with the lights? There is an open top bus tour that runs late that we could do to drive and pass the sites if we choose to do that instead. Then the next morning (which is a Saturday) we'll leave around 8am and take the tube from picalldy to heathrow. Our flight is not until 1:10pm so I think this should give us plenty of time and is cheaper then the heathrow express and since we'll be near picalldy easier. I'm assuming luggage on the tube is fine for a Saturday morning? Also, I hope picalldy does go straight heathrow. So this is my plan! Does it sound like it could be a problem for people familiar with the area? Thanks!!

  4. I actually was considering the London toolkit tour option (it's also through viator) that goes through Windsor and Stonehenge and doing that because they pick up from the Southampton port and will bring you to a hotel near the airport at the end. It seems like nice, easy solution. A little on the pricey side. I just don't know if it's crazy to see those places instead of the main London city attractions. With the given time constraints, I feel like that tour would probably go smoother. Thoughts? I can only imagine London main tourist attractions are packed and probably easy to get lost

  5. I will be in the London area for 1 full day to basically do anything that I want. I haven't booked a hotel yet, but I come back from a cruise in Southampton and plan on getting transportation somewhere near Heathrow. I get back in port very early Friday morning and my flight is on Saturday in the afternoon from Heathrow. I know it's not a ton of time but I'd like to see what I can.

I'm considering getting a hotel near Heathrow and seeing something like Wndsor Castle. I'd have to do some more research but it looks like hotels very close to the airport offer free shuttle services (but then Heathrow looks like 40 minutes away from the main sites in London?). I'm thinking this is probably a more affordable route and I'd still get to see something.

However, I would love to see some of the main sites in London, but I'm not sure how to get around in such a limited amount of time and if staying near Heathrow still makes sense

  6. This is my first post here so I hope I'm posting the best way!

I am deciding what to do in La Coruna our one day in port from 12pm to 8pm. There just seems to be so many options.

Option 1)There is a 5.5 hour tour to Santiago to see the cathedral that sounds wonderful and I can tell from other reviews people think it's worth visiting there.

Option 2) It sounds like the Town itself has a lot to see and is worth not doing an excursion and walking around.

Option 3) La Coruna and Betanzos - I can't find a lot about this online but it sounds cool in the description.

Help! Have you been and what would you recommend. Since it a 12pm to 8pm would that impact your decision as well?

    Thanks!
