  1. I was wondering about the disabled parking at the Miami terminal. Does it have it and do you get a reduced rate if you have a lift in the van. I know in Ft. Lauderdale there is free parking but you have to have a disabled sticker (which I do) and have a scooter lift that is in the van (which I do) and they do check to make sure you do. I have not parked at the Miami parking lot before with handicapped equipment so don't know.

  2. My two boys want to know if the Chef's Table on the Magic is the new one or still the old one. I know they started a new one on the Vista but when they were on the Conquest last November it was still the old menu. Since they have had it a couple of times already they didn't want to do it again. They would however love to try the new one on their next cruise.

  3. The Antigua thread isn't looked at so thought of posting here. Also, did look up Antigua on the internet but was hoping to get personal thoughts. The person is going on a Carnival tour and was wanting to know if it is going to be walkable with a walker.

  4. I used to get the lamb but found on the Conquest that they didn't know how to cook it. The other Carnival ships it was so tired and tasty. Not sure why the Conquest can't get it right. This time on the Conquest I am getting the cowboy rib eye. It is really good. I will also get two apps and no salad. That is my usual order. Most times I don't get any desserts because they have nothing that I can eat.

  5. Just a question for those who leave their scooter outside in the hall. What are those of us that have scooters or walkers suppose to do when we come upon one that blocks us from going down the hall? Don't want to get into trouble and I haven't yet run into this problem but am curious. I know that it is a problem sometimes with trays and food left out on the hall but a scooter would be a lot bigger.

  6. I used to get the lamb chops and they were really good. However, my lst 4 trips have been on the Conquest and they really don't know how to cook it. I tried it twice and then gave up. It was so tough I couldn't cut it never mind eat it. They did give me a steak instead but I was told that lamb was like that. The Dream, Legend, the Glory all had great lamb. I'm not sure we are going to the Steakhouse on our next cruise. It might depend on what the food is like in the dining room. I also had problems on the Conquest with my meal at dinner. Looking forward to a different ship. I still had a good time on all my cruises, as the food is only one part of the experience.

  7. I took my personal scooter in Oct. and found that it fit through the door fine but I needed to push it not drive it as the lip at the door ment that I had to make a run for it to get over it. I had called the special needs dept. as well s looked at the web site to make sure that it was the size that would fit through the door. It then came apart in the room and we were able to store it under the bed and in the closet until I needed it.

I do agree though when people leave things in the hall it means that I have problems with either my walker or my scooter.

  8. My GoGo Pride scooter comes apart. I try to use my walker on the ship unless I am going from front to back and back again. I use it to leave the ship at any of the ports. When I take the seat off it folds up small enough to fit under the bed.

I did have trouble with it going up the steep ramp though. Trying to get an accessable cabin is hard and we usually book almost a year out.

  9. I took mine for the first time in October. The only problem I had was riding it up the ramps. It had to be pushed. This time (Feb) my husband will push it up. I found that getting on and off the ship I had someone from the ship push it up and down as it would get caught up at the top of the ramp. Also, getting in and out of the cabin was difficult. I would push it in and out. I'm not sure how it will be in Feb. as we are in a different cabin and across from our room there is another room so there is a little more room to get in and out. The last cruise we had the stewards closet was right across from us so we didn't have the extra door space.

  10. I'm confused Gut2407 the poster was on the chair, it was the guy who wasn't. The guy was the chair hog not someone92636.

On my last cruise in Oct. my two son's and I went to breakfast. It was busy so we said we would sit with others. We are from Canada. We got to the table and there were 2 ladies from Florida. We introduced ourselves and were making small talk when another couple were seated. They were either from Georgia or South Carolina. All of a sudden the four of them started talking together (my son's and I were in between them) and were saying really horrible things. The racist comments, the ridicule and the hate made the three of us really uncomfortable. We remained quiet because we had already been treated to the reaction from another person when we made a comment and asked them if we could talk about something else. Then they started going on about Canada and making really horrible remarks about our Country. We had had enough and left. I didn't even get to finish my breakfast but by that time i didn't feel at all hungry.

  11. On our 25th anniversary I decided that we were going on a cruise. On our honeymoon we went to a cabin in the woods that I cooked and cleaned for the week. On that said honeymoon I told him that I wanted to plan the 25th anniversary trip. He said of course I could do it.

25 years later I reminded him and he agreed so I started planning for a cruise. He did decide on where we would go (Hawaii from Vancouver BC) and decided that we would go 3 days early and stay 3 days later.

But right away he said that he thought it would be better if we found that cabin (if it was still standing) and go back to it. I did tell him that he could go but I was going on a cruise. He complained right up the gangplank.

Two days into our cruise he came back to our room and told me that cruises went a lot of places didn't I know that. Since then we have been on many cruises.

So I was in the same situation sort of as you. He thought we could save the money to buy something else. The cruise memories have lasted a lot longer than any thing we would have bought. We celebrated our 42nd anniversary in Oct.

  12. I haven't had a problem on several of the ships going wheat free however the Conquest was a different matter. I have sailed on her the last 4 cruises. The first one was pretty good. The next cruise was a B2B. The first week my food was good but the second week it was terrible. That was Jan. 2016. Sailed on her again Oct. 2016 and the food again was horrible. My tablemates would take bets on how bad it would be. The meat would be so dry and tough I couldn't even cut it up. No sauces or sides. I am really not sure what was going on because on the other ships I didn't have any problems and the food was good. Not once was I offered bread. Even desserts were not good.

I am going on the Glory in Feb. and am hoping that it is better.

  13. Got off the Conquest October 23rd. We had twice a day cleaning without being asked. We didn't fill out any forms and we were not asked if we wanted once or twice a day. Also, we had our ice bucket filled twice a day. The stewards were great.

Next cruise is on the Glory for the Bloggers Cruise. We will see what happens.

  14. We were on the Conquest for the Oct. 15th sailing and the old menu was still on. We have done the old menu a couple of times as well and had hoped that the new menu would be presented. Oh well. Maybe the next cruise in Feb. for the Bloggers Cruise.

Oh and the menu that was just posted is the old menu.

  15. I forgot about this post. I have my scooter and have decorated it in pink and glitters. The insurance paid the full amount. I don't have anything on the back of my van as I am able to dismantle it to get it in and out. Also, I will have my two son's with me.

I do have a passport and a HC placard that I use. We will be parking at Ft. Lauderdale for this cruise and Miami in Feb.

This is the first time I will be having a scooter with me. I have used my walker before. I am still going to bring my walker because I can for the most part use it on the ship. However, if I get too tired and I will need it for sure for getting off the ship at all the ports. I just cannot walk the long piers.

  16. My scooter is now pink and blinged up. It is me. My husband and son's thought that the bright red was okay but I don't like red. I love pink. It looks really nice. I have been out with it to some stores to make sure I know how to handle it and it is a lot easier than the big clunky one's at the store. I am able to really turn it, and watch the speed. I now have to go some place that has an elevator so I can practice that as well. Since I was getting really good at the big one's this small one is so easy to handle.

And my insurance paid the full price for it.
